Front desk needs proper training. I asked if they have an eye glass screw I can purchase to fix myself or if they can fix it for me. One of the girls replied "I don't know, wait for a technician who can answer that". Tech was busy and seemed it would take awhile as one was training another. After 5 minutes I went back to the front and asked a different girl if maybe they have repair kits. Replied again "I don't know, you can wait for the technician". I wouldn't mind the wait if 'yes' was the answer but why would someone wait 30 minutes for a 'no, we can't help you?' They weren't helpful and after waiting 15 minutes in the lobby I decided to leave. They lost a customer and gained this bad review. read more

My family and I have been going to Dr Rob for 20+ years and would give it 5 stars during that time. I don't know if it's because this place is corporate now or Dr Rob is semi retired, but this place is full of crooks. They take every chance to rip off unsuspecting customers. They totally hosed up my glasses and then made excuses for a month. I had to go to their office 5 times. They have since ripped off my niece and daughter for extraneous charges. Selling them "add on" services that are not paid for by our insurance. "Insurance doesn't pay for this but we highly recommend it. You can do it for $39 and have it done today. Or we will have to dilate your eyes at another appointment and someone will have to drive you." It's a scam!!! What a dishonest way to provide medical service. We have VSP which is top notch, but somehow my daughter's visit was twice as much as mine (I go to a different optometrist). Almost the same visit with a year's worth of contacts and she paid twice as much. Find someplace else. Dr Rob was awesome, but this new business isn't. read more

Doctors here are wonderful and attentive however the lady where you pick up glasses on Saturday poor customer service. If one already with customer don't interrupt and ask later. Extremely rude front desk. There's only one woman working there and from the phone call about insurance to the 3rd visit, she was extremely rude. I asked for my prescription and she rudely said "you didn't ask for it." It also didn't help that Dr. Klimek commented on my -6.5 power as "such a high power." When I told her that was rude in the follow up, she became defensive saying "well it is high" and "I've seen -11 too." I had to go multiple times back because the first prescription was wrong. It's a shame the manager is there to open the door, but not there when you actually need something resolved. I also listened to them hustle an old man a glasses feature they didn't even know how to describe, when he wasn't sure about buying it. read more

I had an appt here yesterday and the staff was fast, efficient and friendly. I really appreciated the thoroughness and friendliness from Dr. Coutier (sp) during my exam. I also had a really nice and friendly experience with Laura, when choosing my glasses, the woman who did my eye texting before my exam (I forgot her name, I'm sorry) and the manager there Arthur. I called the office at 5:20pm and explained that my contact was ripped and wondered if there was a trial I could have until I received my order, they had one and told me to come grab it! The two stars are mainly for Dr. Klemick who is the most thorough and empathetic Doctor that I have had the pleasure of seeing and Dr. Henslick, who took the time to talk with me even though I didn't have an appointment with him. But sadly these great Doctors are marred by their incompetent front office. I have been "working" with the front office for almost over a week to get my medical records ie retinal images sent to me so I can forward them to my referring medical provider, my PCP as their office will not schedule my now overdue annual appointment without these records in place and for advice on what to take OTC for painful dry eyes (the reason that I came in originally!) since the prior authorization they submitted was denied. Let's not even get started on that they didn't even communicate that it was denied to me, but I was made aware by my medical insurance via voicemail and letter sent and by the pharmacy where they sent the prescription. It's mind-blowing to me that an office that provides medical care can not complete the work that is needed to ensure that the patient has continuity of care with their other medical providers and that their symptoms/concerns are not addressed and that they provide such an attitude when their patients ask for follow up on the care that was promised to them originally. Maybe I am just used to the high caliber of care due to working in the medical field myself, but after this experience, I will not be returning to this establishment or referring anyone. In fact, I am making sure to share my experience on this public forum in hopes that others do not have the same experience I did. read more

I would never recommend this business. I unfortunately lost my job due to Covid and for the first time needed government assistance. I went here because they participated in Cal Optima. I have never been demeaned or treated as if I was less than a human than this location. I am not proud to be on government support however its necessary at this point to support my family. The person who helped me today treated me as if I was well below her...she was visibility disgusted with me and having to work with me. The ladies at the counter were great. However the woman at the desk to the left repeatedly yelled "he's Cal Optima" at least 5 times in front of many other customers and made me feel like I was a slug. Do not support this business if you care how they treat "all" people and not just those with thousands to spend on glasses. Go to La Paz Optometry as long as you don't use Cal Optima. They are first class! Henslick should be out of business and the "good employees" should be able to find a better office to support. read more

They were friendly and the female doctor was very thorough during my exam which I appreciated a lot because I haven't gotten my eyes checked since I was a child. Don't bother making an appointment. My husband and I had made appointments online. After calling the day of to verify our appointment times the staff claimed they left a message the day before. Neither my husband or I received a message. They knew they had no doctor on staff because they are out on leave. It's unfortunate. The last 6 months my schedule and life have been equally crazy and I commend them for their professionalism and understanding. I agree with the front staff assessment. I've been going here over 20 years and there has been a dramatic change in attitude. They send out appointment reminders with a click here button to get a call back. Never happens. When I do tell them about it they just say it's better to call us. What in the world?!? Why even send out the email with that kind of attitude?!? I'm looking for another eye doctor. Don't get me wrong, Dr Henslick is great but it's all one package. I honestly don't like this place. I've never gone anywhere else but I've had an irking feeling that I should. Dr. K seems nice but always dismisses my concerns. She jokes condescendingly about my vision and Rx even though I struggle navigating while driving and performing my schoolwork. If they have suspicions you can see fine enough they won't investigate any further and assume any need for correction is frivolous as though you're a child making it up. I suggest to not go here if you're worried about any underlying causes of blurry vision etc because you won't find a viable solution. I agree about reviews of the receptionists. The set up is very poor such that you can hear them making personal calls while you wait. You feel as though you're interrupting them when you enter. read more

I have gone to Dr.Henslicks' practice for 20 years (and my entire family), Monica at the front desk was ALWAYS amazing and did whatever to help in any eye predicament. Over the last 6 months I have experienced rude and harsh attitude from the new staff controlling the front desk. They're rude, unorganized and abrasive over the phone. I'm in dire need for new contacts but I couldn't get an appointment in time to fill my prescription, Lynn verbatim said "wear your glasses, and next time order your contacts a year in advance and this problem wouldn't happen." Horrific customer service! Dr.Henslick doesn't deserve this poor of a staff and it is effecting his business. I would no longer recommend this practice based on the office staff controlling appointments, orders and client management. read more

Wow, this place has really gone downhill with the new staff. Came here two days ago. I had been calling all day and couldn't get an actual person from the office on the phone. The call center picked up but office staff was a waste of time. So I finally make it in and lo and behold three people in the front desk chatting away. They finally noticed me and after telling them I wanted to order a spare set of glasses, asked me to put my name down for the optometrist. There were two there, one of which was already helping someone. When the other got back, he was kinda rude to the person he was helping so I decided to leave. Mind you, this entire time I was looking at sunglasses in the locked case and not once did anyone ask if I needed help trying anything on. When I asked the front desk if I can just call in an order, they said "sure." They rather have me walk away with a $500 order and maybe call it in than help me right then and there. Love Dr. Klimek who I have been seeing for years but not enough to waste my time on this nonsense. My daughter's expensive glasses will have to be purchased elsewhere. Time to find a new doctor for our family's annual check ups. read more

Let me start off by saying I have been a patient at this eye practice for 20+ years. Dr. Henslick is amazing. The office.......not so much. This past year there was a huge turnover in staff and the new staff it's not very good. I had to wait over two months to get my contact lens prescription refilled. I made several trips into the office to find out the status of my lenses. Far too many times before I finally was able to get them. I tried repeatedly to call a few days ago, to get an update on the status of my lenses, and the line was busy for almost an hour. When I arrived at the office I was told that they were swamped but I was the only one there and only one person was at the front desk and another on the phone. Not sure if I will be returning next year. My time is valuable and I felt that if I did not follow up I would still not have my contact lenses! read more

My daughter had an eye infection. we took her in on a Saturday. We were told that they would call in her antibiotic eye drops to a pharmacy. I confirmed the pharmacy 3 or 4 times. We went to pick up the antibiotic eye drops and Dr. Henslick's office did NOT call them in to the pharmacy. I am furious. Not only has it wasted our time driving to the pharmacy to get the medicine, but my daughter needs to start the eye drops immediately and their office is now closed. It is Sunday tomorrow, so we are out of luck. There is no doctor on call in case of an emergency. Do not go to this eye doctor! read more

This is not the place to purchase contacts from. I purchased contacts from them. My prescription changed a few months later. I asked them if I could exchange the remaining contacts. They told me if the box of contacts were opened, they could not exchange them. Of course the box would be opened if I used them at any point and time. It is common for prescriptions to change. This office will not accommodate you, for this situation. Most offices will exchange them, when prescriptions change. This does not appear to be good business practice, or encourage customers to return. read more

They told me they are fully booked for over two weeks. I asked for an extra pair of contacts to hold me over until then and they refused to give me one because I haven't been there for a while. Sadly this place has gone downhill. Still a good place for an exam and corrective lenses? Certainly. But it's the finer points that suffer. Last time my wife called for a special question about her next set of lenses, she was met with a distracted person on the phone that wasn't really listening to her request but took a message anyway. Surprisingly no call back from their office. On my last visit for an exam, I came in for more information on progressives and my inability to tolerate these types of lenses, & I wanted to know what my options were. Instead of dealing with this question & reason for my appt, Dr H became fascinated with the fact I was using a pair of mid-range distance glasses for the computer and short distance prescribed by Target Optical as my primary glasses. He told me I shouldn't be using those as they don't work for anything, to which I told him they're my primary set allowing me to see my phone, my computer, tablet, and the television-really great glasses, and I only need another set of glasses for driving and distance. He went on and on about this and during the eye exam he wrote a new prescription but said the doctor that cut my last glasses shouldn't have, then tells me "you don't really need glasses accept for reading" and said I could drive without them because my prescription is weak, but that just isn't true. I need them to see clearly for everything including driving. Odd advice from an optometrist, yes? I'm still wearing these glasses today and wonder if the Target doctor was better for me than Dr H. At the end of the visit, which was about 20-30 minutes (not including the long wait I had to see the doctor even though I was on time), Dr H said we had to finish up because there were 3 people waiting. How could there be 3 people waiting for him when I had only taken 20-30 minutes of his time - are they over booking? I was ushered out to meet another employee to finish, and still never got my main question answered which was the reason for the appt. This probably isn't a bad place for glasses but based on my family's last couple experiences I don't think I'll be back. read more

I have really enjoyed the experience with the Doctor's here. As for the receptionist, lets just say I will not be returning as they are not welcoming and very unfriendly. On the phone, it is safe to assume they are very friendly and polite but as soon as you walk through the door you begin to wonder why they are even working where they have to work with the public. I was referred here by a wonderful chiropractor and after my first experience in 2015, I thought okay maybe the ladies were just having a bad day. But time after time of returning to the office I have realized that, that is just who they are. read more
