Ate here with a few friends and it's pretty good. If you like fried pickles, these are awesome!! The batter that they are fried in has a little spice to it and really makes a difference. I ordered the taco salad, it was good, nothing spectacular. The salsa they serve with it was great. We also ordered the chicken fried steak and the grilled chicken salad. These were also reported to be pretty good by my companions. The service is fantastic, everyone is friendly and attentive. The food came out fast and as we ordered it. Came in to grab some breakfast and was not disappointed. The prices were great for some pancakes, eggs and bacon and friendly staff on hand. We sat ourselves by the window, as there were a few seats open early in the morning on a Saturday. A wonderful downhome jewel off the beaten path! We decided to take a small detour into Lockhart for lunch... while driving from Austin to San Antonio on HWY 130. We picked Henry's for some local comfort food, and were delighted with our choice. My BF has the fried catfish & shrimp combo, which he raved about (he very discerning when it comes to catfish!). We initially tried to get breakfast tacos at 2 bar-b-que places without success so we spotted Harry's. What a wonderful find. Everything on them was scratch and the fresh made flour tortillas were tops. The fajita taco was delicious and had fresh grilled bell pepper and onions on it. Great location. That's the only thing good I can say about it. Such potential but the burgers were not good at all, mine wasn't even cooked all the way and a dab of avocado was smeared on it. Very disappointed and I would recommend Dairy Queen or whataburger. The service was poor too. Haven't tried Henry's in the past year but was a favorite dining spot in Lockhart previously. Had a late supper on 7/14/18. Excellent cheeseburger with tater tots. Came from the kitchen too hot to eat right away. Nice fresh veggies. Plenty of iced tea for a hot evening. Waitress was extremely attentive. A fine meal all around. read more

I take my employees to Henrys about 3 times a month, and it is either good or bad. This last time it took forever to get our food we ordered 2 salads and a special, grilled chicken sandwich. We had to ask how much longer because we are on our lunch break. The salads came out and they reversed the type of chicken on them, I told her dont worry, we will take care of it and she insisted that she take it back. Well that took another 15+ min to get the salads back. The other was the special grilled chicken sandwich, that came after our salads and it was a chicken fried steak sandwich. That went back and took forever again. We had to ask for drink refills. The fried chicken on the salad was literally about 5 bites of (over cooked) chicken, the rest was the fried outside. The food is usually all pretty good. They don't have lemons which is a bit strange. They serve limes instead.

I've been coming to Lockhart recently for work. It's a great small town in the State of Texas. I've been trying different places to eat around the town. BBQ. Tex-Mex. Burger Joints. I gotta say. This was my frist time here i meet the owner.as i walked in had a great experience with her . I got sested waitress was great i didnt have to wait long for my drink. The breakfast special is what i order the french toats was wonderful i would recommend it . The bacon was not dry but still crispy like i like it. They have the BEST burger in town, just like the sign on the front door said! The butter bread is grilled and helps take the burger to another level! The wait staff were friendly and efficient. My husband and daughter had the chicken fried steak which was delicious and the sweet tea was awesome! We will be back and recommend it to anyone visiting the Lockhart area. Pretty good food, the seats always make me feel like I need to shower because they feel so sticky. The service is good when I go and the food doesn't take long to come out. Great home atmosphere and home cooking done right. Chicken fried steak sandwich was tender and chopped beef steak was tender and smothered in brown gravy grilled onions and sliced onions. I hate to write this review because I had had a great experience at Henry's a year ago and was exciting to visit again. I came in after an evening performance at the theater around the corner. I know Henry's stays open late as a favor to the theater patrons and the last time I stopped in, I was happy with the experience. This time I made the mistake of ordering breakfast. The scrambled eggs were undercooked. The bacon strips were tiny. The homestyle potatoes were overcooked, hard, and overseasoned. And my white toast was actually mushy. The server slapped down the check before I had a chance to ask about their desserts. I figured it was a message that I probably would have been disappointed by that as well. On a favorable note, the prices were very low. But even at the price I paid, I felt I wasted my money. read more

The food is standard order from food service heat up in restaraunt food. The burgers are good like Moonies Burger house in Cedar Park. They taste the exact same down to the bun. They must have the same food service supplier. So the food is average but the service is often a bunch of high school age kids. So its often more miss than hit with the service. read more

While visiting our son in Austin the week of Thanksgiving, my wife and I took a little road trip south one day while he was at work and ended up in Lockhart during lunch hour. Not feeling like BBQ, we discovered Henry's through Yelp. It's a great little place - very quaint and non-pretentious, located in a cool old building right in the hear of the town. We split a cup of soup (Enchilada they called it IIRC?), a mozz stix app, and a burger with the sweet potato fries. The soup was excellent. Tangy and rich, with plenty of flavor. It's a signature menu item, and I can see why. I'm glad we split it, as it was filling. The mozzarella stix were very good. Nothing special, mind you, but done to perfection...and served with both marinara and a ranch sauce, which I prefer. The ranch tasted like it was house-made, and excellent. The burger was also excellent. They serve it pretty much well done, which is normally too done for my taste. But it was still flavorful and tender, and not dried out a bit. I believe the standard fixings were: lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, mayo. The bun was grilled on both the inside and outside (a nice touch), and had a slightly sweet flavor. In all, the flavors melded together really nicely. This isn't gourmet fare, but then again they don't give you any pretense of being such a place. It's good, simple fare that is done excellently. The service was top notch during our visit. We will be back on our next visit to the area. read more

Henry's is a great locally owned business! they've branched out to San Marcos and, while i haven't been there, i always enjoy coming to the one in lockhart. the staff is very friendly and observant of the customers needs. i don't think i've ever personally asked for a refill on drinks, they've always either asked me for one or gave it to me. read more

Stopped here for breakfast on our way through town. Ordered an omelet (amazing!), biscuits and sausage gravy (delicious!), and kid's egg and pancake breakfast (kids ate it up!). Someone's grandma had to have been back there cooking us breakfast because the food had soul. Super friendly staff and in a great historical downtown building.
