I am a 66 yo male that has lived with an eyebrow scar since being elbowed at an intramural basketball game in college. The scar was an absence of hair running horizontally through the middle of my right eyebrow. It was visible to those with a discerning eye, but always a source of annoyance to me. I contacted Her Velvet Hand and arranged a consultation to see if anything could be done to hide the scar. Courtney, the owner of the business, was monitoring emails and took an interest in my case. She suggested a Nano Powder Brow treatment for both eyebrows to make things uniform. I had my initial treatment in August 2024 followed by an October touch up appointment. What an amazing outcome! Though I benefit from having deteriorating eye sight, the scar is no longer visible at typical viewing distances. The apparent shape of the eyebrows was improved and areas that were thin of hair now look fuller and similar to adjacent areas. Courtney is simply the best. She listens to your concerns and works hard to develop a plan of action to address your needs. Bri did my brows and I couldn't be happier. Not only did I have the remnants of a years-old microblading application but my face was left asymmetrical from a dental procedure gone wrong. I was nervous about my brows bringing more attention to the imbalance. Bri did her thing. I LOVE how they came out. She's talented, kind and did I say talented!?!?! The procedure was painless. I volunteered to model for Kim as she builds her portfolio and experience in paramedical tattooing and treating scars/stretch marks. I love that she treated me like she would if I were a paying client. She took the time to explain the procedure and ask about my skin history. She also made some assessments and treatment decisions in real time, based on what she learned and based on what would be the best course of action for my skin and the treatment of the starch marks on my abdomen from pregnancy. I appreciate that she explained along the way and she also asked how I was doing during the procedure. It was a very positive experience and it was made so much better knowing that she was helping me to make the best decisions for my skin. Shout out to Erica at Her Velvet Hand!! Located on the Katy Freeway, just outside the beltway, I had seen this place a bunch of times and assumed it must be a massage place. About 4 months ago I finally looked it up online and discovered they are all things brows and lashes (no massage at all)!! It was perfect timing because I had sworn off plucking my (very over plucked) brows in Jan 2020 and it was definitely time to clean them up. I saw Erica and she worked magic! I was super nervous, but found I was in expert hands. She spent the first 15 minutes creating lines using chalked thread before she ever started removing hair. Erica was able to show me her plan before she removed a single hair. The first time a saw her I also had an eyelash lift done, if you'd like more curl, but don't want eyelash extensions, this is a wonderful option. It's basically a perm for you eyelashes. If you're needing you brows done, go see Erica or one of the other 3 professionals working there. The salon is clean and comfortable with really nice tables to lie on while they work their magic. read more
