We ordered a mix of small plates and mains. The Crispy Pork Ribs were easily the highlight, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-order. The Smoked Trout Toast was also very solid, with a nice smoky flavor and good texture. The Tennessee Caviar felt more like a "try it once" dish, nicely presented, but not the most memorable in terms of taste. For mains, we had the Sea Captain, which was fresh and well-executed, with a clean, refined seafood flavor that fits the New American style. For drinks, both the Rosa Rossa Collins and Remembering Ophelia were well balanced and a great start to the meal. The atmosphere was lively and energetic rather than quiet, which made it feel more social and less formal. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the pacing of the meal felt smooth.

Delicious food and great cocktails! We had a great meal here recently. Everything we ate was fresh and cooked perfectly. The service was fantastic.

This restaurant was a great experience, even for a big party size of 15 people! It seems like this place is super popular so you should definitely make a reservation. The staff were friendly and prompt with everything from the start. When our orders came, they looked gorgeous! They have beautiful plating and really incorporate a lot of different flavors into each dish. I especially enjoyed their biscuit which was warm and dense! Overall, I enjoyed our experience here and would happily come another season to try a new menu!

Shishitos, corn tart, jalapeño, fried clams. Awesome combination of flavors and textures!

Had the 6 course chef tasting menu for $80 and really enjoyed the food and experience here! None of the dishes were life changing by any means but everything was purely delicious! It was as if every individual ingredient was a star on its own, but then VERY complementary when combined together, and sourced directly from the farm the very same day. There was also not a single ingredient that had overshadowed another. In my opinion, this is NOT easy to do at all and the chef (Chef Robert) did a really excellent job with this! My personal favorite course of the night was their fried whole belly clams served on a buttery pastry tart shell with fresh corn kernels, shishito peppers, and jalepeno aioli. This was an awesome combination of flavors and textures and was SOOO comforting and addicting. One of my favorite meals that i've had so far this year! Left here very happy and with a smile on my face :)

To start, the service was great, no notes there. The atmosphere was lively inside, but not too loud. I really enjoyed the first thing to come out, the acorn squash salad, with my favorite part being the brussel sprouts. The moules frites wasn't on the online menu, but we ordered it and it was a more generous portion than expected! Super tasty, but the fries might get a bit soggy at the bottom. Overall, still great and I'd get it again for sure. For the main, I got the miso-braised cabbage. Again, it was really good and it was kind of fun to eat the cabbage layer-by-layer. In all, there are several $$$+ options on the same block as Season to Taste, and this place is as good as any of the others. It's not in my top spot, but I would definitely come back again to try their other offerings!

I originally got introduced to season to taste during Covid. When no one could go out to eat and everyone was ordering in. We ordered a few times from season to taste and the food was to die for! I was always impressed with how good it was even just as take out. I went for the first time in person recently and was just as blown away. The food was incredible. Our server was attentive and funny. We got drinks quickly and were steered in all the right directions for menu options. This place is also trendy and upscale a great date night spot. Would also be fun to hang out at the bar and just grab a few drinks.

Gnocchi - very good.

I was a bit skeptical to try out this place, as the menu had limited vegetarian options. But to my surprise, the small plates I tried were quite good. - Cheese and Biscuit: this is delicious. Only one biscuit comes per order. And it comes with butter and pickle. Loved it. - Squash Salad: very good. Loved the taste of squash in this salad. - Kale Caesar: this is incredible. I loved the salad. The croutons taste different, and adds to the flavor of the salad. - Gnocchi: this was so good. It's a different kind of pasta that I had never had before. I was so full with these small plates, that I didn't have the space for dessert or entrees. Even though the menu doesn't look as vegetarian friendly, there are enough options if you happen to be there.

My husband and I went out to dinner at season to taste on Mass Avenue in Cambridge for our 19th anniversary in September. It is a beautiful and intimate space with an open kitchen. The service is casual and friendly, but very attentive. The food was phenomenal and fresh using local ingredients that are in season . There was so much on the menu we wanted to eat that we ended up ordering way too much and had to take some home. Oops! There are two ways to eat here. You can order a small plate as an appetizer and then an entrée. Or you can eat tapas style where you order two or three plates per person. The cocktail list was very inspired and had many interesting offerings. This is a great restaurant for a special occasion or just for a casual but higher end dinner. Be aware that parking is sparse and you should probably make a reservation, especially if you are going on a weekend.

Excellent spot near Porter Square. I must say the food options in this area has really taken off. As a native to NY, I have high expectations and Season to Taste delivered. Favorites included the fried oysters (4 each order), half chicken (the crisp and flavor were fantastic!), and the mushroom app.

You can see and taste the care and thought put into each dish. We had the tasting menu at the chefs counter and the food, atmosphere and service were all outstanding. We had both wine and the non alcoholic (much appreciated) pairing as well. The N/A paired cocktails were excellent, tasty and worth going just for the drinks! Super comfortable atmosphere, no problem having a conversation so not too load at all. Absolutely makes the must stop in Cambridge list!

Nettle Gnocchi

Great setting and service for a family dinner! Tried tennessee caviar (3/5 more focus was on the potato for sure), salmon belly poke (3/5 bit heavy on the sauce and not enough salmon), snap pea salad (5/5 yum), nettle gnocchi (5/5 so so good), fritto misto (4/5 pretty good and standard but small), crispy pork ribs (4/5 yummy but sauce is a tad too sweet and salty), halibut (3/5 pretty dry and overdone), fried half chicken (4/5 a touch too sweet on the sauce), cider glazed pork chop (4/5 a bit too acidic), ny strip steak (5/5 delicious), and maple crème brûlée (5/5 so good). Overall was a great menu, ingredients, and creativity, just was missing finesse in ingredient proportions (would give a 3.5/5 if I could). I would still definitely return to try this again because of the high quality potential!!

Beet carpaccio

I was really impressed with Season to Taste. My husband and I can be harsh critics but I can't say a bad thing about it! We went in for a 6:45 tasting menu at the kitchen counter. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly. Chef Harris was working the line and actually served us a few courses. From start to finish everything was superb. We don't do tasting menus often so it was a real treat. The first course was a scallop crudo (something I never would have ordered) it was delicious! We also had a French onion soup with beef tallow perfect for a cold night. The yellow beet carpaccio with grapefruit and pistachio, monkfish in a savory broth that melted in your mouth, lamb chop with a jalapeño salsa verde and sun choke latke which I loved and to finish the meal, I got the maple crème brûlée and my husband got the bread pudding with ice cream which I would HIGHLY recommend. The atmosphere was casual and cool. Loved the music on the vinyl record player. By the time we left there wasn't an empty seat in the house. We'll be back!

Looking for something good to eat and we happened upon this place within walking distance of our hotel. The menu was mysterious online and didn't really represent what we stumbled into that night. We show up and speak to who I believe to be the hostess. We had some nice small talk while we were heading to the table. Half way there she asked where we were from and we told her "the most beautiful land in the world, Memphis, Memphis, Memphis, Memphis". IFKYK. She was like, "no way". Yes way, I say. She then tells us she lived in Memphis for a long time and this place is modeled after a place she waited tables at while she lived there. Turns out she was the owner. I asked what it was and lo and behold she says one of my favorite places in our delightful town. Flight. I then put two and two together and realize why the menu was so hard for me to understand online. It's just like Flight. You can get a made "flight" of foods or drinks or you can build your own flight of food from all of the choices. Now I'm stoked. I love Flight! I had a nice IPA and C had a nice fancy drink too. We both had soups to start. They were pretty good. We both had a flight each after our apps. Food was good, not great. Portions were insane. We probably left half of it there. It felt like such a waste. Had I known that it was going to be so much, I would have ordered a single dish. Each one seemed like a good sized meal in my opinion. My favorite things were the lamb chops and the grit cake that came with one of my dishes. I poked around at the others some but all of these. C's pot pie was interesting with a chicken tender shoved in it. I didn't care of her other two dishes. The Beef Wellington was fair at best. We skipped dessert as we were so damned full already. Nice place, great ownership, I wish the food was better. Very nice steak knife I will add. That means a lot and pushed the star up one. That may sound strange but I don't care. 26 - 65

Wow talk about a hidden gem!…read more I hadn't heard much about this place so I wasn't sure what to expect-- located in Inman square with nearby limited street parking (there's a metered lot on Springfield street nearby!), Oak Bistro is a medium sized restaurant with a simple but chic decor and true focus on hospitality. When we came in we were greeted and our coats were taken and put away. They have rotating specials that our server walked us through. We ordered all three of the mock tails on the menu -- Odin's Oracle was a sparkling elderflower and passion fruit drink, the Northern Rose was fruity with a slight thick cream of coconut base (and the tables favorite!) and the last drink was a warm ginger drink. They all came out looking beautiful. For food, we started with the Halloumi Cheese which was delicious and perfect for sharing (comes with four pieces), then tried the Blueberry Ricotta Cornbread (really well made and yummy but needed a little more butter spread) and the fried burrata (huge serving of burrata with balsamic, fig jam, warm bread, just as good as it sounds). We tried the Braised Short Rib Croquettes which were stuffed with short rib and topped with sooo much yummy cheese. We also had the Pappardelle braised shore rib Ragu which was truly delicious-- would highly recommend. For dessert we tried a special menu bread pudding which was a perfect end to the night. Our leftovers came perfectly packaged in little baggies with dish names and dates written on them which is so cute and thoughtful! Overall I would order everything we got again and was so pleasantly surprised by the caliber of food at Oak Bistro-- get in and try it before it gets too popular!

Forage isn't necessarily a cheap spot, but I just had a great experience here and do believe it is…read moreworth the price you pay. My partner and I couldn't decide what to get from their a la carte menu so we ended up going for the four-course tasting menu instead ($85/pp), picking the omnivore and pescatarian options to see if we could try more items. We were actually a little underwhelmed at first, but the tasting menu got better and better after each course. The tasting menu started with some of their in-house pickles and ferments. We had some onion, green beans, and cucumbers, which I wished were crunchier. Each pickle had a good amount of acidity but I wouldn't have minded if the flavors were punchier. The first course of the tasting menu was a salad. Visually it just looked like a pile of lettuce, but they added a savory garlicky sauce and a sprinkle of asparagus salt that allowed the dish to feel refreshing and hearty at the same time. The radishes were crunchy, peppery, and delicious, and we were very pleased to find that many of the later courses also included raw radish. We ended up getting different dishes for the second course, one of which involved deep-fried arancini-like balls of risotto with a creamy sauce, and the other had a cold plant-based loaf served with a vibrant garlic sauce. Both dishes featured some fresh greens that balanced the carby heaviness. By the time we got to the third course, we realized that Forage makes their vegetables shine. The omnivore course came with a steak while the pescatarian course had a pan-fried fish, both of which were also available to be ordered a la carte. While we thought that the steak and fish were seasoned and prepared well, the vegetables stood out to us even more. They weren't prepared in any crazily innovative way but the chefs made the natural flavors of the vegetables shine in a way that complemented the rest of the dish very well. After the third course, we added one optional cheese course ($22/pp) that came with even more radishes. The hazelnut shortbread was super buttery and everything went well together. I was already feeling pretty full and was glad that we only got one cheese course instead of two. Finally, the fourth course had a maple semifreddo with seaweed crisps and a caramel nut sauce. This was amazing and something that I'll think about for a long time! I could really taste the maple flavor in the semifreddo, and the cold creaminess went so well with the salty, crispy seaweed and nutty, buttery caramel. The balance of textures and flavors in the dessert was excellent. Along with the tasting menu, we added one wine pairing ($60/pp). We liked some of the wines so much that we asked for more information about them and learned that some of the wines are imported in small batches. After experiencing how well vegetables are prepared here, I'd love to visit during different seasons to sample their vegetarian menu items.

Our server was super kind and very attentive!! Loved that they explained every dish thoroughly when setting it down so we knew what we were digging into. Every item was so thoughtfully crafted. We started with the one local cheese (Moses Sleeper), which was almost like a lighter version of Brie and quite buttery and smooth. Very spreadable!! It came with a carrot bread and pickled fiddlehead ferns, which added a nice tangy crunch to the dish, with the crumbly carrot bread! The cheese was delicious - very light and not the pungent kind. The baked duck egg came in a three way skillet with the most delicious boiled asparagus I've ever had (SO perfectly cooked) while maintaining the integrity of asparagus flavor, plus a nice tapenade on the side. The bamboo rice onigiri was delicious with very tangy flavors. Onigiri itself semi fell apart, but liked the toasty textures. Arctic char tasted and looked like salmon!! Incredibly juicy and fatty on the inside, but skin wasn't crispy and a bit oily. Lotsss of farm to table veggies that I don't normally cook - loved the variety! Overall, a delicious meal where you can tell every menu item was thoughtfully crafted!! I love that the menu rotates through the seasons too. Also, only 4 parking spots in front of restaurant.
