Beautiful store and nice merchandise. However, they seem to have too many staff working so they follow you around, which makes it uncomfortable to shop. As a small business, you don't always get the sense that the owners truly appreciate your business, especially when shoppers can just order from the company/manufacturers directly online, vs. buying at their store. I stopped in looking for a Valentine's gift for my six-year-old daughter. She loves jewelry but tends to fidget and pull too hard on elastic necklaces and bracelets. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the jewelry here is elastic necklaces, etc. Lots of the more basic brands (sorry). But then I realized I was specifically being followed around the store by an employee. Every time I touched something, she was feet away and staring me down. There were plenty of other customers. I can't even tell you what made me look like the person who would shoplift. I was in my gym clothes and had only a tiny purse with me. Watch out the scam! They were having a presale for their special deal "get free Pandora bracelet with 100$ purchase" when I went to their store few days ago. I am a huge fan of Pandora and couldn't pass the great deal. I found two charms that I like from their brocure and pick two. The prices on brocure/flyer were 45$ and 55$ each. The girl who assisted me also said the prices of them are 45 and 55. When I said to her, "Oh perfect! So those are 100$ exactly!", she said, "Yes" then put those two charms on a free bracelet. When I gave her my credit card and look around the store, I saw an older lady who looks like a manager or her boss walked to the registry and told something to the girl who assisted me. Then, this girl suddenly said to me, "To get a bracelet, you need to pick another one. I made a mistake with price. It is 95$, not 100$. Here, I can show you the other things " I asked her, "What are the prices?" She said, "45$ and 50$. This one is 50$ not a 55$. Sorry I made a mistake" Well, She made a mistake for her boss but not me. Oviously, they werr scamming me. On the brocure/flyer says it is 55$. On Pandora website says it is 55$. The girl initially told me it is 55$. But whoever the older lady is, she decided to lie to me about the price so make me spend more than 100$. The girl asked me if I want to get a matching charm with the one I just picked, which is originally 55$ but she said it is 50$. I wonder if I would get a matching charm(exactly same but different letter on it), how much would she charge me? Still 50$ instead of 55$? lol If they were honest and told me, "We are going to give you a 5$ discount if you pick one more charm.", I wouldn't feel insulted. Did they think I am stupid and cannot read numbers? lol read more

Nice local shop that carries quite a few brands from Brighton to Alex and Ani to Pandora to Vera Bradley, etc. I rarely walk out of here empty handed. Customer service has always been fine and they even noticed that my hands were sort of full and offered to hold them at the counter while I continued to shop. I was most recently here around the holidays and they gift wrapped all my items free of charge. Definitely one of my go to places in the area when looking for a gift for my wife or Mom. I also like the fact that they take Apple Pay here! read more

Went to exchange a Christmas gift. Had the gift receipt, Her Hide Out gift bag and Britton pouch. They would not return the item because there was no tag on the bracelet​. I was just given the gift for Christmas and wanted to exchange it. There was no paper tag on the bracelet when I received​ it. Will never shop here again after the way I was treated. Shame, too, because​ I was willing to spend much more on the item I wanted verses the amount of what I was exchanging. read more

This shop is my go to for gifts. Nice ambiance, family owned and operated, a myriad of options to choose from including Alex & Ani, Pandora, Brighton and so many others. Staff is very friendly & helpful without being overbearing. Feel free to browse all afternoon but if you need help putting together the perfect gift, these ladies are more than ready to help with suggestions and wrapping those last minute gifts. I've recently experienced 2 situations which prompted me to write this review where Her Hideout provided excellent customer service. First, one of my hardly worn Alex & Ani bangles broke due to a manufacturing defect. I sent my teen daughter in with it, no tag or receipt, and they gladly exchanged it after checking their records to confirm that it was bought there. My daughter said it was no big deal which is amazing coming from a teenager. Secondly...just tonight...I called looking for a specific bracelet for a last minute gift for someone special. They had it but the store was closing in 15 minutes. I flew up there..3 minutes late.. and they not only waited for me but they had my bracelet waiting for me, already gift wrapped! I try to buy local and support small businesses regularly but this shop has earned a lifetime customer on their merit alone. Outstanding! read more

Went in there today 12/30/2018 and was looking for a specific bracelet. I was waited on by a middle aged woman with brown hair. She made sarcastic comments about the purpose of the bracelet to me. I then watched her go over to another sales associate and started gossiping about me. I found this to be extremely unprofessional and unnecessary. I will never shop there again. read more

Lovely store..Awesome selection. My favorite store for gifts for ladies..I had one issue with sending a friend to exchange something. I was very upset , they told me friend it wasn't from their store. I had it gift wrapped from there and they always ask if you are on their email list before ringing up the purchase. While I absolutely love the jewelry, the staff isn't pleasant. There is one woman in particular, older, not sure of her name, in her 50's I believe, that was so rude. She followed me around the store, and it was packed, but was literally over my shoulder until someone asked her for help. I was looking at a bracelet and ended up putting it back bc I initially went there for a certain necklace. I got the necklace, paid for it, and had the bag in my hand, while I was walking out, I took the necklace out and wanted to put it on bc I was so excited to have it. She ran up to me and accused me of shoplifting. I showed her my receipt and she didn't even apologize. Just walked away very smug. I was so upset, I left in tears. Two customers approached me and said how embarrassing that must have been and they felt so bad for me. An apology would have meant everything. But she was too proud apparently. I went in to purchase some Alex and Ani bracelets for my sister's birthday. I was ignored and made to feel very unwelcome during my whole shopping experience. I took it a little personal because the other two customers were being helped while I was ignored. It wasn't until the sales lady knew I was there to spend money that she seemed to lighten up a bit. I went to their website and left an honest review. That same night I received a response from the owner who apologized about making me feel unwelcome and said she did not pass judgment on me as I had thought. She explained that her sister was the other woman I was upset with and they had just found out their grandmother had cancer. I felt the email was a little sarcastic and not sincere. I also felt that telling an upset customer about your personal issues to try to make them feel bad for expressing a concern was extremely unprofessional. I wrote back saying I was really sorry about her grandmother but obviously customers don't know that when they just come in to buy something. All I wanted was to make a quick purchase and leave. I understand personal things can get you down but if it's going to affect how you run your business then maybe you need to take some time off until you are okay. The only reason that I gave this shop 2 stars instead of 1 is because the one lady there actually greeted me (after I had walked past the other two) and was nice to me during checkout. read more
