While I was living in Las Vegas, my naturally thin nails (despite taking tons of supplements and applying daily nail oil!) experienced trauma during a fill, and all of my nails needed extra care afterward -- I spent seven months slugging them with nail oil and thick cream to help them recover. I was so happy to return to San Antonio after the long hiatus and get back in Eva's chair. Before applying gel, she did a very light buff to help protect my natural nails. Thanks to her careful technique, my nails can continue growing out healthy without any further damage. I came in on Wednesday 6/17 last minute without an appointment and while I am very thankful they were able to do my nails, I am very disappointed with the service I received. I have been a regular customer of this nail salon for about a year now. The girl that did my nails the most recent time, filed them so hard there are cuts on my fingers. The gel is very thick/uneven and the gel is flooded into the cuticles. She did not look at the picture of the design I wanted and instead did her own thing. I am so disappointed. When I went to pay, my price was significantly higher than expected and despite asking questions I never received a clear answer as to why. $95 for a fill of this quality and leaving my nails in pain is not acceptable. read more

Stumble upon this spot because my normal nail place had water pipe issues. The women here are the nicest! Soooo many nail polish colors to choose from. Their basic pedicure is $35. I chose the one up from this at $40. Had the extra exfoliating leg/feet massage. It was wonderful. The vibe is so great too! They have a full bar, many drinks to choose from, for free. I'm in town for business and needed to fix my broken nails. I was in this particular area so this salon came up. The salon appears to be very new (inside a newly developed strip mall). It's bright, airy, spacious, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. (Restrooms are very clean.) There is a bar area and free snacks available in the small waiting area. They offer you a beverage from a large selection of drinks, including alcohol. The employees were very nice and respectful. The nail techs were all wearing brand uniforms, which just added to the professional atmosphere. What I especially loved that I was given the price BEFORE the services, and they confirmed that I was ok with the price before we continued. (Although she said $90 but then swore she said $95.) What I didn't like: I specifically requested a nail tech who was experienced and good with shaping because I wanted stiletto nails. Although my nail tech was very nice, and she really tried to take her time and fix things, she lacked the skills so the end job was subpar. She repeatedly cut my fingers nearly a dozen times over the duration of the process (including when she was just clipping my nails. How does a nail tech miss the nails and clip your finger/skin??). She did apologize, but it just proved that she's inexperienced. Some of the nails are lumpy and most of them are rough around the edges (meaning they weren't thoroughly buffed). Lastly, the "CATastrophe." So after reviewing their cat eye display I requested the cat eye 06 and 10. Their display has 2 rows for each color. When I inquired, the receptionist said that the top row is how it'd look with a nude base, the bottom is the look with a black undercoat. 1- the nail tech didn't know about the black undercoat process and had to go ask the receptionist about this. 2- during the process I realized the nails were not looking like the display. The tech went to ask about this; the receptionist came back and stated that the ENTIRE cat eye display shows French tip cat eye, which is an extra charge. If you have a DISPLAY for a product, a consumer expects the end result to emulate that display, otherwise it's FALSE ADVERTISING. The nail tech felt bad about the cat eye results, as she struggled to complete my nails. She said the cat eye would be free, but the receptionist still charged me full price. I recently had to see another technician and was not happy with the nails I left with. The owners were extremely accommodating and set up an appointment for me to have them fixed by Joy, and she went above and beyond to give me the nails I wanted. Located in San Antonio and close to so many spots, this place looks like it just opened--everything is spotless, modern, and feels brand new--even though they've been open for nine months! I've been here a handful of times and I gave it another try despite some minor issues. This time I had to go back and get my nails fixed and I was not happy to drive back. Ivy did my nails and she did the dii powder. When I got home and did laundry and dishes I noticed the top coat was peeling. It all came off on one nail and a few others were starting to peel. I'm not going back to this place. As much as they charge this should not happen. In fact, it had never happened before. My pedicure by Lily was good. I went here for the first time for a pedicure today and will not be going back. I had to ask the person doing my pedicure to stop cutting my nails because he was cutting down to the quick and it was painful. He started doing something else then came back to that and started trying to aggressively clean up the corner of my big toe on my right foot. It hurt, A LOT. I asked him to stop, told him it was hurting. He apologized but he cut the skin down too far, to the point that there is a red line in my toe that is extremely sore and I am legitimately worried I'm going to get an infection in my toe now. When he wrapped the towels around my legs, the right one was fine but the left was extremely hot, so uncomfortable that I I pulled the towel off and told him it was burning me. He just wrapped the towel back around my leg and we went back and forth on that. I also told him the hot stones were too hot at some point. My only regret is that I didn't stop the service and leave after he ignored me the 2nd time I said what he was doing was painful. Extremely disappointing because the salon looks nice and the woman who greeted me and got me started was very nice. I would not recommend other people avoid this salon. P.S. I've had tons of pedicures over the years at different places and I've never had so many moments where I literally said, "Ow!" This was the complete opposite of relaxing. The owner greeted me and was most gracious when I told him that I did not have an appointment but wondered if they could work me in for a pedicure, regular polish. He said not problem and I was taken care of immediately. The appointment was longer than they probably schedule for because my feet were in bad shape and it had been approximately a year since I had had a professional pedicure. The pedicure was great and the place was clean. Unfortunately at the end of my service while my polish was drying, someone at the salon put some sort of drying liquid onto my toenails to make the polish dry faster and it messed up the polish on one of my big toes. A friend I was with also had a regular polish manicure, same solution was applied and messed up the polish on one or two of her nails as well. It sort of felt like the staff did not want us to sit in any of the chairs while the polish dried for more than a few minutes, but the time spent having to fix the nails would be much longer than if they just allowed us to wait a few extra minutes while the polish dried. I would still come back again but would not allow the drying liquid to be used on my nails again. read more
