One older gentleman said, "That's substantially more than I expected," and the staff member replied, "you can make payments." Ma'am... even Wonder Woman doesn't finance her accessories. By the time it was my turn, my lasso of truth was practically buzzing. I have great insurance -- $10 co-pay for my exam -- yet somehow I still walked out paying an extra $40 for a retinal photo scan I was never told about until after they'd already decided I "needed" it. When I asked if it was required, all I got was, "The doctor recommends it," which is optometry speak for "It's optional... but we're doing it anyway." The only hero in this storyline was Dr. Pantea Meghdadi -- She is smart, kind, professional, and honestly the only reason this review isn't a flaming one-star Amazonian battle cry. Otherwise? Buyer beware. Bring not only a wallet but your cape and superpowers to escape with dignity intact!

When you walk up to their office you can see they have separate well and sick entrances to minimize illnesses spreading, additionally the lobby is spacious and has nice bright colors. The receptionists process us immediately upon entering the facility, the nurses are very thorough with their pre-examination and are engaged at getting to the bottom of any issues they can address and the doctors visit is always incredibly thorough and they never make you feel rushed - and as parents of young (and sometimes sick) kids, no parent ever wants to feel rushed. The only thing that kept them from recieving 5 stars is that when they conducted an eye test on our son, when the results came back they recommended a HORRIBLE kids eye doctor who had bad reviews to begin with. We went to the eye doctor out of trust that Coastal Kids had verified this was a quality eye doctor and unfortunately it was one of the worst medical office experiences we have ever had. They second office they recommended was MUCH better. I simply suggest that they do a better job of vetting the offices that they recommend to clients.

Stopped by to tighten the screws on my glasses and was impressed by their diverse frame selection. I think this is one of the most professional optometry offices that I've set foot in. They have the recent models. While they fixed my glasses for free, and even cleaned it, I met Dr. Hedayat in the lobby who was very friendly and offered me some great tips and eye exercises as I spend a lot of time sitting in front of the computer. She seemed very knowledgable and professional. I ended up ordering a pair of nice Burberry glasses which will be ready in a few days. They have high end designer frames and they are very reasonably priced. I had a pleasant experience and will definitely come back for my annual exams. read more

I went to this office thinking that this is just another optometry office. But no! Dr. Hedayat and her staff are amazing! They have an amazing selection of glasses and a great taste and will help you find the best frame for your face shape. Their prices were reasonable and I ended up buying a nice designer pair of sun glasses (the one James Bond wore in the last movie). Dr. Hedayat also takes extra care and precision and made sure my prescription was perfect to my liking. Yes, I am super picky. She seemed like a very kind, approachable and humble doctor. I went in for a visit at Excel Optometry to check the condition of my eyes. I have made several visits with other Optometry Offices before but this is the place where I felt most comfortable. Aside from being the kindest, Dr. Hedayat is excellent, very professional and very thorough with my eye exam. She went through all the important details with me to make sure that I understand what I need. Her staff Christine & Carleen are very efficient and friendly. I first heard about Excel Optometry through a mailer I received. The timing was right for me, so I called. I was happily surprised by the quick and friendly response I received - as well as the flexibility to accommodate my busy schedule to get me in. My wife made an appointment with Excel Optometry as a new patient for an exam and to replace broken glasses. When she arrived at that appointment two weeks later, they said she didn't have an appointment at all, however she was in their system. As a new patient, why would she be in their system if an appointment hadn't been made? The person at the desk did say "sorry about that" Such an inconvenience! However, the experience with the front desk/optometric technician has been consistently uncomfortable. I have visited three times, and each time I was made to feel "stupid" for asking basic questions. Rather than being helpful, the technician would give me a stare like I was a burden, which made me feel extremely unwelcome. Beyond the attitude, the technical service was disappointing. After waiting over a month for my Metas, they arrived and rested right on my cheeks (which the sample pair didn't do). When I raised this concern, the technician dismissively told me they are "universal frames" and offered no help. It feels like the measurements taken by the optician didn't matter. Now I have to buy my own nose bridge inserts to prevent the glasses from causing acne and skin irritations. I want to continue seeing Dr. Grichine, but the lack of kindness and technical support from the staff makes it very difficult to return.

Usestate of art equipment and give choices on what piece of equipment may be best for you. Last year Dr. DeMoss discovered an ulcer in my left eye and immediately called Harvard Eye Clinic who took me the next day. Two eye surgeons looked at the ulcer and immediately took pictures and optical equipment to see how bad the ulcer was. They treated the ulcer right away with eye drops and salve. Thus, saving my left eye vision.
