Henry's Restaurant in Lockhart has become a popular lunchtime destination for my family. Delicious food and excellent service is our typical experience. Great menu and (my favorite) they serve breakfast all day! I have been trying different things on each visit and today I had the Chicken "Burger" which is basically a grilled chicken sandwich on a wheat bun. The chicken size is very generous and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Condiments are fresh and it comes with yummy seasoned fries. It's a very popular place to eat, but they have plenty of friendly and efficient wait staff to serve you. they are known for their delicious burgers and chicken fried steak. Decided to give this place a try after my son's doctor appointment, and was happy to know they serve breakfast all day. The service/server was very friendly but the food was taking forever to come out; so much so that I just decided to leave. It isn't fun to sit and wait for more than 40 minutes with a hungry one year old. We walked in at 10:55 and the restaurant wasn't even busy. I kept hearing the kitchen yell for a server when an order is ready which is a bit annoying. Maybe they could invest in a bell? The egg muffin eventually came out, and it was the ugliest, most pathetic excuse for a breakfast. The English muffin was saturated in oil/butter, the eggs and ham were very well done and dry - breakfast at home would've been 100x better. I took one bite after trying to feed my son, and my entire face feels oily. I normally go to La Cantera for a cheap but great quality breakfast, and today I really wish I would've. Apparently the kitchen has two new cooks that aren't doing a very good job - probably won't ever come back. read more

This place is a hit and miss. Make sure if you order lasagna that they have mozzarella and pasta sauce. I was served the nastiest dish you could imagine due to the fact that they were out of mozzarella and pasta sauce, Have you ever heard of mexican lasagna? YES, they made lasagna with cheddar and enchilada sauce and had the nerve to call and serve it as lasagna. It was disgusting. I should have taken a clue when I saw the "cook for hire" sign on the door. I should have asked for my money back but I was in shock! Oh, and to top it off, they were OUT of french bread. Stopped by on Saturday with my brother for some lunch. Started with fried pickles and they were good. It was the slices, not the spears. I think I saw another review that said they had spears, but not certain. Anyhow, they were good. We both got burgers and both enjoyed them. I got the jalapeno queso burger and my brother got the avocado queso burger. I got tots, he got fries. They mixed up the fried goods, but all was fine other than that. Staff was attentive. read more

AMAZING!!!! I took out of town guests to Lockhart for a visit and since we had BBQ the night before, we tried to find somewhere else. We happened upon Henry's and I am so happy that we did. The building is old with wonderful wooden floors and brick walls, but it was clean and neat. The waitress was very friendly and since we hadn't been there before, recommended a few items. Once of the things she recommended were the hamburgers. The hamburger was the best hamburger that I have ever had in a restaurant. The bun is homemade and delicious. The burger is hand pressed and had the perfect amount of juiciness. The fries were yummy as was the Sweet Tea. The food was very inexpensive, the cheeseburger was around $6 including fries. The food came out quickly and hot. If you are ever in Lockhart, I highly recommend Henry's!! I know I will be going back. read more

Stopped by for a quick breakfast with my mom- coffee was good, food was well seasoned & cooked, the place was inviting and clean. We were in, out, and stuffed in 30 minutes. I don't expect much in the way of service in Lockhart anymore, but our server, Shanna was so great. She was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and anticipated our needs. Very refreshing. This is a solid restaurant, there are multiple menu items I like and they also have good tea.

This year we've been several times and the food was very good and service just as good. That was before the stay home orders were issued. But they are back and ready for business and here's to just as good as earlier this year. read more

I have ate at Henry's many times over past years and years. I like the food it's always really good. The burgers and chicken fried steak are good ,the service has always been more than adequately done. Can't think of anything bad to say about it at all. It's hard to eat here sometimes with smittys being right across the street cause I love bbq. Even with that said I still eat here here about half the time I'm around here. read more

Great breakfast. Several options. Food is always consistent and yummy. Ask for Sybil, best waitress there. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Can't go wrong eating breakfast here. I usually get the Homestyle plate. Crispy potatoes, choice of meat ( I get sausage, nice slight spice) and fluffy scrambled eggs. They also have migas, tacos, and sandwiches. read more

This is my third time getting the 6 oz chicken fried steak, I don't normally eat, every time has been perfect. The staff is really wonderful every time we come in here, super sweet and friendly. The price is also fairly decent, considering how expensive everything is right now. I highly recommend coming to Henry's. read more

We used to be loyal customers to Henry's. Unfortunately, after they switched up management a couple years ago or so, it went down hill fast. The food is not properly cooked half the time and some stuff honestly tastes like it's been frozen and just reheated. Service is still pretty good though and the building is nice. We miss the old manager/owner though. read more

This was a very good stop for a traditional American breakfast on a road trip! It is a cute country place located on the square in Lockhart. Ate there a year ago. Charged nearly $17 for a couple orders of chips and salsa. Was annoyed enough with the over priced chips and frozen Cisco food, I boycotted. I am local to Lockhart, btw. Went back tonight because I was lured in to their Facebook promos for a Thanksgiving meal. While generally tasty, I had to ask them to take the meal back to heat it up. Also ordered a burger to go with veggies on the side (to avoid wilt) and mayo and mustard on side. Glad I checked before leaving restaurant because in the container was the burger with mayo, mustard AND veggies. Place run by kids who don't pay attention or seem to care. Got a free burger out of it. Proceed with caution. This is the place to go for frozen chicken strips, fries And sweet tea. Nothing more. The end! read more
