It is on the expensive side ($18 for a standard chicken club sandwich) but the staff was really nice and the outdoor seating is wonderful in the summer. The menu here for restaurant week was their full regular menu, which was amazing. Most places have a special menu with a select few options so this was nice to have and part of the reason why we decided to come here. It was $38 for a starter, entree, dessert, AND a side! Great deal, this is a must try during restaurant week. The atmosphere was very homey and warm. It had a nice country chic vibe and made you want to eat a big hardy meal~ and that we did! The bread that came out first was mediocre, and probably could've been warmer but we weren't there for the bread so it was whatever. For my starter, I ordered the crab and corn chowder. It was a bit too chunky and heavy for my liking and I personally wouldn't recommend it or get it again. Wasn't a great start in the beginning...but the entrees really made up for it! For my entree I had the grilled pork chop with a side of mashed potatoes. The pork chop was cooked very nice and had a rich flavor. The apple sauce that came with it was a sweet touch and an interesting contrast to the pork chop. My aunt ordered the duck breast and that was amazing!! So flavorful and cut really well. I would definitely get either entree again if I were to come back. Mashed potatoes were just okay..if I were to get another side next time I'd probably try something different. Dessert was my hands down my favorite part. We tried three different things and my mouth was watering for each one. A type of rich chocolate cake, a maple cheesecake, and an almond pastry/soufflé. My favorite was probably the cheesecake because it was so creamy and the maple was a subtle sweet touch, but all three were delectable. Server was really nice however the restaurant kind of seemed average, it's marketed as kind of a country chic place but I'm from the country and it missed that mark. I had the bacon and chocolate muffin and the others in my party had eggs and toast. The bacon is a must have and definitely held up the meal. The toast was toast and eggs tasted very fresh. I would recommend this for any families who need a fast service restaurant with kids because of the classic menu it offers. It's about average priced for a place in Boston , for example 4$ for a muffin and 16$ for a stack of pancakes. Overall good meal and relaxing. Wonderful meal! We had an early-ish reservation before a show. Seated right on time, with genuine, lovely, attentive staff. I started with the crab and corn chowder-delicious with a creamy texture and chunks of crab. I had the pork chop with blackberry barbecue sauce served with polenta, wilted greens and crispy onions. Pork was juicy and the BBQ sauce was excellent. The greens were perfectly cooked and the crispy onions provided a nice textural contrast. My companion had the burrata appetizer with pesto and grilled sourdough-very summery flavors. The swordfish special was excellent-served with sweet potato puree which worked really well. I really enjoyed my lunch at Henrietta's Table. I am usually underwhelmed by hotel restaurants, but Henrietta's Table is a nice farm to table experience! The menu had a nice variety of fresh and healthy options. We split a cheese plate as our appetizer. It was good! They had a whole page of cheese to choose from. For my main course, I ordered the Rotisserie Chicken Club. It was fantastic! The chicken, sandwich toppings, toasted bread and even the flavored mayonaise were all flavorful and delicious. The sandwich was served with the largest Pickle I've ever seen in my life. It was awesome! I also tried a bite of my sister's Cornmeal Crusted Monkfish sandwich. That was fantastic! I came here during Dine Out Boston/restaurant week. I had looked it up on Yelp and saw that it was known for its brunch buffet, and also saw many mixed reviews. Either way, I decided to try my hand for dinner. The hosts were very kind and had smiling faces, and I was impressed with how extensive their menu was. I did not catch our server's name, but he was amazing and so friendly! He answered any questions we had and helped my boyfriend narrow down his dessert choice. The atmosphere was very appropriate for a farm-to-table restaurant, very reminiscent of a cute farmhouse. As part of the Dine Out dinner menu, we could choose one starter, one entrée, one side, and one dessert per person for the price of almost $40 per person. Amazing offer. I got the sweet tart cocktail, which was indeed very sweet! I'm not much of a drinker myself but I kind of enjoyed how I couldn't taste the alcohol. Definitely good drink for anyone who loves sweet cocktails and doesn't like to drink! For starters we had the salt cod cake and portobello mushroom on a bed of arugula. The house made tartar sauce that accompanied the salt cod cake was fantastic, with pickles and capers in it. The portobello mushroom was also great, cooked to a not-too-soft texture. Whatever dressing they used on the arugula also had a nice acidity to it to contrast the savory richness of the portobello. As entrées, I had the lamb shank and my boyfriend got the duck. We also got sides of mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts to share. The lamb shank was very tender and subtle in flavor while still very rich from the stew. It went really well with the mashed potato side! I got to sample the duck entrée as well, and it was amazing. I wished I also got the duck! It was cooked perfectly to my liking and was juicy and tender. The thigh of the duck, however was even better than the breast- I watched in awe as my boyfriend used just his fork to nudge the meat right off of the bone. It was so soft and just melted in your mouth. The sides were pretty standard- regular mashed potato and roasted brussels sprouts, although I do wish they quartered the brussel sprouts instead of halving them just because I love how they get crispy on the outside. I just barely had enough room for dessert (which is very rare of me to say), but I got the apple tea cake which came with a small scoop of their house vanilla ice cream. My boyfriend had the pear cake which also came with vanilla ice cream. I loved my dessert- the edges were crispy and the texture of the cake was not too dense. The ice cream definitely made the dessert- so delicious with a deep vanilla flavor. I'm still thinking about that ice cream, days later as I write this review. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Henrietta's from service to food. Henrietta's prides itself on using high quality ingredients and that is truly what makes their food so amazing. I'm shocked at the amount of bad reviews because I thoroughly enjoyed everything about Henrietta's. So glad I got to try this place thanks to restaurant week because it is quite pricey otherwise. Did Dine Out here and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant doesn't open til 5:30p.m. so I grabbed drinks at the bar. The old-fashioned was pretty good. Once the restaurant opened, we were seated. The decor is very inviting and homely. I felt like I was in the South. For food, I ordered the cod cakes, duck and chocolate cake. The cod cake was basically a crab cake. Crunchy and soft inside. Though it was a tad salty. The duck was really tender. The thigh was the tastiest part. I didn't like how the fat was not rendered down though. The cake was really good. I don't think it is on their website menu for Dine Out though. Their plating here is really beautiful! My bf enjoyed the food he had. Salad to start and short ribs. The short rib was tender and falling apart. He had the cheesecake for dessert. Overall, we had a good experience here. Our server was very nice and informative. This place is spacious. I am disappointed that I've visited henrietta's table more times than I can count and have yet to write a review for them. I. Love. Henrietta's! Whether it's a celebration, casual brunch with friends, or the desire of a smorgasbord. Chef Dan has been the head pastry chef for as long as I can remember and his art is delicious. My favorite, however, is his key lime pie. You haven't had key lime pie until you've tried his. It's almost always my "birthday cake" choice and I often call ahead for Sunday brunch to find out if it'll be on the menu. It's that good. My best friend even surprised me this year with a dozen minis. I almost exclusively go for Sunday brunch (unless I'm celebrating a special occasion) and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly and the food is amazing. Whether you're in the mood for prime rib, a hot and savory dish, all the oysters (yuck) and cocktail shrimp you can eat (horseradish made from scratch), traditional breakfast food, or pate (and loads more) you'll find something to sink your teeth into that you like. But save room for dessert bcz it's the crown jewel in the center of the room with a variety of options to choose from. I've watched the cost of brunch increase over the last decade but it seems they're doing as much as possible to keep it at an affordable rate. These days it $55, so bring your appetite. Unlike your usual dark, mahogany paneled wood steakhouse that usually accompanies hotels like the Charles Inn, Henrietta's aims to look like some kind of airy, Napa Valley porch al fresca restaurant. It does succeed, at least in aesthetics. The menu has a focus on locally grown items. They have an interesting setup where all categories of food cost the same amount - appetizers are all a set price, and I remember entrees were all $17. They also have a separate cheese menu with about 10 different kinds of New England cheeses, ranging from soft, spreadable cheese to hard goudas. For $4, you can get a cheese board with bread chips, figs, jam, and the cheese of your choosing. I don't go to Henrietta's Table often, but I get the sense that most of their menu is seasonal or at least on rotation, because their menu is different every time I go. The entrees definitely seem to be hit or miss, and it's interesting that Henrietta's decided to price them all the same because some are definitely much better than others. I ordered the lamb shank, which was actually very disappointing. I had expected a solid piece of lamb from the menu description, but it came as a kind of pulled lamb stew, which was honestly not very appetizing. Definitely regretted my order, and I would caution others from ordering it unless you are very very very fond of lamb. The most appetizing/delicious entree option was definitely the skillet breakfast, which they still served into lunch. It comes as a mound of cheese, shredded hash browns, and two sausages, all cooked in a skillet covered with egg. However, at $17, the price is definitely pretty steep for some potatoes and meat in egg. The tautog, which we found out was a kind of fish, was drowned in so much sauce and peppered so strongly that it was hard to taste the fish at all over the overwhelming flavours of the sauces. The chicken and grits was a massive mound of bone-in chicken slathered with what tasted like Heinz barbeque sauce. Overall, the atmosphere and the ambiance of Henrietta's makes it a great brunch or lunch place - I wouldn't really think it would be a good option for dinner. The food tends to be overpriced, especially when you consider that the entrees are pretty hit or miss. However, they have a pretty awesome selection of drinks; since it was apple season the last time I went, and there were some pretty awesome drinks centered around apple cider or apples. read more

Celebrated a double birthday with a Saturday brunch and it was very pleasant. They were able to accommodate our party of 11 with a week's notice, and there was something on the menu for everyone. This place used to be a hands-down favorite for us for it's food and atmosphere. We haven't been since COVID, and are not sure what happened but the lunch we had recently was a total let down. Ordered the salmon burger ($24) which was honestly just okay. It was accompanied by way over-dressed mixed greens containing visible leaves wilted to the point of slime. Asked for fries as a replacement but was told that wouldn't be possible. Just the greens was all that was on offer. I would suggest for the price of the meal, they ought to have at least thrown in a pickle or maybe some tomatoes mixed into the salad. A lot of restaurants just haven't come back from the pandemic or are so short-staffed that the have to let former standards slide. A cute place for dinner out, but a bit pricey. The restaurant is tucked away behind a hotel so it's kind of hard to find. You have to walk up some stairs to an outdoor atrium where you will find Henrietta's and a few other restaurants. My group sat outside, which was nice on a warm summer night. The complimentary bread is yummm! They give you a few slices of different types like sour dough to more exotic breads with nuts and dried fruit in them. Our table finished the basket and got more =X hehe.. girls love their bread. We started with a cheese plate ($5). There is a cheese menu with many choices of cheeses. Since I don't know much about cheese, I asked the server for a recommendation. There was a tiny slice of cheese, 5 grapes, 2 apricots, 2 crispy bread things and some jam. The cheese was tasty, but I don't think it was worth it. I got the herb crusted rotisserie chicken. It was quite juicy and flavorful. I would definitely recommend it. Overall, it was a great experience eating here, but I feel like it's pricey for what you get. You have to order sides for your dinner separately, which are all about $5. It is with great remorse that I post a three star review for Henrietta's table. My first meal there was incredible. Memorable. Delightful. I went there for lunch With 20 of my coworkers celebrate the long service of a colleague. I didn't know what to expect but literally everything everyone got looked incredible. My simple Yankee pot roast was exactly what you want in a classic American dish. Things like corn and crab chowder were exquisite. The basket of breads was delightful, the service was good, the ambience is lovely... So then I took my family there on a special occasion. The food was all incredibly average and the service was borderline unfriendly. Yesterday I went alone and just missed lunch, but they offered for me to sit and eat at the bar which was fine. Again the service was borderline unfriendly, the bartender seemed irritated to have to serve me. I ordered the octopus (if there's octopus on the menu I'm definitely going to order it, especially at a restaurant that I respect) and it was just barely edible. It didn't taste particularly fresh and the tomato onion caper sauce it came in tasted like something anybody could make it home. What's going on Henrietta's Table? I'm not sure the problem is in the kitchen, or if it's a management issue (what with all the unfriendliness)... I have visited Henrietta's table multiple times, but first time for Sunday brunch. We went a little late (1 pm) and didn't have any reservation. We were seated right away in a two-person table. Here's where the experience begun. Gosh, that all-you-can-eat buffet!! I loved their fish/seafood selection, cold cuts and oysters. I am not a pate fan, and they did have a very nice tray of those. Breads, crackers, jam and butter. And a large variety of hot dishes (meats, fish and veggies, bacon, sausage, mashed potatoes etc). Also, a to-order omelettes and scramble eggs station and fresh waffles (no pancakes). My favorites: cheese selection (not crazy about the salads) and an amazing dessert station. Overall, good for all tastebuds and a good selection of tea and coffee. I didn't take advantage of the alcoholic beverage list, but next time. Staff are efficient and discreet - we had a leisurely brunch. Gosh, I am still happily full and now I know why people recommend Henrietta's table for brunch. This is the best restaurant I've been to in a while - so glad we found it hiding in the Charles Hotel! Love the ambiance of the restaurant - you truly do feel like you're in grandma's kitchen. The menu is seasonal so everything is always fresh. We made reservations for a group of 4 on a Monday night, they weren't necessarily needed, but we were seated immediately. I tried the grapefruit cocktail and it was delicious, would definitely order again. I also tried the chowder appetizer (amazing) and the pot roast entrée (so tender). I was too full to make it to dessert, but some others at our table ordered the apple pie and the bread pudding - both of which were tasty. Service was great, a little on the slower side, but we weren't in any rush so that wasn't an issue. Honestly I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! read more

Place is tucked away in a hotel lobby. Street parking is first come, first serve. Like any other major city. No worries, there is parking garage around so, don't get your knickers in a bunch. Restaurant is nice. Outdoor seating is also available. Food was good! Had to wait like forever for it though. Come to find out our food landed on someone else's table. And they ate it. I don't know about you, but if a server comes to me at the table and says- Here's your salmon, Sir...and I ordered a steak, I don't just start eating the salmon. But that's just me. I'm thinking they were more hungrier than I was! That didn't bother me as much as the fact we were seated in a room that was nearly empty and rest of the restaurant wasn't that full. Stuff like that always makes me wonder and yes, piss me off. Maybe my money isn't green enough. In the end our server did apologise and took 20% off our bill. So disappointed. The pate and cheese plate where the pate was served way too cold - as if it just came out of the freezer, plus two tiny cubes of cheese. The grain bowl has no nuance, just mush. Writing this a month late--took my friends there for restaurant week and was glad I did. They're from the Bay Area and enjoyed the food. The only disappointment was the corn chowder or soup which wasn't a chowder and wasn't delicious. But the spinach salad with blueberries was amazingly fresh, the lamb was delish as was the fish we got. My surprise was that I took them there in part for the chocolate bread pudding, but their berry cobbler was what stole the show. Some friends and I decided to brunch here hoping to connect and catch up with each other. However, rather than learn about each other's lives we instead picked apart each dish, questioning culinary decisions and brainstorming alternatives to improve our meal. Cold bread served with even colder butter should have been our warning sign, but in New England, cold butter and bread isn't that uncommon. The bread was delicious so this faux pas was forgivable. The cheese plate and pate we ordered as an appetizer was far more concerning. The cheeses, jam and bread did not pair well at all. I adore a good camembert, however brie would be a far more appropriate cheese for the provided strawberry rhubarb jam. As for the pate, serving it cold wasn't the most delicious nor did it work with the bread featuring dried fruit. The bread a very toasted flavor that was slightly bitter and would have worked with other cheeses, but not the ones presented. If sweet and savory were the goals of these plates, both missed their mark with the subtleties of each clashing with the other. This is just the appetizer though, surely our main course would provide redemption? My plate of hash arrived with lackluster reception. When envisioning smoked salmon, thoroughly cooked salmon is not what I envision. My friend thought the potatoes weren't cooked enough, for me they were at least edible so my complaints are minimal. The poached eggs were delicious and the hollandaise sauce serviceable. As a whole however, I expected a higher flavor profile but as far as I could taste, salt was the only seasoning used. In some cases simplicity can be delicious, this however was not the case. Even the addition of rosemary and garlic to the potatoes would be a bare minimum for a plate with a $28 pricetag. When it came to dessert rather than endure more disappointment, we opted to find our dessert elsewhere. While the venue is welcoming, the food is certainly subpar and if connecting with people is the goal of dining out, I suggest eating elsewhere to avoid creative conversations in how to better prepare the served meal. read more

I went there for a family dinner; it was about 10 of us. The service was so slow. We waited forever for our drinks, appetizers and entrees. The menue was pretty limited. The entrees had all these sauces and weird combinations of flavors. I got the potato soup as a starter. It had a film of grease on top. I didn't even eat half of it. My husband got the "iceberg lettuce " which was literally half of a head of lettuce and 4 tomatoes. Both me and my husband got the rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken had a weird aftertaste and wasn't that appealing. The mashed potatoes were good, but not the gravy. The dessert menue was bazaar like coconut ice cream, chocolate bread pudding and rhubarb pie. None of that sounded appetizing so I didn't order any of that. One person in my party said that their salmon was incredibly mushy; he didn't eat it. Overall for the price $20 and up for an entree the food does not meet the standards. The flavor combinations are off and the portions are very small. Me and my husband ended up getting take out and ice cream since we were still hungry when we left. I will not be returning. My girlfriend and our besties double-dated to Henrietta's to experience their prix fixe for Dine Out Boston, and had a great time. The servers were a little distracted, but it was a busy Friday night, so understandable. We started with drinks to go with our apps from the prix fixe. I had the Greyhound (indescribably good - tart and fresh and without any pungent vodka taste) and the fish cake, which was so good I had to hold back from licking the plate. Then, to everyone's surprise including my own, I got the vegetarian chili entree with the empanadas and chili oil, with the mashed potatoes on the side. The potatoes were perfection, and the chili was so good I was delighted to have leftovers. The empanadas were a little less crispy than I'd have liked, but they were really tasty. I was so engrossed in my own dish I barely remember what anyone else got, except that my partner got the lamb, which she also loved. We were all obsessed with what we got, actually. I finished off the night with the Tazo chocolate ice cream, the perfect note to end on. Henrietta's is pricey, maybe more so than it deserves. Wow what a spread! Came here for brunch not knowing it was buffet style. But so glad that it was. We got a table right away and had coffee and some orange juice before diving into the feast. They had a wide variety of hearty dishes that would appeal to most diets. I love seafood and was thrilled they had smoked salmon, smoked trout, smoked mackerel, shrimps and OYSTERS - Oh yeah! In addition to this there were pastas, salads, various chicken and rice dishes, sausages, grilled veggies, an assortment of cheeses, pastries, fruits, oh my losing my breath. In short, there was everything. And all of it deliciously prepared from quality and fresh ingredients. Located at Harvard Square inside The Charles Hotel, this restaurant provides a casual yet upscale, warm and inviting environment. The service staff were on top of making sure our beverages were topped off and made sure we had a pleasant experience. I was so glad we chose to come here for brunch. I will definitely be coming here again next time I'm in Cambridge. read more

It's been a while since we've been to Henrietta's, but there's definitely been a significant decrease in the experience. The ambience hasn't changed. However, while I remember that the food was memorable, it definitely wasn't this time. Flavors were bland and uninteresting. My pork was very overcooked. The chicken was better. The fish was OK. Service was definitely hands off. The waiter would disappear for long periods. We didn't get bread, and had to ask for it after the apps. Most annoyingly, we ordered the yard sale options (2 or 3 courses of our choice for a fixed price). When we received the bill, the items were priced separately. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he tried to resolve it, but his manager would not allow it. In the end, we got some of the extra cost discounted, but it was not what it should have been. Considering the option was on the menu and we specifically ordered it, I believe this is poor service. You get a $2 break on parking at the Charles Hotel lot if you validate your ticket. Not impressive but something. Brunch might still be a good option, but I would not go back for dinner. read more

So disappointing. Good service, terrible food. Burnt bacon and toast, omelet was dry and like a cover on top of filling. Filling was not in the egg; frozen spinach, flavorless tomatoes and one chunk of cheese- worst omelet I think I have ever had. Potatoes were served in a blob on plate, burned on parts, damp on others, not edible. The presentation and food quality was very bad. read more

There was a time when "hotel food" did not measure up to upscale independent restaurants. But I'm not prejudiced by the location, just as I don't frown upon a restaurant in a strip shopping center. Henrietta's Table is a farmhouse-inspired concept that's true to its claims. Granted, some Diners are not open-minded enough to try spices, herbs, & vegetables they are unfamiliar with, while others embrace the experience. Menu Copycat Restaurants are everywhere ~ but Chefs who take a bold approach to their creations are appreciated by a segment of Diners ~ especially those who eat out often & are burned out on the same food that is found everywhere. (That would be Me.) I thought that Henrietta's Table was like a breath of fresh air, & I hope to find more restaurants like that. The entire experience was memorable. read more

The first thing I noticed about the place were the colors. Earthy and warm. Tan table clothes and copper heat lamps and servers in maroon and khaki. I was disarmed and relaxed before I ever sat down. I was here for Restaurant Week, and was immediately stunned to learn that the entire menu (including specials) were available for the $33 "all in" price. Starter, Main, Side and Dessert. I noted that, barring being punched in the face by a waiter or getting impaled by a steak kebab, Henrietta's Table was likely going to get a fifth star out of me for just this alone. Our server affably and patiently guided us through the menu before presenting us with an impressive bread basket (the ciabatta and a fruit and nut wheat bread were my favorites). The bread was followed by a cheese plate with all the expected accompaniments. I opted for four cheeses (Vermont ayr, weston wheel, orb weaver cave aged, and reblochon, the last being my favorite) and was very satisfied. I went with salmon for a main course, cooked perfectly and dressed up with roasted apples. Coupled with the mashed potatoes I got on the side, it make quite a meal. I was full at this point, yet proudly finished a low fat apple cobbler with cinnamon frozen yogurt. Since, obviously, I was watching my weight tonight. I got there at 6:30 and was out by 8:00. It seemed, at least on a Thursday, that the rush doesn't happen here until around 7 o'clock. One note on the clientele - you're going to see a fantastic collection of businessmen, local foodies, college kids who saved up for a nice date, and organic food junkies. They're you're friends. You're all part of this warm and happy place. read more

Location: inside the Charles Hotel. Love: being greeted by this little piggy statue Looks like: my fantasy country kitchen. We opted for their very affordable prix fixe, 2 courses for $35. Baked scrod (flakey, firm white fish) was simply prepared, topped with Ritz crackers! Crunch & that buttery cracker flavor in every bite. Dessert was equally as lovely -- strawberry shortcake with traditional savory biscuits, macerated strawberries, & whipped cream (which should have been a tad sweeter.) Side dish: ears of corn. Thing to note: waitress brought out the wrong entree for my friend, & it took a considerable amount of time to deliver the correct item. In a good way, Henrietta's Table is not as fancy as you would expect a hotel restaurant to be. This would be beautiful brunch spot; maybe I'll go for that... read more
