I have been coming here since I was 7 and now I'm 31. Dr Nguyen is exceptional with being right on with my vision. This is the only eye doctor that has got my vision right on. The staff is a long term staff so I love that they remember me and know me. The wait is worth it if you want less headaches and exceptional vision. read more

I cannot emphasize enough how inconvenient this office makes things. I have never left an optometry office without my prescription in hand and I have always had my contacts shipped directly to me. I've moved often and this is the standard elsewhere. They provided a receipt only and when I got home to order glasses and realized they did not provide my Rx, they refused to fax or provide my results. They have no EMR. When I went to get prescription, they informed me the contacts would be delivered to their office. Their office hours do not allow for most people with a job to visit. They close for 2 hours for lunch. They did a good job with my prescription but this is the most frustrating medical office I've ever worked with and as someone with very limited time off of work I will never go back. read more

I wish I could give this less stars...I went here for a few years and they were great. Albeit, crowded, but that's to be expected. Over the years it seems some of the front desk staff have developed, somewhat of an attitude and a chip on their shoulder (especially the dark haired girl with the face piercing...). I went here to update my prescription and the doctor (one I've never gone to before at this establishment-- an older Asian gentleman who might have been the owner?) told me that my vision had changed only slightly, and had actually improved, so he would give me a different contact prescription, and told me what it would be. Right away, when he had me put in my test pair, I knew something was wrong. I told him "I don't know, they're uncomfortable and a bit blurry". He responded matter of factly (and somewhat impatiently) "well, they take some time getting used to, your vision has improved after all". To me, that made little sense, since my prescription had "only changed a little", and had improved to boot-- it shouldn't be that uncomfortable. He brought out a pair to test, saying they were out of the normal brand they gave me, but "these will do, they're pretty much the same". I figured the doctor knew what he was talking, though, so I stupidly accepted it, paid my almost $200 bill, and left. But the problem didn't improve. The contacts kept moving around my eye, rotating, feeling uncomfortable, and my vision seemed much worse than before. So, after a week, I looked at the prescription the doctor wrote, to find that the prescription for each eye was different than what the doctor had told me initially in the office. Thinking that was the issue, I asked the office to double check. When they found I was right, they made excuses like "well you know this stuff happens all the time, he probably just gave you the wrong prescription in the office compared to what he wrote down". That's a pretty big woopsie, especially when I need them to drive. They never even came close to acknowledging they were in the wrong, and definitely didn't even come close to apologizing. But it doesn't end there...the contacts were still wrong and uncomfortable, so I dug around in my personal files to locate my old prescription-- they had changed the base curve, something that we never discussed. Now I'm no eye doctor, but I don't think after having the same base curve for so many years that it would change so drastically so quick, and the doctor not mention it... When I called yet again, the people at the front desk gave me the run around, saying that the doctor must know what he's talking about and I must be wrong. I kept telling them the contacts were blurry and uncomfortable, and they continued to give me attitude, saying (rudely) things like "well, you just need to give it time, you're not being patient enough" and "the doctor knows what he's doing, he wrote the right prescription, he doesn't make mistakes like this". I'd been wearing them for almost a month and was getting constant migraines-- I've been wearing contacts and glasses my whole life, so I like to think that I know my eyes somewhat. After a while, they finally caved and called me back in. I saw a different doctor who took a look and, without me telling him the story, told me yes my eyes improved, but it looked like someone prescribed the wrong BC. I was given a new test pair, which worked really well with the BC reflected on my old prescription, and the new prescription that this other doctor assigned. When the girl up front told me the appointment would cost me, I looked at her like she was crazy and told her it wasn't my fault that this had taken so long. They finally conceded to let it go, and I left, never to return again. Please learn to treat your customers correctly, and recognize that when they say something's wrong, you should believe them! Honestly. Just pay a little more for better care. This place is cheap but you get what you pay for, which is not quality service. After the younger Asian doctor told me I didn't have astigmatism and that my far sighted prescription had slightly changed, I had my prescription updated. I paid for new glasses (ugly plastic frames and not cheap) and then realized the glasses weren't made right. I started to get migraines and dry eye so I came back to get my glasses checked. When I called to schedule the appointment for the glasses checkup, the receptionist NEVER mentioned an extra charge. She said "bring in the glasses so we can change them for you," so I obviously came in hopeful that I would get the correct prescription, but free of charge because it wasn't the right prescription in the first place... Well, the second checkup resulted in the fact that I actually did have astigmatism and that my prescription was actually slightly different! WELL NO WONDER I'VE BEEN HAVING MIGRAINES! So thanks to these doctors and the unprofessional receptionist, I wasted my day, paid for the check-up (again) and now have to wait 2 weeks for new ones. The younger woman at the front desk is super nice and is doing her job and I feel terrible if I was rude to her but the doctors need to realize that people's eyes and "slightly changing" prescriptions aren't to be taken lightly. They accept insurance and all that but doesn't seem like they actually care. The older receptionist NEVER SMILES and NEVER mentions fees...until you're at the front desk checking out. It's all business and they just want you out of there as quickly as possible. Poor patients think they're getting help but most of the kids that go in there are probably not getting the treatment they need. Never coming back. Rather pay $200 for a visit that $100 for cheap and dysfunctional glasses. Actually, my total cost for CHEAP plastic glasses is now over $200 with gas expenses and for pointless re-visits. I sure learned my lesson...don't come here. Trust me. read more

Extremely satisfied customer. Called in. Made appointment. Showed up 15 mins earlier. They still took me in. Filled out paper work while they checked my insurance.glad my insurance was accepted. All went smoothly. Staff was very helpful. First time getting contacts. Helped me thru the whole process. Would gladly recommend them to friends and family. read more

Now I remember why I didn't come to this place for three years. Even though I now live in Torrance and I seen different doctors over the years, I decided to see Dr. Henry again Because I'm constantly visiting my elderly parents monthly in Moreno Valley. Well things haven't changed. Dr. Henry and his Men Staff are all just dictators hanging around doing nothing while their poor Latina receptionist does all the customer service work. While the two male chauvinist are busy doing nothing in their little office gossiping, She was busy on the phone dealing with a line of customers and all I needed was to pick up my pair of glasses and I will be on my way. When the Entitled Dr. Henry came out to drink a glass of water, I asked him if he could grab my glasses. He ignored me, pointed to the receptionist ( she on the phone) and walked out the store?? Who does that?? Now being half Mexican and Chinese It's sad to see these men too EXORBITANT to help their only working receptionist. But seeing how rude, and male chauvinist this place is, I will no longer spend my insurance and money here. read more

I called to ask about exam prices to compare with the office in Costco, it's about the same price. The girl who answered the phone was very nice and very polite and professional over the phone so I asked about making an appointment, she said I could walk in before 5pm and they weren't very busy at the moment so I did. Everyone there was very welcoming and very helpful. I had been going to Costco for many years because I was there anyway. The service is so much better at Dr. Nguyen's office. No one is rushing you out the door to get the next person in, he asks if you have any questions and doesn't walk away while you're trying to talk to him. The front desk personnel are rude and just not professional, specially one of the girls that works at the front desk that is Hispanic and has a piercing on her lip, she answers rude and gives attitude. She looks like she doesn't even want to be there. I called to make an appointment and asked if she could check something regarding my insurance and she responded very rude. I made an appointment that same day I spoke to her but never went in because I was upset at the service that was given. I've been going here for a couple years now and every time it has been a pleasant experience. Unlike some other reviewers, I've never gotten any attitude from the front desk staff, and they've been pleasant and professional. And the optometrist is excellent as well. Dr. Henry Nguyen is awesome. He is so professional and caring. He addressed a medical issue I had with great emphasis on what it was and what treatment I needed. I also have despite the bad reviews a great experience with the office staff. I had a little issue with my purchase through care credit but not to my surprise they quickly addressed that and said come in right away and they will issue my account a refund. Thank you for being an office staff that I really look forward to actually going to because they CARE!!! oh ya and my cousin and I purchased some glasses which started to wear and chip really badly and without any questions both of us got our glasses replaced for free.
