Living Hope CSA is great because they have a close drop off location to my house, and I like supporting local farms which provide us weekly fresh organic produce free of fertilizers and pesticides. The vegetables (and fruit such as tomatoes) are DELICIOUS, but I think other CSAs give more produce each week. (We compared what we got to what our friends get from other CSAs that also do 6 items for a small share.) At one point during the summer, Living Hope CSA did email all its members to say sorry about the quality of vegetables since the weather has been hot, but I think it would have been nice if they offered credit back or a discount for future farm shares. One thing I like about this CSA is that you can pick from a list of what you will be receiving each week. (The other CSA I am comparing to does not let you pick each week.) Unfortunately, by giving the option of choice, sometimes they run out of the popular items and you get a random item instead. That's okay, but sometimes you will receive out of season vegetables. For example, I received potatoes in the middle of summer (tiny potatoes in a tiny portion). I did order potatoes later in the fall though, and they were great. Save the cool season vegetables for the cool season!

My mom got the Mediterranean wrap. My Toona was better. Food was great and tastes healthy! If you follow along you know I had a heart attack so I have to cut out salt and sugar. Now I can't see the nutritional facts on this stuff but I didn't taste salt or sweetener in the smoothie. Both wraps came with a small side salad. Food was filling enough for lunch. Looked small when we first got it. Came with a dressing that was not salty. Tasted like possibly a vinaigrette and olive oil. Pretty tasty. I have a friend that walked in and asked if they had coffee. Some guy(presumably Arnold) said no we have something better! MINERAL WATER! I'm a city girl and the prices in Philadelphia are insane. Six dollars for a smoothie man. Oh man, I was in heaven. I chose one of the green smoothies with Spina and bananas and it was probably the yummiest smoothie I've ever had! I could definitely tell that they waited for them to sweeten before using them. I also opted for the tuna salad sandwich. It was on some crispy bread and made of cashews. It was delightful and so filling. I was ordering and waiting for my food. Arnold and Scott chatted up with me at the counter. They were both very pleasant and I can't wait to go back to talk to them and also try the food. While there I noticed in a array of natural products as well as a ton of books. Turns out Arnold has written probably 20 or more books and he has them all on sale there. His stance is food should be your medicine and medicine. Should be your food. While I was eating, I saw a few people come in and ask Arnold for some advice. The community really seems to love him and have a pulse on their own personal health and journeys. I love that Arnold wants to give advice to people to help. I never knew raw could taste so good. My only regret is not visiting this location when it was still in Philadelphia. It's about an hour drive for me and sadly I can't go back as often as I would like to.
