I had a business meeting with an associate at Broad Street Grind. I have never been to Broad Street Grind after riding by it for 5 years. The business is on 117 E. Broad Street Souderton, PA. Look for it or you will drive by it. It is before Route 113 makes a right before the RR tracks on the right side. Parking in the rear. Limited on street parking in the front. The inside has plenty of seating area with tables. You can have a delicious coffee drink and get on your phone to check messages. I had a sit-down meeting that lasted 1.5 hours. No one bothered us and it was quiet. Broad Street has all types of coffee and breakfast sandwiches, muffins etc. Take credit cards. All is well with this small business. Enjoy! read more

I was in town for work and needed a place to get a great cup of tea, something to eat, and space to work for a couple hours. And this place satisfied every part of my list. The barista was friendly, helpful, and warm. There was comfortable seating and plenty of it, and outlets nearby. The bathroom was super clean. And the Winter Montecristo sandwich and Earl Grey latte were outstanding. There were a few parking spaces right in front, and it seemed like it wouldn't be too hard to find a space on the street, or maybe in a small lot somewhere close by. Hidden gem of Souderton! Staff has always been nice despite the area not being racially diverse. The menu is filled with nutrition dense, healthy, creative items such as soups, salads, bowls. They have desserts in their glass case anywhere from cookies, macarons and muffins. There's plenty of seating and there's a fireplace that made it very cozy during my last visit (December 2022). This was my first time at Broad Street Grind, so I'm glad I came with people who have been here before because I would have been confused lol. When you enter, you order up front, seat yourself, they'll bring your food to you, and you clean up after yourself. I loved the seating in the separate room by the window. A lot of natural sunlight and quietness. I would love to do some work here while I indulge in some good food! Speaking of food, they have plenty of choices and offer a $10 or less menu. I chose to have their breakfast special, which was a chocolate chip pecan waffle with fruit. The Butternut Bean Burrito and Toast To Your Health were also ordered and I was told they were delicious! Wow it's expensive!! I decided to give this place a second chance and unless you're ready to drop some serious $$ for casual food, I wouldn't recommend it. The first time I went there was about a month ago. I went in around lunch time. I ordered a cappuccino and the mozzarella quiche called to me. First of all, I was a little out off that none of the coffee drinks had prices listed. Ok - how expensive can it be? Second, when you're telling me the daily quiche is $11.95, I'm expecting a hefty slice and a side. Well my shock was when the associate told me my total was $21.26 for a slice of quiche and a cappuccino. My second surprise came when I was handed a tiny cup - I'm going to say it was 6oz. So we're talking what here - at least $6 for the cappuccino?? I was so shocked I didn't really question it. Ok, my quiche was delicious and I should've taken a pic. It was a decent portion for one person, but no side. I was back at work by the time I looked, so no I didn't make a fuss. Today I stopped in, thinking ok the quiche was expensive but maybe they have something else on their menu. All their lunch sandwiches are around $14-$16, as are their salads. A cup of oatmeal is $7. Everything looked delicious, but at this rate I'd be spending $30 just on lunch for me. I decided to try another coffee. I asked the associate if there was a beverage menu. She pointed to two clip boards, one had a tea list and the other was pour overs. The other coffee drinks are all drawn on the chalkboard behind the counter. Again, NO prices on anything. Yes, I could have asked but I just went ahead and ordered a flat white. I wasn't asked what size - do they even have different sizes? Because again, I was handed a tiny to-go cup of my flat white. My total was $4.72. I'm sure everything is good quality and well sourced, etc. But I think the menu could have some cheaper options for those of us who would like quality but cannot break the bank each time. It's really overpriced. For example, the basic egg sandwich is $7 and that is literally two eggs on a choice of bread, it doesn't even have cheese! That's a $1 extra! If you want meat on it, it's $4 extra!! Ok I think you all get the point. read more

Okay so I used to love it here, but the batch of baristas I've encountered lately have totally ruined my experience. Hopefully it's just temporary. I ordered a sandwich they listed on their menu at $10.95. The girl at the register told me my total was almost $14. I mentioned that couldn't be right because it was supposed to be ~$11, and she just stared at me. I asked her to check and she said it was correct. So I asked if there was something besides the sandwich in my order, and she said no. I said that total didn't make sense. She said, "Well it's taxes and stuff." I said, "We don't have a 35% tax rate." She just stared at me. So then I said, "Is your menu incorrect?" She said she didn't know. I said, "Can you look at your itemized breakdown?" Then she said, "Oh yeah, it's $12.95." I pointed at the big menu - PRINTED THAT DAY! - and said, "You might want to change it to avoid confusion." Again, she just stared at me, then asked if I was paying with cash or credit. Yeah. It's $2. I'm not bankrupt over it. I don't care except that it's YOUR mistake and you acted shitty to me about it?! But don't treat me like an asshole when I don't understand that you lied about your pricing. Have the decency to at least apologize instead of making me feel stupid. Throw me a coffee or something? Maybe just be fucking decent?! Whatever. Rude AF. Later, I go back in and there's another barista there who was totally put out that I was trying to, you know, give them my money. And accordingly, the coffee drink he made was half assed. I used to go here all the time, but unfortunately, I think I'm done here for a while. read more

I went here for a cute early morning get together with a friend and my mother. When I stepped foot into the café, I was instantly warmed by a fireplace. There were tons of happy faces already seated which made it a little hard to find a place to eat at, but not too hard. It was cozy. I ended up ordering (forgive the fact that I cannot remember the exact names) their peanut butter protein smoothie and some sort of breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon, and cheese (and maybe something else). My order came out flawlessly and was just as delicious as it looked. My friend's coffee was too sweet so they took it back and made her a completely new one with no wait and no hassle. If you're seated, they bring the food right to your table. We later ordered a chocolate scone to share that was absolutely delicious. This is the hometown coffee shop so there's a star right there. Add other for great coffee and a third for great service. This review then centers around the newly done brunch. Awesome concept, very causal, great attention from staff. Can we get another two stars?! No. Here's why. I understand offering mimosas to increase appeal. At a 66% up charge which is ideal in a restaurant setting, the mimosa doesn't cost even $.98 with both its ingredients. So to charge a flat rate of $13-14 for a bacon egg and cheese bagel is not even something that you see at Green Eggs Cafe, Cafe Lift, Sabrinas, etc. That's a heavy price on something you can walk out of most places for $5-6 with. The quality was there, don't get me wrong, it was tasty, it just wasn't $14 tasty. Now I drank three cups of coffee to try and equal out value through this which was pretty much my normal routine. 3.5 stars is closer than 4 and deserves more than 3 but Yelp isn't decimal. Make the mimosas optional, drop the bagel to even $8 and I think you'll be more attractive to the people who are interested in trying brunch there. Just my .02. read more

Tried this place on a whim as I was in the area. The place was clean and welcoming upon arriving. Staff was friendly. Ordered a nitro coffee, a chai latte and 4 macarons (2 white chocolate; 2 raspberry) for my wife and I. Here's where things took a turn. In lieu of the nitro coffee, I received a cold brew and when asked was assured it was a nitro (okay, maybe you all do coffees a little different here). Cold brew was good but not what I ordered. Checked with the wife, chai latte was great! Exactly what she was looking for. Opened the bag of macarons at the end of the evening. Raspberry macarons were great! Very tasty. White chocolate macarons were...not white chocolate but cinnamon (they were okay...but again not what I ordered). Hoping this might just be the case of a new employee / barista. Things happen. Will give it one more try at some point and update this review post. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! I've lived in Souderton over a year now across the street from abroad Street Grind. I go here from time to time to try and support my local coffee shop. The coffee has always been okay and the service has always been meh, which is fine...But today I thought was inexcusable. Let me set the scene: 1st... most of the staff seem to be untrained high school kids behind the counter. I fully support working youth but this isn't your local ice cream stand: This is a high end coffee shop selling coffee drinks at $7 a pop. At least train them in the ways of food safety and handling customer issues, etc. to justify the price. 2nd of all--my "barista" charged me $2 for getting oat milk in my iced coffee (not an iced latte--just oat milk. I ask about it and the kid says "it ain't me dude" (I get he doesn't make the policy but come on). So what was originally $4.50 comes out to almost $7. I can't drink milk so I guess that's on me. 3rd (and most inexcusable) my barista begins to cough in his elbow (fine) but then twice into his hand and the doesn't wash his hands or even wipe It off on his apron. Just goes right to handling peoples drinks and food. I see that and I say to myself, Nope! Not today! And out loud I say "Excuse me, I'd like a Refund please!" But here's where the fun continues... nobody there knows how to process a refund. It took 5 people to gather around trying to process the refund. Meanwhile nobody else is doing anything for everyone else's drinks and food orders. Finally after everyone lackadaisically trying to figure out how to work the register, the manager comes out. I paid $6.87 with a card. The manager tries to refund me $3 and change in cash. Good thing I paused to count it. I turn around and say "Nope,that's not it either. It was $6.87. Sooo, it took another few minutes for the manager to figure out how to refund a credit card transaction. So, be forewarned. High prices, bad service, and poor training/safety standards. I won't go there anymore. I warn other to think twice before they do. read more

It was uncomfortable being the order that was keeping this one person from their break. One latte had 3 surcharges - upgrade to 16oz ($.70), Oat milk ($1.25 = outrageous) and Rose ($1, also outrageous). Everything tastes great but the costs and hidden costs are outta this world. SO HAPPY WE FOUND THIS GEM! The area has a serious dearth of good breakfast places and finding truly excellent coffee is nearly an exercise in futility. But not so any more! Scones are excellent, went perfectly with our French Press of Rush Hour. Family breakfast also included a monte cristo, maple bacon panini, and quiche du jour. All were delicious! We will definitely be back. Oh and they're BYOB if you want sparkling wine for mimosas, and they have a coffee reward card for repeat visits. read more
