I'm extremely disappointed with the service at this location. In my 5 years of retail and management experience, I don't think I've ever seen an employee be so dismissive and uncaring as I have today at this location. For context, the store was empty when I walked in, and my first question was how many staff they had working, to which one of the employees (an Asian man), replied, "2". The other employee came out from the stock room a moment later and we casually chatted about a return I had, which the first employee reluctantly processed (reluctantly because I told him I didn't have a paper copy of my invoice, but I did have a digital copy, to which the first employee said "okay... this is going to be difficult". Alright... not a great start. The first employee then mentioned that they are between payment systems and it's currently "a mess". After processing the return, I showed the first employee my camera, which I had purchased yesterday at their downtown location. I said I had some questions about the basic operations, as I was coming from a Nikon system. The employee seemed somewhat helpful at first, but after asking him how to choose the focus area and mode on the camera, I asked him what an abbreviated function meant, and if he could explain it to me. After taking a deep breath the employee proceeded to tell me that they are understaffed and he has "other things to do", otherwise he would "get in trouble". I looked around, there was still nobody in the store, and the second employee was casually doing something on his computer. I told the first employee I was really not expecting this level of service. Especially since it didn't look busy at all in the store. There were no other customers and there were no calls coming in. I became obviously quite frustrated, telling them that in my years Of retail, I've never heard someone speak like that to a customer. I reiterated that I spent a great deal of money with them over the years, and have been very loyal to their brand. I stated that I didn't expect to get special treatment because of this, but that I did expect some level of service. The employee proceeded to tell me that if he has questions, he only has himself to ask. This basically felt like being told "go google it" which only serves to frustrate me even more. I'm not the kind of person to just up and walk away from a business I've otherwise had a good relationship ship with because of one bad apple. But I can tell you that as someone who was in management, If an employee of mine spoke like that to a customer, I'd be having a VERY serious chat with them about customer service. Service is always first. That doesn't mean the customer is always right. But if you don't have customers, you won't have products, you won't have a store, and most importantly you won't have a job. Research for the product you wish to purchase, watch some youtube videos on product hacks and walking in here should be a breeze. This place can develop pictures right from your iPhone and they have a huge range of professional photography equipment or user friendly cameras for newbs like myself who want a great camera for personal use. Lighting, camera cases, memory card and some cool accessories I didn't even know existed can be experienced at this store. Sometimes the staff can get pushy on selling warranties but once you've done enough research on product quality and care, you're probably better off without it but this is just one person's opinion based on my experience ofcourse. Any water damage or crack/scratch to the lens is not even covered fully by any of their expensive warranties so you're best bet is to take good care of the camera, buy a lens protector and practice, practice at home with your new gadget before taking it out to the real world for a spin. A newer and better camera will be released down the road anyway decreasing the wear and tear of your current one overtime. It's a great investment and it's better to start with good habits. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions and do some price comparison. I normally go on Amazon and see if maybe the products/accessories I'm currently scouting for can get delivered right to my door in 2-3 business days with a cheaper price tag and in my case, that was what I did. I got an SD card $40 cheaper on Amazon than the ones they have in store of the same brand and the sales rep seemed irritated at first and thought I was shooting some BS until I showed him some evidently cold facts that my research paid off before purchase. All in all, pleasant experience at this store and conveniently close to home so this would be my go to place for anything picture perfect related. read more

came in here for a camera, as this location was one of the only ones in the province that had it on the shelf (canon SL2) came here on my lunch and it was a pretty painless process as I phoned ahead to have the camera set aside on reserve. it was brought to my attention that I should keep the original box and packaging just in case I were to have any camera issues down the line within the warranty period, something I always do, but was never brought up to me before by any other henry's. I wish this was my local henry's cause this location is worth going out of the way for. lots of parking, can get hectic around lunchtime. read more

Up in my hood, this is a place for all of your digital camera needs - from purchasing cameras to videos to repairs to accessories to printing and the list goes on and on. Henry's is great because their prices are really reasonable for a high quality digital camera or video camera and they always seem to match and beat out any competitor's prices and products. I bought my precious Canon at Henry's and was very happy with the service and advice I received when making this purchase. As well, I had the unfortunate incident of dropping my camera hard onto the floor once and despite the hefty damage, Henry's was able to repair it like new within 3 days. Great resource for North Toronto crowd or a solid, reputable, photo/digital retailer. I've been dealing with Henry's for years and even when there's knowledge that there may not be and immediate purchase staff are pleasant and helpful on many accounts. While stock can be limited or require ordering at this location it's rare they don't have a lens, backdrop, back, access or even bulbs for my strobe. Henry's has been my go to photography store since I started in 2017. This time I'm ready to upgrade from my entry level Canon. I started with Henry's online chat and got great information on the Canon R6 and also how to transition from the lenses I have to the R6 without starting over. Recommendations were logical and you could see that it wasn't jus to sell new equipment. When I asked about renting to try out, it was recommended that I visit a store to try the demo as Henry's no longer offers rentals. It was also recommended that I call ahead to make sure they had the R6 and the adapter and that I bring with me an SD card and my zoom lens, so I could actually test the R6 with the kit lens and also my own lens. I did just that. At the Thornhill store, I met Shawn Wilson, who was friendly, curteous and provided me not only the same sound advise but helped me with further questions I had on the R6 while I demo the camera. Henry's has always provided me with great service and I would totally recommend Henry's. Since then, I've ordered the R6 with the 24-105mm lens, the adapter, a tripod and an ND variable lens. I'll split it into customer services, product availability/inventory, and prices. Customer Service: It was busy so I had to wait but no problem. Eventually someone decided to ask me if I need anything. A nice young gentleman understood that I might not buy anything but tried to explain things to me. This is probably one of the best service I had in a camera store in the last few days. I don't want to put down other camera or big box electronic stores, so I won't say their names. But big box stores' sale doesn't know a whole lot or doesn't necessarily want to help you. The other camera stores I went to didn't exactly want to deal with novices that might not buy anything. I'm not saying every employee at these places provide poor services. I'm just saying the ones that served me. 5/5 Product Availability/Inventory: They have a lot of stuff and their store is pretty big. I don't think they even need to order stuff for you but they will. 5/5 Prices: Nothing special. It's reasonable but if you compare something on sales at Henry's versus a big box store, then Henry's would be pricier. So, I don't know if they would do the price match though. 4/5 read more

I have always had a good experience at Henrys (location: 330 Steeles Ave W). I knew what I was looking for and bought it with ease. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. My most recent visit however, is beginning to change my opinion. I went in looking for an f1.8 lens. I do not know much at all about different lens and what they have to offer. I was told to buy an f1.8 lens and that is what I told the employee. I went on to explain to him exactly what I needed it for; indoor shooting, sports, clear/light, usually shot from the bleachers therefore I needed the lens to zoom as close as possible to the subject (obviously staying within my budget). He showed me two different f1.8 lens. One was under $200 the second lens was over $900. Not knowing too much about the lens, I trusted the employee's 'knowledgeable' opinion especially when it came to which lens would shoot a photo that looks closer to the subject. I ended up buying the more expensive one because he was able to guarantee the image would look great and close. I brought it to my photographer and he explained to me how the cheaper lens actually shoots way closer to the subject and showed me how it does. I feel as if they used the fact that I didn't have much knowledge in camera lens to trick me into buying the more expensive lens for the sake of the sale. I was also unable to refund it for the cheaper lens. I am very disappointed and mad about this that I can no longer trust the opinion of the employees there. The staff are not helpful and indifferent. They make you feel like you are an inconvenience and they can't be bothered. We called and spoke with HECTOR to ask about a product. He told us to come in that he had it. When we got there he had no memory of talking with us and dismissed us!!! Will never go to this location again. read more
