I recently got married in San Diego last month. My husband and I are an interracial couple, we met in graduate school. We had two weddings ceremonies to celebrate both our cultures. He is Desi, and I am Mexican. I decided to get Bridal Henna and book Wardah for our Mehendi Night to honor my husband's cultural traditions. We currently live in the Midwest. Planning a wedding far from my hometown was hard but Wardah made sure to accommodate us in every possible way. She understood our situation and our limited time frame. I was able to send her ideas of bridal henna that I liked and provided details for my mehendi night. I have sensitive skin which made me concerned about getting henna. Fortunately, Wardah makes hers of organic ingredients which are safe for my eczema. I got my bridal henna done first due to only being in town for a week and needing to get my henna done prior to our wedding. When I arrived, Wardah greeted me with a warm welcome and explain the process. Due to my designs we were estimating 3- 4 hours. It was the longest thing I ever done bit Wardah made it look like a simple process. My design took 5 hours but Wardah provided me with enough breaks to allow me to stretch, plus she turn on the TV for me to watch some Netflix. I was in awe with just how great precision and calmness Wardah took to create my beautiful henna. I absolutely loved my bridal henna! She provided me with great after care information and instructions. I followed them and was able to get great pigmentation for my henna. On thr day of my mehendi she arrived on time and provided my guests with beautiful unique henna pieces with colorful glitter. My side of the family have never had henna so they found it even more enjoyable and a great bonding experience with my husband side of the family. Wardah was amazing! Dream come true! First of all, Wardah was extremely friendly and communicative. Her website is setup very well to walk you through the process of making a reservation with her, pre and post henna application instructions, and a great portfolio to help you decide what kind of henna is best for you. I appreciated the 1-5 scale that Wardah has designed for her clients. Going into the appointment, I knew exactly what I was getting and her pre-henna application instructions helped me tremendously to prepare for our appointment. On the day of the appointment, Wardah showed up on time with her little magic cart. In it she had a table to ensure the right elevation for henna application, a platform for the bride to rest her arm during the extended henna application, a heater to keep your henna warm(warmth is henna's best friend according to Wardah!), and a blow dryer to dry your henna as she moves from one arm to the other with an impeccable speed and accuracy! She even brings a little present for her brides! In it she had a straw, lemon and sugar water spray, coconut oil, and a print out of post henna application instructions. I was floored by how thoughtful this gesture was. Clearly, so much thought and preparation has gone into preparing this little package. I used the straw all day and was so grateful that she included it in her little present. Wardah graciously took the time to explain the process of making the henna! So much respect for her! Her henna is homemade and she makes it herself! The process sounds very time consuming and arduous and if you think about it she basically starts preparing for you before the appointment even begins! The quality and fragrance of the henna was the best I have had so far. The henna left a beautiful reddish brown stain and I was very pleased that once it began fading, the stain gracefully lightened instead of peeling or chipping like I have experienced in the past with cheap henna. She prepared the design beforehand and got straight to work when the appointment began. I loved her artistry. The henna is a beautiful combination of thin and thick strokes based on your preference. I loved the final output! Everyone, and I mean every single person who saw my henna was in awe and mesmerized by it! I couldn't recommend her enough! First I want to start with how wonderful Wardah is as a person! I met her at the Adams Ave. Street fair and she did the most beautiful henna I've ever had. I was recently married and wanted a bridal henna, so I reached out to her. Bridal hennas take at least 5 hours and I was nervous about sitting with a "stranger" for so long, but she was so sweet and so easy to talk to that it was a really nice 5 hours haha. Second, which I kind of touched on, Wardah is a true artist. She is so absolutely talented and creative (it must be because she's left handed ) she really does such beautiful hennas that you don't want them to fade! I emailed Wardah and she got back to me within a day with a quote and asking me for example pictures! She was super easy about me changing the date a couple times which I was very appreciative of! She came to my house right on time with everything she needed to do my henna! Which was awesome because I had nothing prepared for her haha. We actually expected my henna to take about an hour longer than it took Wardah to do. She did one full hand, a full hand and arm, both feet, and my back, and all of it came out beautifully.
