I went in for two lower wisdom tooth extractions fully prepared for pain, stress, and a long procedure... and instead I got the smoothest, fastest, most painless dental visit ever. No exaggeration -- both teeth were out in under 3 minutes total. I barely had time to process what was happening before he was already done. Zero pain, zero drama, zero anxiety. I kept waiting for the "hard part" and it just never came. Dr. Perez is calm, confident, and clearly knows exactly what he's doing. You can tell you're in expert hands the second he starts. I'm sure Henry treats all his clients on an individual basis. I do see that he has a handful of gagging reviews, and I get that because he probably doesn't behave towards all his clients in a condescending manner like he did with me. I remember he was explaining something specific about teeth, and I said, oh I didn't know that. His response... well why would you? Did you go to medical school.? Quite unprofessional!! Taking my 90 year old father ; tooth removal , waiting in the room with my father for dentist . Was asked by dentist , how may I help you . I found it odd , I was asked to leave and wait in the waiting room . Told it was his rule for the past 14 + years , " if you don't trust me with your father" in short ; found I set the dentist off , no one want to upset someone who will be performing service to your family . Awaiting my fathers input to provide review , at this time I can only provide staff thumbs up for great customer service , for Dentist ... clashing personality! I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER GOING HERE! I wish I could give him zero stars. He chipped my tooth and refused to fix it because he did not want to take responsibility. Dr Henry Perez aka PAINLESS PEREZ always lives up to his name. Even my son doesn't fear going to the dentist because it doesn't hurt him. He is the coolest dentist ever. He's very nice, friendly, and takes the time to educate all his clients how to maintain great looking healthy teeth. His team is very warm & friendly too. They ALL have a very positive and friendly attitude. I've been coming here with all my family since 2009. I like their follow-up to remind you of appointments. Besides their regular weekly schedule they are also open on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 7am to 11am. Make sure to schedule well in advance for a Saturday appointment. My family members and I schedule a family appointment 6 months in advance so we can come together. I highly recommend Dr Perez and his team for you and all your family!! read more

awhile back i came here for a dental cleaning, at the end of the cleaning the dentist comes in to follow up. during our conversation i put my head down for a couple of seconds. the dentist immediately became offended and said i needed to give him respect and to look him in the eyes when he speaks to me. i felt extremely uncomfortable in the moment. i am sharing this so those with social anxiety or autism, (disorders that make it hard to hold eye contact), do not have to ever experience anything similar when going to a dentist. read more

I went to dr Perez for a cleaning and he ended up chipping my tooth. I literally spit the tooth out while he was cleaning my teeth. Now my gums are swollen, it hurts and I have to constantly clean the chip to avoid infection. I came back to dr Perez to get it fixed, he was the most condensing ahole ever. He basically refused to fix his mistake and instead went on a rant with medical terms about how it was not his mistake. Like other reviews.. I really wanted to like this place but like Simon Cowell says "it's gonna be a no from me.." I came here because I read all the positive reviews on Yelp and a couple people from Facebook recommended I come here but if I could give this place no stars then I would!!!! The only reason I was so desperate to be seen by this dentist (Perez) is because I felt like I had a really bad cavity and because I STUPIDLY wanted to try out a new dentist and I was swayed by the Yelp reviews. So I was taken in after a 15-20 minute wait. The dental hygienist was super friendly and relatable, she took my X-rays. After that I was taken into another room where the dentist finally came in to review my X-rays. All he did was tell me what I already knew That I had a lot of plaque and that I supposedly had an infection so he prescribed me an antibiotic and some pain medicine and said that I had a few cavities. And that was it, I was dismissed! I was then escorted to the front desk and I was like "when are my cavities going to be filled?" I went to ask the assistant who was in the room with me while the dentist was there and she proceeded to tell me that I first needed a deep cleaning then they'd see what they could do for me. So I went back to the front desk and home girl told me that the deep cleanings are done in quadrants and that it would be a total of $500 I lied to her and said that I would have to come back with cash and a credit card.... All they did at Dr. Perez's office was waste my time. I have a newborn who is basically attached to me, time is precious when you have kids. Well to make a long story short, after seeing Dr. Perez I made a beeline to my old dentist whom I never should have strayed away from! He took me in as soon as I got there! He did the routine cleaning for me and left me brand new! I asked him if I needed a deep cleaning and he showed me my X-rays and said "you don't need one." But then he said " if you want one then I'll do it for you but you don't need it and it'll be $300" (I didn't get it done) annnnd to top it off I didn't have any cavities! I only had one that was on my only exposed wisdom tooth that he took out! I paid to have it taken out but man am I happy that I did so! Check out my dentist that I've been going to since I was a kid! His place is in Colonia- a diamond in the rough but the dentist really tries to help you out and not price gouge it's clients so he can pay for his Clippers season passes. I'm so disappointed in this office. My son had an emergency situation and needed to go see the dentist. The lady "supervisor Annett" was so rude and had no compassion to the severity of my sons situation. They said the Doctor was in Sedation all day However if my son came in for a cleaning that the Doctor would be able to see my son then.?. This Doctor doesn't even have an emergency line. If you need a tooth filled then go to Dr Perez but if you have any major work you will be sorry. Every tooth he touched on my sons mouth had to be redone including a crown he did for me. He is unethical and a crook. The specialist who corrected his mistakes asked me who worked on our teeth. I am in the process of suing Dr Perez. My family and I have been coming to Dr. Perez for 7 years. I have always been happy with their service. The girls at the front desk are always so welcoming and friendly. The hygienist are always so professional and informative. Dr. Perez really cares about his patients. I came here once as a new patient and switched to Vista Pacific after one visit. The office was dirty and not kept up, the receptionists and dentists do not communicate to each other, and they overbook the dentists. I waited for 30 minutes before seeing the dentist, who wasn't the person I was actually scheduled with. During my wait, I witnessed two miscommunications between the receptionists and dentists, which both resulted in an unhappy patient. After getting xrays and talking about the tooth pain I had (the reason I scheduled the visit), the dentist who was actually very nice, prescribed me an antibiotic for the infection but nothing for the pain. She then told me they wanted me to schedule a visit the next week for a gum excision and deep cleaning. She ushered me to the front and then walked out of the office with the male dentist. At the front, the girl of course was not told anything of the gum excision so was only trying to schedule me for the cleaning. She also didn't have anything open for over a month. So after explaining to her what the dentist told me she scheduled the appointment. So altogether, not great. However the worst came the next few days. I was still in A LOT of pain and was only prescribed an antibiotic. I called THREE times the next day requesting to speak to the dentist to be prescribed extra strength motrin from the pain. Not only did I NEVER get a call back, the front desk was RUDE and unhelpful. I soon found a new dentist and called to have my x rays emailed to them. OF COURSE the incompetent girls at the front desk never did this, after multiple phone calls. So my new dentist just gave me new x rays with a discount. I would NEVER recommend this dentist to anyone, they treated me like crap and it was unacceptable. read more

I have been coming here for over a year and I am very happy with Dr. Perez. I was referred by a friend who had a positive experience. He fixed and redid all the work a previous dentist did on my teeth. I was nervous to have it redone because I had such a painful and poor experience with a previous dentist. However, Dr. Perez fixed it all with no pain and all of my dental problems I had were gone! He is very conservative in his treatments. I got a filling redone just today and I did not even feel the novacaine needle going in. He was very gentle, slow, precise and painless. Thank you for an excellent job! Highly recommended! read more

I am beyond happy we found this place. Dr. Perez is absolutely helpful and knowledgeable. He is so professional and patient. My 11 year old nephew needed a root canal and we couldn't find a dentist. He went to two different dentist for consultations but my nephew didn't feel contable and was very scared. So we came in for a consultation, we were seen at the time scheduled with no wait. right away Dr. Perez made my nephew make feel confortable. He explained everything to us and I could tell he has a lot of experience working with kids. The office is nice and clean. The rooms are organized and they have TVs playing movies. The front staff are very helpful and sweet. My nephew got his root canal done and everything went great. I was worried he wasn't going to be able to get it done but everything turned out great. My nephew said he felt no pain at all!! Yay!! I highly recommend Dr. Perez to anyone needed dental work. I know where he gets the nickname of "Painless Perez." He is the best dentist ever! His office staff is friendly - not snooty or stuffy. Dr. Perez tells you plainly what is wrong and the options to take care of it, which is much appreciated. I had a root canal done, and didn't feel a thing. No infection or complications. HONESTLY, if I Could give no stars I would (is that an option?) because of the inadequate service I received here. His staff yelled at my mother(they do not abide by the HIPAA laws which is illegal not to follow) and myself when I was in distress and NEEDED to be seen because DR PEREZ took my braces off too early (he also gave me a retainer that never fit) and because my teeth shifted and then he did not even add all the brackets necessary to fix my overbite AGAIN so I had to go to work and school with half my brackets and wires sticking out of my mouth for almost two weeks and then he gave me a speech on why I should pay for the lost brackets until he realized "he thought I was a different problematic patient with the same name." In all reality he realized it was not my fault and he recognized his faults. My insurance only paid a portion and I paid 5000 dollars out of pocket and he didn't even whiten my teeth or fix any of the chipped teeth that was promised when we first chose him as an orthodontist. I heard a lot of good things about this dentist . And was willing to try since my dentist moved away and a friend said Dr. Perez is awesome. Too bad I won't get a chance to find out . His appointments are over a month to two months out. Sucks for me but probably means his patients like him. Unfortunately he does not administer nitrous which I need since I have anxiety. I have to say getting all this info was like pulling teeth. The receptionist was horrible it could have been her first day. She had to ask someone else for answers to my questions. This place has terrible customer service for orthodontists. He only comes one day a week and his appointments take months to book. There's been times where the dentist office takes just an hour to see him for a 15 minute appointment. I paid $350 for my retainers that should've been delivered to me weeks ago. I had an appointment a few weeks ago to pick them up. It fell on a Saturday which is a day I work, so I had to take a lunch to pick them up only to arrive to a LOCKED DOOR. I called them and on the fifth call they answer to tell me my retainers weren't delivered and that id have to return another Saturday! Absolutely terrible service for orthodontists. I really want to like this place. But by my experience: I figured my first appointment would be long having to fill out paperwork but I was there for an hour before I asked to reschedule. Neither of the receptionist acknowledged I had been waiting so long. I rescheduled for the next day only to sit and wait another 30 minutes. This time I just said I was leaving. They scattered to hurry and put me in a room but that was another 30 minutes since the dental assistants were all busy and now having to fit me in, they were annoyed taking my X-rays and doing the exam. I didn't get a cleaning because the dental assistant said she was too busy to do it. Then when I saw the dentist, it was only for 5 minutes. He briefly went over my teeth and basically told me all the info I needed should have been given by the dental assistant. The entire staff is nice and the environment is comfortable. The office itself is a unkept. There's crayon marks and holes and scuff on all the walls. Oh and when the dental assistant apologized for the wait I explained to her my experience the day before. She asked me if the office was busy and checked her calendar and told me it was but that it showed I didn't show for my appointment and I corrected her that they didn't show for my appointment, I thought that was rude. read more

Our son has a developmental disability that makes going in for a simple dental procedure extremely stressful. He requires sedation even for x-rays and a cleaning. We recently visited Dr. Perez at his office on A Street in Oxnard. His staff were warm, welcoming, and very supportive. Our son was scheduled for the first appointment of the day because waiting makes him very anxious. No one made our son feel bad when he paced around the office waiting to go back to the treatment room. With sedation, Dr. Perez was able to take x-rays and clean our son's teeth. He provided us with a report after the procedure was completed. Dr. Perez helped our son into a wheelchair and personally wheeled him out to our car. To the best of my knowledge, Dr. Perez is the only dentist in Ventura County who is willing to take patients with special needs that require general anesthesiology. While Dr. Perez primarily practices general dentistry, he is an advocate for those patients with special needs. We feel so blessed to have found such an amazing dentist who has a heart of gold! Where do I begin with this office after being a patient for a long time here you would think they would be more professional and return phone calls and answer questions, I was getting orthodontic treatment here for more than 6 years and I was happy at first but then the service just went down hill they wouldn't follow up on appointments and the waiting time to see the Orthdontist was horrible his scheduling was only at the convince of himself and not of the patient I decided to see other Orthdontist only to find out the treatment wasn't getting done properly I requested a refund for the amount of work that still needed to be done cause come to find out I needed to go through a re-treatment from what this guy did not do right! I called serval times and months trying to get a portion of my money back so I can pay the new Orthdontist, FOR 6 YEARS I PUT AN EMPHASIS ON HOW GREAT OF AN ORTHODONTIST HE WAS COME TO FIND OUT HE ONLY ROB ME AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT FINISHING THE WORK!!!!!
