Finally got to try this place and had an absolutely incredible experience and meal. Started off with the crudo which was so fresh and flavorful - definitely on of my favorite courses of the night. The roasted lamb was so delicious as well. It was so tender melted in my mouth. The arugula and fresh pecorino on top complemented the dish perfectly! Two other standouts were the mushroom tortelli and the rhubarb frangipane dessert. The tortelli was soft and pillowy cooked with cremini mushrooms and brown butter - and you can never go wrong with pasta. Lastly, this dessert blew me away. I never had rhubarb before but it was tart and paired nicely with the delicious vanilla whip. I love almond flavoring so the frangipane was up my alley. I would definitely love to return and try some new dishes.

Finally made it to Her Place and already dying to go back. We loved every bite of this meal! I especially enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's not uptight or stuffy despite having the Michelin recognition. Amanda was chatting with us while she prepped different dishes and was super friendly. I'm seriously impressed with the quality and quantity of food for $97/person. We opted to add on both specials and were properly stuffed, you certainly don't need to add any specials, there's plenty of food without them, but I highly recommend you do! The pasta special (pesto pasta) was one of my favorite bites.

Finally made it to her place and wow! The food was aweomseee. I was a little nervous at first because it was a seafood heavy menu and I can be picky with seafood but I enjoyed every dish! The chef talks about each dish which is really cool. Its super small in there, it feels like your actually at a dinner party. I absolutely loved the decor. They gave us a warm chocolate chip cookie at the end and it was one of the best ive ever had. It was a set menu and every dish was unique and delicious. Would love to get back here again! My faves were the lamb and the tortelli. 10/10 chefs kiss

Newly awarded a Michelin star, this restaurant has definitely earned the honor! The food was delicious and well prepared. Pay attention to the dates reservations are released on as they only have about 24 seats and tables go quick! Their tasting menu was fantastic and filling - at a great price as well. We had the passionfruit old fashioned as well.

After a long wait, I finally snagged a reservation on Halloween night at this amazing place. My best friend was flying in from Charlotte and we were spending the weekend together to celebrate her birthday and this was the ideal place to do it! There are eight tables and two bar seatings at this quaint yet comfortable place. You really feel like you're in someone's home being very well care of! The menu changes every two weeks and we were there when they just started their autumn menu. The service is exceptional. Each course is so well thought of each course was better than the next. You can also choose to add one or two additional courses in addition to the standard fair. We opted for both and we're happy that we did. It's an incredible place and the whole atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. The staff even signed a birthday card for my friend and sang happy birthday and even made a special birthday cake for her and the two other people who were celebrating. There's a reason this place is one of the top 10 restaurants in Philadelphia! I can't wait to return.

4-stars for Philly's Princess, Her Place? Yes, I know and I'm sorry. Her Place's reputation precedes it and for good reason. The concept is impressive but I left feeling like it was overhyped. If you live under a rock and haven't heard the buzz about this place, it's incredibly small, reservations required, and tasting menu only. They are only open during the week, too. That's right, no Saturday or Sunday hours. We managed to snag a reservation last minute or more specifically, my boyfriend did. This place was high on his list of spots to check out while visiting Philly. I was interested but not particularly thrilled considering the menu does not accommodate for dietary restrictions, and being gluten free, that's not the best sign. The restaurant did their due diligence and warned us of this by email and recommended we check out their sister restaurant, My Loup, instead but we threw caution to the wind -- whatever I couldn't eat I'd avoid. Looking back, I would've just skipped this place altogether and if you have dietary restrictions, I recommend you do, too. It just won't be the same experience. Again, in all fairness, the staff did warn us about this. We were seated at possibly the worst table I've ever been seated at in the history of restaurants. It was right by the door, actually almost in front of the door. Fellow patrons had to literally squeeze behind the back of my chair to get by and I couldn't help but think how it was lucky I'm a relatively mid-size person because for anyone larger, this would be a very uncomfortable seating arrangement. There were no hooks for purses or tote bags, of which we had two, and no one offered to hang them up so they sat on the floor. I didn't want to put my purse on the back of my chair because again, my chair was in front of the door and I didn't like the idea of it being out of sight and easily accessible to anyone walking in. Our table seemed smaller than the rest (or at least turned more horizontal than vertical to account for the small space) so things got crowded fast between the water, wine, candle, and food. Did I spill my entire glass of red wine and did it immediately stain our bags sitting on the floor? Of course I did. Might I suggest Her Place invest in some hooks? "Supper club" is certainly an accurate way for them to describe themselves but the quaint and friendly environment you'd expect was lacking. Other servers seemed to be chatting it up warmly with their guests but our server was oddly cold. I thought I was just getting in my head about it (the whole "spilling red wine everywhere in the first 20 minutes of the meal" didn't make me feel right at home), but my boyfriend also noticed the distant interactions. She only started to ask us questions about ourselves about halfway through the meal and interactions were brief and almost curt. The most warming interaction of the night was with one of the chefs who came around handing out sourdough chocolate chip cookies to each person. She was so friendly and seemed grateful we were there. I'm writing this review a few months after the experience and can honestly say I don't remember the rest of the food off the top of my head. Do I remember it being good? Sure, but nothing stands out the way you'd expect a meal like this would. What does stand out is feeling packed in like a sardine and the standoffish service.

Simply incredible. Also my most expensive meal to date but well worth it imo The setting is intimate and staff are very attentive. There is a description of each course beforehand. All the ingredients are locally sourced and extremely fresh. The way they create the dishes enhances the ingredients flavors and meld together seamlessly.

finally got to try her place after they received a michelin star! the service was great, everyone was very kind. we did get there a little early & unfortunately everyone had to stand outside in the freezing cold which sucked it's nice and cozy inside - very small space with an open kitchen. onto the food, it was all pretty good! my favorite was definitely the beef tartare and the mushrooms. SOOO good! super flavorful. we did add on the beef cheek cavatelli which was delicious! to be honest, if we didn't have the add on i'm not sure if we would be full at the end of our meal haha overall it was a nice experience & i enjoyed how we ended dinner with a mini cookie straight out the oven & a little bag of duck fat chex mix! they also passed out notebooks to each table so we could leave a message. their menu changes every 3 weeks :) i would come again!

    Pecorino popovers (our favorite!!)

Amanda Shulman's Her Place Supper Club is a cozy, intimate, all women-chef powerhouse. I'd recommend only going for birthdays, but the high price tag does reflect the large portion of food! --- The menu rotates every few weeks, Tock reservations are mandatory and there are 6 PM and 8:30 PM seatings- 2 hours of dining time. You will not be seated early. There are no dietary accommodations and no substitutions. I dined on the first day of their summer bone in fillet menu, and it was such a treat. The dining experience is broken up into appetizer courses, break, entree courses, break, and then dessert. There are always optional add-ons (extra $$) which can be added after the appetizers. If you don't get the add-ons, you just sit around until other patrons are done eating to continue your meal wherever the set menu paused. The food is plated for 2 to share for most appetizers, and of your own portion for the entrees. My table's favorite offerings were the pecorino popovers, crab cake, and bone in fillet. Everything was cooked to perfection and the menu was cohesive. The popovers were unbelievably fluffy, tender, and creamy. The crab cake was large and juicy. The bone in fillet was one of the best pieces of steak I've ever had- melt in your mouth tender. We felt the corn cappellettis were also very interesting, if not a bit too sweet. Overall, we were a little split on the rest of the set menu items- everything was cooked well but we disagreed on flavors. I personally felt many things were too salty/sweet, while others thought they weren't salty/sweet enough. However, I still would classify this meal as one of the most memorable I've had in a while based on the experience. Although I know the small, dark, and cozy interior is part of the charm for some, I felt it made my dining experience really negative. The seating had ~8 small tables, and some limited kitchen counter seating where you can watch the food being cooked and speak with the staff, which seemed pretty cool! As an inherent issue with any set menu and because the tables are small, if you don't eat fast enough to "keep up" with the speed of service, there isn't much room to place other plates, so I felt very rushed as a slow eater. As a small space, I felt the restaurant was very loud, which for me didn't reflect an intimate dining space. Lastly, the service was phenomenal but hurried. After the initial check in for drink orders, the wait staff was quick to replace utensils, bring plates, and clear them. However, as all staff was working at light speed to keep up with the courses, our table found it difficult to flag anyone down for anything "more", like more water, order more drinks, or to take a photo. I even put my hand up and was ignored and gave up. As my group was there to celebrate a graduation and indicated it on the reservation that we had a "celebration," we were sad to see it was never acknowledged. The guests' who were there to celebrate their birthdays had party hats at their seats, were serenaded with the birthday song, and received an extra small "dessert." It wasn't a big deal, but felt a little disappointing seeing all the fanfare for birthdays and receiving no acknowledgement for other "occasions." The set menu was priced at $125/pp, we got two additional plates, and our final rounded cost was $195/pp. For the amount of food and courses, we felt it was definitely fair! However, I personally would only recommend going for birthdays.

If i were to recommend this place, i would say stick to the tasting menu and avoid the overpriced (more than other places) alcohol. Go get drinks beforehand or afterwards - bc it's not worth it. Maybe get one add on if you know you'll like it because it's def not worth the price tag in my opinion. Overall, i dont think the price is synonymous with value. The food is delicious... But cozy, nothing blow your mind and overpriced with cheap ingredients. Also felt it was disjointed as a whole meal along with the ambience and playlist. I don't think it's a very good value for the experience.

Eight small tables, decorative prints, and an open kitchen concept welcome you into Chef Amanda Shulman and her team's supper club nestled on 17th and Sansom. After seating, you'll find a list of the evening's dishes, which rotates once every three weeks. On the back of the menu also features the list of sources for their ingredients--all local! In between each course, the kitchen team shares how the dishes are prepared and a breakdown of each dish. There's also add-ons to the pre fixe lineup, of which we couldn't resist indulging into. Our heavy favorites included both the add-on scallops, sourced from New Jersey, and the pork chop, that featured a special cut that highlights the marble and fat. The meal overall consisted of roughly four small bites that served as the first course, then our two pasta dishes, the pork chop, and finalized with a delicious strawberry shortcake. While the restaurant serves high-end quality food, it's an at-home feel that makes you feel connected to the tables around you. The end of the meal presents a small notebook you can leave custom notes for the team, which I thought was a special, approachable touch. The restaurant opens RSVPs once every three weeks, and the spots go quick! It truly met the expectations I believed in, and at $95/person for the seating, Her Place stands among the top spots in the city.

So I really love this model. Dinner U.S. such a difference when you do this type of place. In a nutshell- only like 8 tables with a couple at each. 8:30 to 10:30. They serve you things you can share. All ingredients are local. They wine and dine you. Between each dish they explain what it is and how it is prepared. Reminded me of Brush land eating up in the Hudson valley. I think the preselected menu really allows the people preparing the meal to shine. The food was to die for. The lamb was cooked to perfection. We got scallops that were absolutely delicious. I'm even normally afraid of eating rabbit but it was shredded and deep fried and holy Sheet! My favorite thing was the beef tartare. It had mushrooms and tiny little potato chips on top. I could've eaten more of that all night. I guess there is no use in describing each dish because it will never be the same. A little cramped. Just hard to get the real Immersive experience. However, it was cool that they asked us to talk to our

Lives up to its name of being a supper club, a very cozy dining room with only room for 24 guests per service so getting a coveted seat may take some time. The ambiance was just right, dim comfy lighting, relaxed decor, and a view right into the kitchen. Chef Amanda paused the room every few courses to explain the dishes and give some back story. Each course was unique with skill and presentation, with the unifying piece being the amazing sauces used for each course. The ingredients all mingled so well. Various textures and tastes balanced within each course. The squash dish was one of my favorites - had a bit of sour and sweet, soft and crunchy. Fried ring on top of soft squash ring. Sweet and tart sauce with blue cheese and hazelnuts. The francobolli and duck l'orange also both had a wonderfully creamy sauce. Nothing was overpowering either, you could taste individual flavors so well. I opted for the swordfish addition in a saffron sauce, though this was a bit more subtle. Swordfish steak was just perfectly juicy and tender. Closing out the meal was a warm apple tart which was quite large, topped with grated sharp cheddar. Definitely remembering that trick for my own baking, it complemented the apple so well. A nice scoop of vanilla also came with on the side. We were also treated to a small cookie and some duck fat barbecue Chex mix to take home which was a nice touch to close out the meal. This was a well put together tasting menu with amazing ingredients and cooking skills on display to enjoy. Thanks

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I've had. We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived at 7:15 PM. I acknowledge that we were late and apologized to the host. However, we arrived within the stated grace period. When we checked in, the hostess explained that because we arrived later within the grace period, our 90-minute seating window would still end based on the original reservation time. We acknowledged that and had absolutely no issue with it. What made the experience uncomfortable was how aggressively we were reminded about the time throughout the entire meal. We were reminded at least 5-6 separate times how much time we had left. Comments like "just so you know you have 25 minutes left" and "our next party is coming in 5-10 minutes" made it feel like staff was actively trying to rush us out before our reservation time had even ended. Mind you, we already understood the policy. One reminder would have been enough. Instead, it completely changed the energy of the evening and made us feel unwelcome and pressured to leave. We had originally planned to stay through our reservation and then move to the bar for the live music afterward, but after being repeatedly rushed, we decided to leave entirely and spend the rest of the night elsewhere. The most disappointing part was the interaction with the manager, Eric. Rather than listening or showing any understanding, he immediately became defensive and aggressive. He repeatedly insisted we were "15-20 minutes late," which was simply not true -- we arrived during the stated grace period. The issue was never the policy itself. It was the way we were treated throughout the night. It's unfortunate because this has genuinely been one of my favorite spots in Philly, and I've recommended it to multiple people. From the outside, it looks like you're walking into an old bank. Inside, it's just about 6:00 PM and the place is packed for happy hour (one of the few places, by the way, that has happy hour until 7:00 PM) and for one of the monthly talks sponsored by local science museums. As soon as I walked in, they found us an open spot right up front. A cheery waiter took our order - the $8 burger sliders didn't come with any fries, but they were tiny and delicious. I love the idea that this place sponsors monthly science talks. Just a bunch of nerds all gathered here to listen to local experts talk about different topics. One week it might be about rare Galapagos birds to how to preserve fossils or the etymology of vampire lore.

THIS breakfast burrito is excellent. Service is also great here and I love the building/space!

The live band was great, the vibe was lively, and people were actually dancing instead of just sitting around pretending they're "listening." Food was good, service was easygoing, and the best part: zero pressure. They have a minimum spend, but they don't play games with it. Hit the minimum however you want, drinks or food, your choice. Other places love to force both, which is basically a tax on having fun. Not here. Why not 5 stars? The place is a bit dated. Our booth was literally held up with tape and the cushion situation was... let's call it "vintage springs." I heard they're planning a remodel, and if that happens, this becomes an easy 5. Until then, it's a very fun 4 and I'd absolutely come back.

Most of the clubs we saw were more for eating/drinking while listening to music but didn't offer the dancing component. If you want to just listen to the music while enjoying your food/drink then sitting at the bar is free. To sit in the back area where the band and dancing is, there is a $15 cover fee. We didn't order any food and my friend did order some drinks but I'm not much of a drinker so I can't comment on that. We enjoyed the music and watching the regulars dance. A couple regulars were very nice and brought us out onto the dance floor to show us some simple moves! Unfortunately this place is closing at the end of December. It's really sad that it is going away as the regulars' described it as one of the places in the city with a dance floor where you can actually dance to the live jazz/swing music. If you are in the area before they close and want to spend some time away from the busy city definitely stop by here!

Air conditioning was cranked-up high. I was freezing. And music was a bit loud. But we were there for the food. And here's what we thought: ** El Cubano is a pressed Cuban sandwich. I chose it because it came with a salad, what they call 'tropical chips' and a cup of black bean soup. The soup was flavorless, the chips -- are they strips of fried plantain?! -- delicious, and the salad, fine. The sandwich is okay, my husband favoring his more than I did mine. (Good thing cause he's getting the half I didn't eat, for lunch today.) ** The winning dish may be Levanta Muerto Seafood soup with mussels, crabmeat, shrimp, and scallops in a rich broth. ** Sangria is disappointing with barely present, minced fruit. Tasted like cheap and weak red wine. A half pitcher fills about four glasses. When seated, you're presented with a basket of toasted bread and a ramekin of infused butter. It looked like turmeric, but surprised! It was sweet, likely cinnamon-sugar. A nice touch. We arrived literally eight minutes after happy hour, so we missed their discounted drinks. As the server said, we would have had to sit at the bar, which I would have done but my friends likely wouldn't. Oh well. Anyway, service was fine, prices a bit high, food was okay -- doesn't compare to Norcross! -- and reservations strongly suggested.

There are big manual fans at the top which were pretty cool to see. The place also has a decent happy hour menu but only available at the bar. The table got bread and mango butter. I really liked how crispy the bread was. It had been pressed down very thin. I got the empanadas which were really good. The main dish (pinchos de camarones), had way too much salt on it. It was nice they had shrimp that also incorporated a kimchi salad. For dessert, the tres leches cake was a delight. I liked how spongy the texture is.
