The lady at the counter - I did not catch her name - she walked me all the way to the back to select a replacement, then the department manager helped me also. I felt so taken care of with a smile! 3 of us dined in on Tuesday at 10:50am at the buffet Lunch starts at 11am, so they charged us for lunch price which is totally ok but then they charge lunch price but things werent set up at all, not ready to take customers. Juice from breakfast was still out, no scoop for soups, food werent out served, left over food from breakfast still out, they were just starting to putting out food, Some food; fried flounder so hard, unable to chew, and smell fishy, pizza was not cut properly so when i tried to pick one piece, 1/4 of pizza scooped up together so the male employee apologized and gave me another tong to hold, the other female employee had an attitude and face when my brother explained the situation and excuse, she didn't even acknowledge he said, no coffees for lunch, so many cons but the price is 14.99 including soups and drink Some food taste is decent, some staff are pleasant Cashier didnt know much about when and what they are serving since they just started breakfast and lunch. [1163] 3/2021 I passed this beautiful building on the way to ski at Spring Mountain. By the look of the building I knew I wanted to check this place out on the way home. I'm so glad I did since this place is amazing. So many grocery items to choose from. Tons of fresh foods including sushi items. It's definitely a great place to pick up lunch or dinner with so many options. The staff was friendly. When I checked out I told the cashier it was my first time there and she was great. Love this store! It has all the consciences of a large chain store with the personal touches of a family owned business. The staff are ALWAYS polite, available and helpful which is why I keep returning for groceries. There are brand name and organic products. The selection is good considering it is not a chain. The produce is always fresh with locally sourced items. The produce variety is basic. You are not going to find exotic products. Small meat and fish section with all of the basics available. Baked goods are prepared on site and include local favorites as well as decorated cakes. The sour cream pound cake and homemade chocolate cake are especially good. They have prepared munchies and meals which are convenient when you are in a hurry but want a meal. I've tried a variety of the prepared food items and they were all good. Traveling through Harleysville and decided to stop in for dinner, as the buffet just recently reopened. I don't mind paying more for food due to the Pandemic as the buffet prices did go up but don't gouge me an additional $2.59 for a beverage, that was always included in the buffet. On my visit, a recent Saturday night, which was suppose to be food from around that world was mostly the remnants from Friday nights seafood buffet. The clams and mussels were combined and served in one large hotel pan. I thought this was a bonus towards tonight's buffet, but the clams were mostly dried up or closed. The mussels were ok, but not steaming hot. The lobster ravioli was gummy and in limited quantities. The Turkey and the beef stew was just acceptable. The ribs were tasteless, tired, and mostly fat. I did try to revive them with barbecue sauce but it was not effective. I tried some fried chicken which was lukewarm as it was piled high on the buffet. This was the only selection that was abundant. The onion rings were somehow still hot and not soggy. This was the winner of the night but not worth the $17.99 buffet charge. I heard another guest comment that the pizza was not on the buffet tonight. Desserts were decent as I did get a piece of pumpkin pie. Again, mostly everyone that I saw was drinking water from the tiny complimentary tiny water cup as like myself, I wasn't going to be " fleeced" with paying an additional $2.59 for a soda cup on top of the already increased buffet prices. I will not be returning in the near future as I'll wait until they bring back the breakfast or Sunday brunch buffet. I also noticed by the buffet registers, was a tip jar. I bring this up as I did witness a couple who presented an older female with an accent who bussed their table , a few dollars as a tip and she bluntly refused this as she said " tipping isn't allowed!!" This makes me wonder who is really receiving the proceeds from the tip jar?? read more

Been here quite a few times over the years...usually for the buffet. Went to a GVH sponsored event here once to learn more about knee replacements and have some food. Was in here most recently for a can of Cambells condensed cream of mushroom soup for a family supper (goes GREAT over pork chops!) I like it here although it's not on my usual route when I'm getting groceries. Sooo I've heard about Henning's for a while now and the reason being Mr. Sticky's sticky buns ! My brother heard about them and brought them home and they are .... So good ... top tier. I then learned after I started dating my boyfriend that this is his local grocery store and one thing led to another and I had to try it. I find it very similiar to a Wegman's it has a lot of specialty products and is a little bit higher end than say a Giant. They definitely have unique products and good quality, but because of that some of their prices can be a little on the higher side. They have a great prepared food section and even have an all you can eat buffet. I love their baked goods and they're pretty much littered throughout the entire store. They definitely have some unique items. The staff is super nice, the restrooms were clean. It's definitely a pleasant grocery store. I like that it's not so large it's overwhelming. Now I go there frequently because it's so close to my boyfriends and I really enjoy it ! They do offer good sales and we got some great deals on marked down items too - which I love that they do to try and reduce food waste - yay! read more

Great selection of different items however it is pricey. My biggest problem though is the fact that they do take Apple Pay but they require a pin to use it. The point of Apple Pay is for a touch less paying experience. This business was previously hacked and customer pin numbers were stolen. My rating is 3.25 I don't come here for the grocery shopping. I come for the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets. When Shady Maple is too far out of reach, I choose to go to Henning's for my buffet fix. It's by no means the best buffet around, but it is very affordable, and for the price you pay, the food is decent enough. Especially with the extinction of Old Country Buffet which wasn't much better, it helps take care of my cravings. I think it was Thursday night, where kids eat for free as well! My go to is their pizza that they serve, as well as their chicken tenders, very, very good for a buffet. They also have a decent selection for drinks as well. I visited the store on Saturday, 10/5/24. I made a purchase for $66 and tried to use a coupon for $10 off of $50 which I received in the mail! Customer service would not honor the coupon claiming I did not have a store card. I shopped last Saturday in Hennings and used a similar valid coupon with my phone number. Sandy and customer service suggested that I fill out a new store card application, which I did, but would not honor the $10 coupon! I have shop at henning's occasionally over the past 20 years, have used their catering, and have ordered countless cakes. I will not return, nor will my family members, and I will share this review on social media. Sandy was rude and on accommodating. I hope that the $10 was worth the loss of future business! read more

There are THREE reasons you NEED to shop at Hennings. #1 Is the PEOPLE- No miserable clerks/ not a single employee avoids eye contact in hopes they can avoid assisting customers/ No Cashiers rushing you to "Shut off their light" to get to another break. If you DO need help, they will HAPPILY help you, and unlike other stores, there are PLENTY of employees to do so! #2 Is the DELI- We've totally given up trying to get cold cuts & cheese at ANY other Supermarket. For some unknown reason, asking for very thing/ shaved/ chipped, lunch meat and cheese is no longer YOUR choice. No matter what we ask for, how thin we describe the slices, we still got 12 slices to a pound THICK Ham, Bologna, and Roast Beef. (The kind you pull out of a sandwich with the first bite) We gave up standing and watching Deli Clerks who would do one or two thin slices to show, then, at home, realize the remaining pound was "Mrs. Thick Slice" and the slicer had been adjusted without us knowing. At HENNINGS, there are PLENTY of cheerful Deli Employees. My longest wait at the counter was the time it took me to get a number and read it. No 15 minute slog-fests, waiting on a single clerk to cut the four orders in front of you. When ordering HERE, you tell the Clerk what you want, and how you want it sliced, then you go shop. When you finish, you pick up your order at the Deli Baskets, and it's EXACTLY what you asked for. Not most of the time, not some times, but EVERY TIME. There are NO surprises when unwrapping cold cuts & cheese- Not ONCE. #3. The in-house "You cook it" Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf. We tried this last week. There are no words to describe how GREAT this was. I cooked it on my gas grill, using indirect heat, to keep the bacon drippings from flaming up. 50 minutes at 350, and you are set for a wonderful experience. The Hennings ground beef, as well as this Meatloaf, are a much finer grind than other stores. The texture is so much nicer, and then you get hit with the juicy, perfectly seasoned flavor, and you may never make Meatloaf at home again. KUDOS to the Entire Staff- WELL DONE!! read more

Beautiful cakes for competitive prices!!! They will customize anything and help you think of designs if you're stuck. I ordered my friend's surprise 21st birthday party cake here and I was in love with the way it turned out! Megan is the manager I spoke with and she was extremely helpful and patient. She even made suggestions about my choices in order to make it the most affordable cake for my budget. The cake was just under $90 and was a half-sheet to feed about 60. I did a lot of cake-hunting for this party (my boyfriend called me Cakezilla and told me I should have my own TV show called "Say Bake to the Cake") and Megan was by far the most helpful person I've worked with anywhere. I also went to Giant, Wegmans, and other local bakeries. None were as impressive as Henning's. Thank you for all of your hard work and help! I will be back! read more

The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets are a great value. Every time I go there I wonder why I don't go more frequently. Then when I leave I remember, it's almost impossible to not overeat. You can eat very healthy which I feel I accomplished today for lunch. This has to be the best $10.00 lunch in the area. There are 8 types of homemade soups, all are really good. Today I had Maryland crab soup , it was excellent. There is s huge salad bar with tons of fresh veggies and even chicken to add. There is hot foods galore, always at least one fish, several choices of chicken and today I had roasted turkey and chicken Parmesan. They have fried chicken that is always really good as well as pizza, chicken fingers, French fries and other things that kids will surely enjoy. They now have a taco bar , I made a Mexican salad today. They have a nice selection of fruit and some deserts including cupcakes. They even have a soft serve ice cream bar that would be worth $10!all kinds of toppings. The$10 even includes fountain drinks. What a great lunch and for the first time I didn't overeat! I recommend taking the family here on a weekend afternoon and having a great lunch with some ice cream for desert. It's worth the drive. read more

I have shopped for groceries at Hennings for 36 years. Today, after passing the front doors where signs said you must wear a mask to enter. Shortly after entering I saw a woman with four or five children in tow and none of them were wearing a mask. I went to the service desk and was informed that Hennings did not enforce the mask requirement. I went to the woman and offered to buy them masks. She refused. I went home and called Hennings and asked for the manager. Again, I was told that management had instructed staff to not enforce the mask requirement. If this store does not care enough to help protect my health, I cannot and will not shop there. read more

For us, Hennings means two things: First, a clean, well lit, well laid out supermarket with lots of organic and local foods and seriously the nicest people working there ever. Second, it's a great place to get a buffet-style meal at a very reasonable price. Think Golden Corrall with a produce section and you've got their buffet. The Reverend and I went there to catch a quick bite while the NMT was practicing nearby. We were wary, because buffet can be very good or very bad. In Hennings's case, very good is the verdict. Everything was fresh, no strange skin over the mac & cheese, the pizza was not soggy or stale, the salad was quite fresh and you have seriously 20 different options for dressings. It makes sense, as they probably walk across the supermarket to pick up their ingredients, right? We thought the fried chicken was superior to any in it's class, very tasty, well crisped but not greasy or dry. The meh was the 'fried rice' which was bland, but hey, it's a buffet and you expect hit-and-miss. You dine in one of two areas - first floor beside the buffet tucked in a corner area with windows, or upstairs on a mezzanine where there is a community meeting room separated by french doors and tables all around. We chose upstairs and rather enjoyed looking down at the supermarket. Coming on a Monday night, it was $10.95 a person, drink and dessert (ice cream, cup cakes, etc.) included. Friday and Saturday evenings it goes to $8.95. As the NMT is a growing person (read: eats like a small army) we plan to take him there after Friday night practices and give our wallets a break. One other thing: They are not doing this to be able to sell beer. You cannot purchase alcohol in the store. Just in case you thought otherwise, as other stores are including "restaurants" so they can sell beer. Thank you, goofy PA liquor laws. My only complaint? It's not closer to home. read more

Stopped in tonight around 6pm for the first time ever and really enjoyed the cafeteria area. This is like a single parent's dream as far as price and quality. For around $12 my son (4yo, under 5 eats free) and I got a big bowl of chicken noodle soup, tacos, rice, beans, guacamole, and two raspberry teas. We could've gone back for seconds and ice cream, but truthfully, we were satisfied after our first go around! My suggestions for improvement: signage to direct people since not everyone is going to get a salad or soup. Also, it would be helpful if prices and options (buffet or by weight) were listed when walking into the area. Our cashier was very helpful and explained everything thankfully. I live not too far from Harleysville, so I've been coming to this Hennings since I was young. It can be a bit pricey, but other than that everything is fantastic. Not quite a Wegmans, but the closest thing while the new Wegmans is being built in Collegeville. The buffet is OK if you stick with the meat and potatoes stuff. Skip the Southwest buffet. Their frozen "steak burgers" are pretty good and sometimes you find DiBruno brothers stuff as well. read more

I must say I'm really disappointed tonight. I love the buffet and the vast selection of food. I paid $18 for the AYCE buffet (drink included) and loved it, as usual. I wanted to take some dinner home for my girlfriend, so I got her one chicken breast and a small side of mashed potatoes (about 1/2 cup). It was $23.46. Seriously? For one piece of chicken and a little bit of mashed potatoes? If I knew takeout was $17.99 a pound, I would have skipped it and gotten something hot at Landis. Just not right... read more

I'm really at meh, I've had better. But, it's not really 2 star. This is a fussy store. Their prices are high, but not everything for sale is within its use by date or are unopenned. The hot bar is lovely, but pricey. They really like you to use an ID card when you buy stuff even if you are from out of town. They want to bag your stuff for you. On the up side, they have several types of scrapple, they have a wide range of cheese, they have a hot bar (with chipped beef on a sunday morning), they have good cold food. They have three kinds of crab cakes (which taste a lot the same, oddly, but range in price by a factor of 3). I'd go back but can't recommend it as highly as I could if they fixed a few things. This is the best grocery store I have ever walked in. Customer service is comparable to Chick-fil-A (or better). Simply put, the workers here are just flat out FRIENDLY. My wife and I are always excited for our "Hennings trips" even though we live right down the road. Oh and be sure to check out their Cafe! We ordered our cake from Hennings Bakery/Catering for our wedding this September. From the moment I tasted their sour cream pound cake with buttercream frosting, I was hooked (better than the fancier bakeries) & knew we had to choose them on taste alone. I was a bit more hesitant about how the cake would actually look since we were trusting a grocery store to decorate our wedding cake. Never again will I judge a book by its cover, nor a cake by its makers. Hennings, you are AMAZING & our wedding cake was absolutely stunning. I can honestly say this place blows Wegman's of Collegeville away in every category.
