Looking for a hearty breakfast? This is the place to go!! Food is in large portions. I was here with the family so we tried several dishes. Waffles are awesome because it's extremely fresh. Chipped beef was great even though it was a bit salty. The signature corn hash is a must which went well with the eggs benedict. Food didn't disappoint. Downside is the service. The waiters were not attentive. The hostess and greeting process also requires improvement as we didn't know if we were placing an order for takeaway or dining. Food is good, atmosphere is nice but Henrietta's lacks direction! I have been for brunch a couple of times and although the food has been good and the atmosphere and service very pleasant the experiences have left me quite confused! On Sunday they have an all you can eat buffet for $45... which, even though it is all you can eat, is still quite pricey. Brunch on Saturday is a la carte... or so I thought. But instead it is a kind of hybrid prix fix where you might, or might not, have to order all three courses- depending on what your waiter says... and FYI he might or might not tell you the same thing as the hostess who seats you. All in all pretty confusing and a bit of an awkward/ embarrassing situation for everyone involved. The food was nice and the atmosphere really quite pleasant... but the "rules" of the brunch were not clear... to the point where their own staff seemed to not understand. Tasty, yes. Local, yes. Fresh and organic, yes. A little expensive, well, yes. But the best brunch I've had in a long time, hell yes. Had a deferred Father's Day brunch here with this inlaws yesterday. It is connected to the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, so it took us a second to find it. Henrietta, as we came to learn, is the name of the pig which serves as their mascot/logo/etc. There is a little pig store (including books and stuffed animals) which my wife and daughter loved. Somehow we escaped without bringing one home. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a cross between country cottage and napa valley chalet. It was very inviting and the staff was extremely attentive. The local/organic food aspect was what attracted me to Henrietta's. Having just lived in the SF bay area in California, I'm a supporter of the movement for both the health and carbon emissions reasons. Let's get to the food! Bread... served warm and delicious with what I assumed was locally produced butter. Homemade lemonade was nice and tart with just enough sweetness to cut through. We all ordered the 3 course meal. I had the crab corn chowder (yum), the breakfast skillet (tasty), and the maple walnut cheesecake for dessert (drool). Overall, everything was very very good. The service was also good. Definitely come here Sunday to Thursday for the discounted 3 course menu! I have two complaints about this place though. First, the side rooms are not very well decored like the main room. Second, the portions on the dishes are inconsistent. Day / Time Wednesday, 10:00am Food I went to Henrietta's Table for breakfast and ordered an omelet for myself and pancakes to share (just could not decide between sweet and savory that morning). The omelet was very good - quite fluffy and with a pretty even and generous distribution of filling. It was huge, so I didn't even come close to finishing it. The pancakes were delicious, but pretty standard buttermilk pancakes. Everything was great with the fresh squeezed orange juice. Service We were seated immediately and the service was fairly prompt. Overall, the service was fine but unremarkable. Atmosphere The room was well-lit with natural light and the high ceilings made it feel airy. Overall a nice atmosphere for breakfast. Came here for an appreciation lunch so I don't know how much it was nor if the quality of the service was due to being in a private room. Foodwise, SO AMAZING. The breadbasket was delicious with its dried fruit and nut studded breads. Really loved it. The crab and corn chowder was okay. It was yummy and I think you'd probably like it; i was just not that into it... and I wouldn't order it again. .... the ham sandwich, on the other hand. oh my word. that sandwich was amazing. FULL of delicious caramelized sweet and savory ham. Could not finish it at all but really wanted to. Went out of our way for lunch today to this place from Boston. Due to overwhelming reviews on opentable 1000+ with 4 stars and about 600 on yelp. My wife and I weren't very happy. All I can say is that the service was great thanks to our server. However the food was just ok. The plating not very appetizing it's like getting lunch in a cafeteria or having hospital food served. Just plain blah! Taste was ok really nothing great. I had the terrine for apps and my wife had the chowder 2.5 stars it was ok something you can get at panera. We had the pot roast and my wife had the turkey pot pie again it's just plain and simple. This place is good if your around the corner and if you want to spend $60 in lunch( discounted for restaurant week). read more

I got: - Corn/crab chowder - Prosciutto/provolone Sausages with cabbage - Chocolate bread pudding The lady got: - Smoked salmon with johnnycakes - Quiche - Crisp with brambleberries I enjoyed everything. The chowder was a little bland, but I still enjoyed it. Sausages were great, and (unlike previous reviewers) I really liked the bread pudding, despite being stuffed and not much of a dessert person. I've seen a review here somewhere stating that Henrietta's Table is like an overblown Cracker Barrel. I'm not gonna lie, it is. However, it's much *better* than the junk-fest that is Cracker Barrel. Of course, it's also a great deal more expensive. I thought the food was very rich and tasty, and the desserts were also well done. Of note is that even though it was a hopping Saturday night and there were eight of us total, the food came astonishingly quickly; probably within five or ten minutes of ordering. I agree with most other reviewers here: the bread is fantastic. We had to wait for quite a long time for our entire party to arrive (of which the wait-staff was very patient and understanding), so we were lucky enough to partake in more bread than might be expected. One word to describe Henrietta's Table: mixed. First, the food... 4 stars. The quality and taste of the food was very good. I got the lamb shank and my fiancee got the salmon. Both of us enjoyed our dinners, from what I could tell. The heartiness of the lamb mixed well with the wilted greens and ?bacon? mixed in. The ambiance... 2 stars. I'd say it was a mix between fancy and Olive Garden. It was as if they were trying to be fancy, but stopped short and when they got the shipment of tables and chairs and other decor that was meant for an Olive Garden, they said, "Screw it, we'll just use 'em." Also it was very loud. The service... 2 stars. The first round of water was provided by a server who had ghastly BO. Maybe I'm too much of an American, though. Also, another server continued to scratch and pick at his hair while serving other tables. Hope he picked something good. Service was slow and the water was refilled (thankfully by someone else) only once throughout the two hours we were there. The value... 3 stars. Entrees were between $18 and 25, which was decent for the quality of food served... and of course you pay for the "Harvard Square." Overall, Henrietta's Table is solidly decent, but needs to work on a few things before I'd rush back. read more

Made a reservation for 11 people at 7pm on Friday to celebrate my grad school graduation. They had given us a nice table along the back window- would have liked some fresh flowers but it was ok. We were served delicious warm fresh bread and butter immediately while we looked over our menus. The server quickly took our drink order but seemed to have forgotten to come back to take our meal orders. We must have waited a half hour for her to come back to our table. However, despite the slow service (the restauran was packed, by the way) our drinks were tasty- peach mojito was bliss and the wine/beer selection was good. I had the watermelon/feta/greens salad- great combination and perfect for spring and summer. My grit cake with white wine butter sauce, mushrooms, and spring peas was tasty. My brother's crab cake was moist, had almost no bready-filling, and tasted fresh and delicious. Other family members' meals looked great- they loved the lamb shank, the duck, the potroast, fish- all of it! My chocolate bread pudding with caramelized bananas and vanilla ice cream could have been better... maybe because it had gotten so late into the evening the dessert had been sitting for a while... but others enjoyed the Taza chocolate pudding very much. So, given my positive experiences, I thought a gift certificate would make a great gift for some friends who live in the area. Well, I go in tonight and the hostess gives me this snooty look and acts like she'd rather not be helping me the entire time. She didn't even look at me when she was talking, and after I'd paid for the gift card, I said "thank you," but she was already talking to another customer. So rude! Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the Boston area. Hearty, traditional American flavors permeate throughout the entire menu. A commonality among all great restaurants is the ability to literally select anything from the menu and have no fear of disappointment. Such confidence allows me to go against "Bourdain's" never order Hollandaise mantra, because their spin on eggs benedict is simply sublime. The ingredients are clearly the star here. We went as a party of six last Saturday night, and the restaurant was crowded but not packed. The rhythm of the serving was off, drinks left empty, waiting to order, waiting for the check, etc. I know the vibe is rustic, but at this price I found the service disappointing. That said, we all very much enjoyed our food. High-quality local and seasonal ingredients, simply and expertly prepared, made for delicious meals, and a cheese course is always a welcome thing. I don't think it makes much sense to recommend specific entrees because the menu changes with the seasons (but my pork chop was great!). Great if you're a locavore who likes to eat seasonally, not so much if you fall in love with a particular dish and expect it to be there next time. Would give 3.5 stars if I could. Prior to last week, I had only been to Henrietta's table for a cocktail. This tme around, we hit the restaurant up during Restaurant Week. I have never been a huge fan of Restaurant Week as my group of friends can have dietary or food allergy issues and the menus tend to not be diverse enough. Henrietta's table is hands down THE best Restaurant Week deal. For $33.01 you get an app (had the crab cake, very good), an entree with a side (I chose duck - came with a breast and leg confit, along with brussel sprouts, would highly recommend), and dessert (went with the chocolate bread pudding). They have an interesting cocktail menu with fresh ingredients and a great wine list and several very reasonably priced options. This will definitely go on my list of fave places to eat! read more

Yes, they have a very impressive spread - some notable mentions: oysters, shrimp, prime rib, smoked salmon, and a super desert table -- with two types of whoppie pies even! Also, the unlimited fresh squeeze orange juice was a plus. If you like traditional breakfast items - they will also make to order your omelet, and they have good sausages, and wheat waffles. Now the downsides: The food tasted bland. And it is crowded and noisy. Not what I would call a relaxing Sunday brunch. And at $45 per person, I expect excellent food and a good atmosphere. We went to Henrietta's Table with a large group last week. We were late, and that was fine. In fact, I was welcomed with more charm than I've gotten from ANY waitress or maitre'd in Boston! Highlights: - best service I've had in a long time - A+ for very unique mixed drinks (I had some tequila concoction with pear liqueur and cinnamon syrup- ahhhhmazing) - A+ for giving me (the bride-to-be) a dessert on the house - A for quality and amount of food Low-lights: - food is already quite pricey and you need to order additional sides as the meals come rather plain. However, this is a GOOD thing if you like to control portions HT gets 4.5 stars from me. It's not really a date place which is my only lament as I would go there more often if it were. Just because the corn is in season, you cannot make corn chowder with crab, and has no crab flavor or seasoning. Besides the corn was not sweet at all. My husband and I went to Henrietta's Table for a birthday party for my stepdaughter at noon on New Year's Day, Jan 1, 2019. There were 6 of us. The table was nice and the service was fine but the food was overpriced and not very good. The "entrees" (this was advertised as a brunch) were $25 which was way too expensive for what we ordered - one was a turkey sandwich which was not very tasty and the other "pulled pork , again expensive and mediocre. Three of us ordered two starters which were $12 each. One was pate which was almost inedible and the others were the crab and corn chowder (pretty good but a very small serving) and oysters that didn't look fresh. The other starters were a cod cake (not bad but very small serving) and spinach salads. The salad tasted pretty good but all of the spinach leaves still had long stems on them (clearly the spinach was just pulled from a bag) which should have been cut off. I had to cut them off myself as I was eating the salad. My husband asked for a simple side order of a fried egg and they refused saying it was too much trouble. I have lived in Cambridge for 30 years and this was one of the most disappointing meals I have had. read more

The Duck Entree here is outstanding. Always my "go-to" on any good chef's menu is the duck breast with confit. I've had this dish in numerous countries, the 2 best examples were in St Louis France outside Basel Switzerland and Old Quebec City in Canada. My meal tonight ranked with them both. Bravo! read more

Sick on Christmas Day due to bad food at Henrietta's Table! If I were the only one who had this adverse reaction I wouldn't be writing this review. However, two of us had the same Christmas Eve dinner (crab soup and crab cakes) and both of us have suffered through stomach cramps and numerous trips to you-know-where. Woke up on Christmas Day still sick and don't feel much like celebrating. Thanks Henrietta's Table!!! Also, our preference was to sit at the bar and had TWO bartenders who were far more interested in other things besides serving their clientele. When you have to ask for bread and water from a bartender, something's wrong. There are better choices in Harvard Square who are far more attentive to their patrons. We came for a lovely holiday brunch and the ambiance of the Charles Hotel met our expectations. The food was also quite tasty with a mix of fresh ingredients and delicious sauces. I wouldn't say it was worth the price, but it was fine. The service, however, was awful. We were seated in a corner table and had the sun glaring down on us, and our server never asked us about the discomfort. She never greeted us nor introduced herself so I suppose I shouldn't have expected her to ask about the extreme glare. She proceeded to throw plates at us, and when asked a simple question about the menu would cough up one-word non-answers to show her deep lack of knowledge. This woman's name is Christine and she looks unhappy to be alive. But her hatred for her work wasn't the only issue we had about her. We ordered some bubbly to go with our brunch and asked for an extra glass for our niece, who is 21. The server asked for our niece's ID (huh?) but it was in the car. I poured bubbly anyway since it should have been my decision to begin with, but Christine stormed over and took the glass away without even offering it back to us. So not only was she unhappy to serve us, she was deadest on power tripping over a silly brunch. Christine's general rudeness, lack of knowledge of the menu and unacceptable behavior towards us and a couple of other guests proves that she is unfit to be a server at an establishment like Henrietta's Table. Management, please take notice. I politely asked the manager for a different server, and our new server was fantastic. So much so we gave her double the tip we would have normally given for our bill, while leaving poor Christine with what she deserved, $0. Our new server was such a stark contrast and completely made up for the disaster it started off as. Avoid Christine if you can, or ask for a different server; they will accommodate. Lunchtime meeting with several collegues from work. Everyone ordered sandwiches of some type (it is lunch, ya know). I had the fish sandwich, and is was big enough for 2 people.....the fish wasn't greasy or oily, and was nestled perfectly between the halves of a fresh roll. Only complaint, is that the only side that a sandwich comes with is a pickle (which is huge)......at lunch, I like an additional side, so I ordered the oven roasted potatoes....which were, just OK. Not well seasoned and a little rubbery (almost like they were on a buffett at a wedding) Everyone had dessert, the chocolate bread pudding -- awesome! Went here for brunch on a Saturday and was pleasantly welcomed by a beautifully, quaint atmosphere. My two friends and I split three dishes: Quiche, Mahi Tuna, and the Waffles. So delish! In order of best dishes: (1) Quiche; (2) Waffles; (3) Mahi Tuna. Service was good. The restaurant was pretty busy, but I know we were able to get a reservation for 3 the day before. Parking is in Harvard Square, so street parking is available but can be difficult to find. Since Henrietta's Table is within the Charles Hotel, I'm sure there is a parking lot there as well (probably overpriced). read more

Brunch! The buffet seems over expensive... but the a la carte is *wonderful*. As always, organic ingredients and farm fresh flavor. The dining room is surprisingly quiet even though it's usually full... the servers are quick to fill up your coffee... the portions are generous... and the croissants come out freshly baked! I went to Brunch on 7/31 and don't think it's worth the $45 per person price. I understand it is difficult to maintain food temperatures when food is in chaffing dishes and platters, but the food was dry. It also lacked flavor. I will also mention that oysters need to be cold. Not room temperature or dry. After eating one, I said I am not eating the rest for the fear I may get sick. We sat at the bar and I can say the bartender and service was excellent. My wife and I went there on a Sunday night -- she won a dinner for two there in a drawing. I ordered the rock crab and corn chowder for an appetizer and she had the grilled portobello as her appetizer. We each had the pulled lamb shank for our entree. I didn't notice any actual corn in my chowder, which seemed a little odd, but it tasted fine and my wife enjoyed her portobello appetizer. The pulled lamb shank, which was essentially a stew, was a nice hearty choice for a cold night. Maybe just a tad saltier than I would have preferred, but overall very good. Dessert for me was the hazelnut cheesecake with pear compote while my wife tried two cheeses from their cheese menu. The cheesecake was excellent and my wife was pleased with her cheeses. Homey atmosphere, especially considering that this is restaurant in a hotel. Our server was very good -- she was helpful with suggestions and very attentive. Portion sizes aren't huge compared to the prices -- plan to pay $100 for dinner for two and don't expect to leave with leftovers. If your goal is to leave feeling overstuffed, then this probably isn't the place for you. Before dinner I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks. It was well made and large, though the $11 price tag was a little higher than I expected. We'll probably go back sometime -- even though we don't have a free meal! read more

Myself and the fiancee ate here about a week ago as part of an impromptu birthday dinner for her. And we couldn't have been happier! The service was great, between the waiter and the food runner's our drinks were never empty long, and the dirty plates didn't linger on the tables as we finished up our bread, appetizers, or entrees. Speaking of the bread, though the whole menu is (relatively) local, both the Brown and Anadama bread - old Massachusetts favorites - were AMAZING. The summer salad was good, though nothing to rave about, but the entrees were, without a doubt, some of the best I have ever had. Growing up here in Boston, I've had my fair share of baked scrod and haddock, but the Henrietta's Table version was probably the best I have ever tasted. The bread crumb topping was very flavorful and admirably complemented the perfectly cooked fish. We didn't stay for dessert or drinks, but both menus - along with the excellent food - means that we will definitely be coming back again! read more

When my girlfriend took me to Henrietta's tables I was nothing like oh here we go again we walked in and sat out side it was summer the place was busy it was sunny hot and full of people so we looked at the menu we did three courses we both had a caprese salad which was the best I have ever had next for entree we had duck two ways and wow that was good perfectly cooked apricot sauce and we got two sides mashed and Brussels which also was amazing for desert we had smores Sunday and I had the chocolate bread pudding with caramelized bananas both were great in been back multiple times trying at least half the menu and all I can say each time is how amazing it is. Keep up the amazing food here I'm a fan and will be back a lot more with my friends and family!! read more

Terrible service this morning. I've been waiting nearly a half hour for two eggs over easy. Manager got involved and said she'd expedite my order, and ended up bringing French toast instead of what I did order. She took that back ten minutes ago and I'm still waiting. She came back over and said she'd comp my breakfast this morning, which is frankly meaningless to me since I have free breakfast included with my hotel stay. And getting a coffee refill has been next to impossible. Very, VERY bad experience this morning. Will look someplace else for tomorrow's breakfast. read more

Had dinner last night at Henrietta's Table to celebrate an anniversary with my family. We reserved for the Dine Out experience. The service provided by Dylan was excellent. The food was delicious. I ordered the pork chop entree that had an amazing smoked flavor. The side of mash potato also delish! We don't normally indulge with a starter, entree and dessert but glad we did here. The desserts were a nice finish to our meal. Loved the cheesecake with black/blueberry compote. The ambiance was relaxing. We didn't even look at our phones once, to busy enjoy the whole experience at Henrietta's Table. read more
