Dr. Arias is gentle and makes the experience of removing a 30 year old crown pretty easy. Not traumatic, and he's very sensitive to any signs of pain or needing to take a break. Dr. Arias has been our dentist for almost 10 years. We met him at the office he worked at in Westwood, and promptly followed him when we heard he opened up his own office in Ventura. We live in Encino, so it's quite a drive (almost an hour), but it's worth it to receive the kind of personal care we get with Dr. Arias. He's always treated my husband and me like friends, and now we even have daughters close in age, so we have the joy of delighting in those special milestones together, as well. My husband came from receiving decades of unprofessional care from his family dentist, so he really understands and appreciates the difference in Dr. Arias' approach. Dr. Arias and his team are absolutely the best. Like most people, I dread going to the dentist, especially to get my mouth cleaned because it always feels like they're going to war in my mouth. Not here. Jazmine (I hope I spelled her name right lol) was amazing. I didn't feel a single thing and I almost fell asleep. Easily the best hygienist I've ever had and she was very thorough as well as informative. She was so nice and can't say enough how amazing she was overall. Dr. Arias was amazing as well. From the time you schedule your appointment to the insurance verification to the x-ray cleaning and examination. Five stars all the way through. I'm in my fifth decade and have had nothing BUT awful experiences w terrible and/or ill-mannered dentists, enough so that I've developed extreme trepidation about going ever again. Then I met Jonathon (Dr. Arias) ... I've never even had a WAITER in a 5-star restaurant treat me w more deference, courtesy, & outright RESPECT. The second I walked in, he popped out from the back & greeted me w a genuine smile & great handshake. I thought I was on a hidden prank show, waiting for a piano to fall on my head, but my dentist hex was finally BROKEN! * Patient Comfort: It's a veritable red-carpet welcome, and when seated, he asked me if I was comfortable in every way, assuring me I was in caring hands. A++ * Bedside Manner: As alluded to above, there just can't be another dentist more concerned w your whole experience on his watch--he laid out each move he was about to make, assuring me I'd be comfortable all the way, even asking what TV channel I'd like to watch in a little window he opened on the screen just left of me! * Quality of Work: I had some *very* bad cavities in an otherwise impossible-to-access area. Dr. Arias talks to you like a friend, not a patient or invoice number (which most have) and he pulled off a "Hail Mary" wonder & not only got to the impossible cavity, but also filled in a C-shaped chip out of a tooth next to my front teeth and made it look brand new ... just outta KINDNESS & CARING, going the extra mile because it's his nature! A++ * Staff & Atmosphere: This is always overlooked at dental offices, but HERE, you feel like you were just invited to a family dinner, NOT a dental appointment. The staff are warm, very helpful, and just a reflection of Jonathan himself--CONSCIENTIOUS & sincerely so. The music is even a soothing blend of '70's-'90's gems, all adding to the relaxing friendly vibe in this office. A++ Dr. Arias isn't one in a million, rather he's one of a KIND, and "kind" is apt in all senses of operations there. I didn't have near this experience w the last occupant of the office, so Dr. Arias is a warm port in the cold storm of dentistry. I used to see the previous dentist here, who was great, and was nervous when he sold up. Shouldn't have been! Dr. Arias is warm, funny, kind, and puts you at ease. I have a long long history of terrible teeth, and dentists who I suspect have pushed for more invasive and expensive work than I always needed. Dr. Arias and his predecessor at this practice don't do this. I feel like he gives me the straight scoop about the work I need, and doesn't suggest the big ticket items before I actually need them. I am so happy with my experience with Dr. Arias. He is as professional as he is personable and I really feel like he can be trusted with my teeth. I had been seeing my previous dentist since high school, so she was the only dental professional I knew and I was reluctant to leave her, but after meeting Dr. Arias, we had an instant connection and I finally received actual "care" that I had never received before. He is patient, kind, thorough, and respectful. He makes you feel heard and is thoughtful with his treatment, always making sure to be conservative in order to preserve your natural teeth.
