I've filed complaints that the drivers come to my house everyday and nothing is done. I no longer feel safe in my own home and has become sleep deprived. since I did not bend to their harassment and extortion, they come to my house everyday to remove the cover from my vehicle and place stickers. they recently destroyed my son's vehicle he uses for college and said it was like that when they towed it. enough is enough and I've had enough. I pay for my parking spot at my apartment complex and my car was stolen by this company. Updated: Wife, whom is disabled, was using her card due to my wallet being in the car that was stolen by this company. I typically sign for her since her disability directly affects her hands. I was a witness to a tow where I live. It was a,neighbor . His guest was parked in front of the townhouse and was partially in the sidewalk. Well okay that is a violation. But this Henry's tow truck pulled up and snatched the vehicle in about a minute even with the driver 25 feet away in the front of the house. The tow truck driver would not drop the vehicle as they are supposed to do so the cars owner jumped on the back of the tow arms and the tow truck just took off up the residential street not even stopping at a 4 way intersection stop sign. The cars owner just hung on despite trying to get the operators attention. He could have been crushed if he fell off under the car. The law 30C states that if the towing is ongoing and the victim agrees to a 25 dollar drop charge the car has to be released. If the lift arms never touch the target vehicle there is no charge; just drive away from the violation location. About 30 minutes later the car came back to the house with the driver and said they released it from the tow lot. Well at least he haven't to rake a taxi there to get car! The bad thing was it happened on a Sunday around dinner time right in front of the dinner guests! What an experience.. read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars. My husbands work truck got towed because the parking pass was upside down. Still had valid date and time. They were even contacted by the apartment building where the truck was parked and was told that the parking pass was valid and that that the truck wasn't in violation. A whole cop showed up to rectify the situation and a they still refused to let the truck go. They are greedy and will tow your vehicle even with proper documentation even if the place you parked your car (a place that is contracted with them) tell them that the tow is invalid they will keep your car no matter what. I was in a company booked AirBnb for a 3 week detail in DC. For whatever reason my car was "relocated" from 1119th King street in Alexandria VA on July 26th. Whomever towed my car severely damaged my sway bars and bushings. I drive a 2022 SRT challenger. I had to call the police because I thought my car was stolen. They told me it was located on 923 S Royal Street. They couldn't tell me why it was "relocated". But I wasn't cited or ticketed for this relocation. After arriving to my cars location. I did a 360 degree check looking for exterior damages, they were none. I got in my vehicle to go back to the Airbnb and park right in front of it as I was prior to the towing. En route there i could hear clanking and metal on metal smacking the undercarriage of my car. I assumed who towed my car broke my splitter so I took it to the dealership immediately. After raising my car, the mechanics there showed me how my sway bars and bushings were broken and bent. My bushings were broken and unsecured, and my sway bars were completely bent forward. This repair cost me $2900. Every rivet and bump in the road any lane changes my car felt as if it was going to roll over. Absolutely no sturdiness whatsoever. I contacted Henry's auto wrecker company to find whom is responsible and how we're going to fix this. They haven't responded at all. read more

If I could give zero stars believe me I would. I was quoted $235 and than as soon as the driver had my car on the bed I was quoted $580 and they refused to drop my car. I was than told in order to take my car off the bed it would be $160 or they would drive off with my car and I would still have to pay the 580 to pick it up from their shop. This company has three times towed cars of people I know from a residential parking lot in Rockville Maryland. The vehicles were all properly displaying current required decals in the place specified by the HOA on the back window. Today, my vehicle was gone. It had a valid, current decal in the proper place, so I called the police to report it stolen. The police told me that it had been towed and said that they get many complaints about this company doing this, and the only recourse we have is civil, not criminal, and that we should file a complaint, which we will do, and take to social media. Henry's will not return the vehicle, even when the homeowner's association tells them they made a mistake. When you go to retrieve the improperly towed vehicle, Henry's makes no apology and requires you to sign a waiver that holds them harmless from any responsibility or damage before they release the car. I can't imagine that is legal. Maybe they get paid by the vehicle, not just by contract by homeowner's associations. I don't know - but they are scammers. read more

My building uses this "service". I called tonight because someone was in my parking space. I was clearly bothering the woman who answered the phone but she said she'd send someone out. I waited two hours and called back. This time a man answered. He said the person assigned to me never accepted the call. He was going to call the person but if I didn't hear from him in 45m, he's not coming. After an hour I went to bed. Ninety minutes later the driver called. He asked me if I still want him to come. I responded by saying I wanted him to come hours ago. So he hung up on me. He then (apparently) drove over and called me again, waking me up again. I explained what his dispatcher said about the 45 minutes and he got mad and said "fine I'll leave then." No one has time for nonsense. Skip this place. read more

In October 2021, Henry's illegally towed my car from my apartment complex. I filed a complaint with the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection. After they told Henry's that the tow was illegal, I got my money back. Henry's is a predatory towing company that doesn't seem to care about following the law. If your car gets towed in Montgomery County, take a look at the towing rules (available at https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/OCP/Resources/Files/Licensing_Forms/Chap30C_2015.pdf). There's a decent chance the tow was illegal. If your car is towed from your apartment complex, for example, they are required to get "specific written authorization" from the landlord (except during the hours of 2:00 AM to 9:00 AM). Here's what you can do: 1. Take a look at the law to see what Henry's was supposed to do before towing your car 2. When you go to pick up your car, ask them to show you the tow authorization signed by your landlord 3. If you think the tow might not have been legal, file a complaint with the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection (https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/OCP/consumer/filing_complaints.html) If the Office of Consumer Protection finds the tow was illegal, they will ask Henry's to give your money back. 4. You can also sue Henry's in District Court to get your money back. If the tow was illegal, Henry's could be liable for treble damages (meaning they have to pay you three times what you paid them). The only way this company will stop being so predatory is if it affects their bottom line. read more

Being towed is one thing, but being preyed upon and extorted is another. These guys have an abysmal moral code and company structure and should be out of business. Here is my experience below: My car was towed by Henrys Wrecker and I could not locate my car for 48 hours due to a record error by Henry's Wrecker (they incorrectly recorded the model and year of my car and told me they did not have it in the lot). I had to file a stolen police report in meantime. Thus I was wrongly charged for 48 hours in the lot. When I finally figure out error made by Henry's Wrecker and I go to pick up car, I am told by the woman at the desk that she is unable to make changes to my charges and her supervisor is also unable to. She informs me there is one person ("Kelvin Smith") who can make changes to the charges and that cannot and will not try to contact him. She said I can only contact him through email. I am given the email for "Kelvin Smith"and told there is no estimate of email response time or guarantee he will even respond. I am told I either need to pay the (unjustified) charges to pick up car and try to get refund later, or I can leave the car in lot while trying to get the charges lowered and incur more charges in the meantime (and again, there is no guarantee of "Kelvin Smith" agreeing to lowering the charges). This company is horrible, extorts money from people, and customer service is unprofessional and downright hostile. To cut my losses, I ended up paying the unjustified $270 fee and taking my car. I am still waiting for an email back from this "Kelvin Smith". It has been 5 days and multiple emails to him with no response. What's more, the attendant at Henry's Wrecker was absolutely awful to deal with. At one point I asked her to please do her job and try to contact her supervisor or "Kelvin" and she outright said "I don't help people anymore because each time I try to, it bites me in the ass". I was towed from Silver Spring Metro shopping center on January 16, 2018. I arrived at 8:40 AM and was towed at 8:45 AM for a walk off. When I came back and discovered my car was gone, I thought: how do they know where I went? Are there cameras? I hadn't seen a tow truck present in the lot when I parked and I was only gone for a few minutes. I called the number on the sign, and they confirmed they had my car. I took an Uber to go pick it up. The woman in the trailer was not rude or condescending to me (how many other people here have described), she was actually very nice and seemed to be working her quickest to take care of me. She even complimented my skin. It was cold and I was tired so I hurried up to pay and get out of there, not even looking at the paperwork she handed me. I knew there would be the receipt with itemized charges, and photographic evidence of my car being parked illegally (which I assumed would be time-stamped photos of my car and/or license plate). This morning, I looked at the paperwork, and saw that page 2 was a printed photo of ME WALKING AWAY FROM THE PARKING LOT. It was clearly taken by an individual, on the sidewalk near the shopping center, having followed me from my car in the parking lot. #1 - how is this sufficient evidence to prove I parked illegally? Matching the back of my jacket to the jacket I wore when I picked up my car? My face is not even in the photo. It's literally me walking away (though still on the sidewalk right next to the shopping center). That doesn't seem like legitimate evidence to tow anyone. #2 - My parking, the photo, and the actual towing all occurred within 5 minutes. Someone was watching me park, watched me get out, and then followed me around the corner to take my photo and then tow my car. This is an illegal practice called spotting, utilized by predatory towing services. They illegally towed my car from Downtown Silver Spring Safeway Parking Lot. It is a free parking for customers. I parked my car and went to the store for 10 mins. I came back and my car was gone. I called the tow company and their excuse was I walked away from my car when I parked it. I was in the store for 10mins or less. The tow truck company is running a shady business whereby they post people at the parking lot stocking and targeting certain individual when they park, so they can take advantage of them. I was forced to pay $150 on the spot before my car was released. I have filed a complaint with the county on the issue because I need my $150 back. The tow driver saw me walking to the store so how can they lie and say I walked away from my car and that was the reason why they towed it. But the woman at the window was RUDE and began rolling her neck at me when I told her I didn't have my registration because it was in the car. I am writing on the behalf of my friend's experience with Henry's wrecker service. Their name speaks for itself. They will wreck your money and your vehicle. I had to take my friend to go pick up their vehicle. At first, they thought their car got "repossessed" because they were behind on 1 car note. So they waited out 2-3 days and finally spoke to the leasing office of the residence. They said their car got towed. So I drove my friend. They had to pay 323 to get their car out of the lot. This company wasn't budging for a discount even though my friend lived in the residence where their car got towed. They said their car was parked double spaced so that's against their apartment complex policy. So the car got towed on thanksgiving. My friend said I should have known better because it's around the holidays. I said yes they probably wanted holiday money. I give it a 1 star because it was too expensive. They also weren't offering any discount and my friend's car got towed from their place. The lady asked for his driver's license and his registration. They aren't the mva. read more

Cold heartless predators... my best friend and her family were having dinner between the times for two viewings for her husband who just passed away. They parked in the lot which appeared shared with Red Maple and Four Corners pub in Silver Spring at 5pm on a Tuesday night. When they came out of the restaurant and saw the car was gone they noticed a sign behind the trees with the number of the tow company. Upon calling they were informed the vehicle had indeed been towed. After getting someone to take them back to the funeral home for the final viewing she went to the tow lot. This company did not care that my friend had just lost her husband of 30 years and charged her $140 to get her car back when clearly they followed predatory spotting practices illegal in Montgomery County. This was a Tuesday night with many available spaces in the lot and a sign placed behind a tree. According to the management at the restaurant that supposedly the space belonged to they did not call to have this towed. This wrecker service has spotters that watch and dispatch...and you do this to a family at the worst time possible and offer no remorse.... We will be following up with a formal complaint along with a trip to the dealership to ensure no damage was done to this brand vehicle. To those who work at Henry's let's hope you are treated with more compassion then you showed this family when you ultimately walk in their shoes! read more

I understand the need for towing companies, despite the inconvenience of having your car towed. however, in Montgomery county, there are various laws and regulations that towers are LEGALLY REQUIRED to adhere to before taking your car. Henry's abides by none of them. Google some of those laws, then go to Henry's and ask about them. They will lie to your face every single time, in a desperate flagrant attempt to get more cash out of you in a time of desperation. they don't care that they're lying. they don't care that they're breaking the law. they don't care about anything except your money. this is the first company I've called the police and consumer protection board about. if you can't operate a business without breaking the law, maybe you shouldn't be operating at all. read more

Towed (and damaged) a family members truck one hour after it was parked. It had a valid visitors sticker from the apartment complex. A month prior - towed out car - forgot to hang handicap tag but it was in clear view less than 12 inches from the rear mirror and our windows aren't tinted. Another time, family member ON CRUTCHES was parked for less than 5 minutes to go to front desk and get a VISITORS PASS when up to the desk comes the tow driver saying he is going to tow that vehicle! The reason I give Henry's one star is because of the inexplicably rude lady that works at their trailer/office as a cashier. If you go to pick up your car and the person helping you is a middle aged black lady, expect to be yelled at, talked down to, and treated with absolutely no respect. My car was towed @ 7am in the morning! Right when people are getting up going to work. Not between 1-4 or even 5 in the morning 7 am!! Then they proceed to charge $150! Predatory towing that can 100% be chalked up to malicious ignorance. We were towed a full six minutes after we parked in a restaurant lot and were seated at said restaurant. After a three hour ordeal of false accusations and false claims of evidence by the individual who reported it, we got our car back free of charge and were told the contracted driver had picked up the wrong car (not even the same color or make and model) and so everything that had followed this mistake had been an attempt by everyone involved to cover up their wrongdoing.
