I still love Herb & Fire. It's a go-to spot for me when I want something tasty and delicious. Their chopped Caesar salad is my favorite - it has artichokes and roasted tomatoes, which gives it a unique twist. The portion is large enough to split between two people with a pizza. Nate and I tried a different pizza on our last visit - the vestito di bianco. It has white sauce, mozzarella, bacon, garlic wilted spinach, grilled zucchini, roasted tomatoes, and romano cheese. They still do a build your own option for pizzas and salads, but it's no longer unlimited toppings (which makes sense to me, I still can't believe that was ever an option). You can get up to 6 toppings included, and anything beyond that is extra. That's still a great deal as the create your own pizzas start at $10.95 with the 6 toppings. The pizza was done quickly and I love that they're wood-fired as they have a great flavor. The white sauce was savory and delicious and not overpowering. I really liked the toppings on the vestito di bianco. I wish the zucchini was sliced larger (it was a small dice) but everything worked well together and the flavors were fresh. The salad was super fresh too and delicious as always. The employees working were very polite and kind and I got a $5 reward for signing up on their app. They do a lot of takeout but they have a nice outdoor patio and plenty of space to dine in. They don't have beer on tap anymore but they do sell canned alcoholic beverages. Don't sleep on Herb & Fire if you're looking for a tasty meal that's quick, fresh, and pretty affordable. read more

We went for dinner with our granddaughters (10 &7). Most of the tables were dirty so I washed the one where we sat. Our granddaughters had the kids pizza which were ok but the apples that they served with the kids meals were pathetic. Our pizza was a build your own but it only allows 6 toppings. We had to pay for "extra"items. We will go back to Blaze where the food is better, less expensive and the place is usually clean. The staff was nice. Other patrons came in after us that also cleaned tables. I told one of the staff that the tables needed cleaning and shortly after another staff came and cleaned the rest of the tables. Too little, too late. Asleep at the wheel. BTW, they were not busy when we arrived so they had plenty of time to clean up the lunch mess. read more

I love that they offer vegan and gluten free options. This is a go-to place for our family. My teenager loves the cheesy breadsticks and cheese pizza. My fave is the GR CBG. I am not sure which fig crust I like better. Tonight was cauliflower and it was a twitch overcooked. I'll try the regular GF next time. I discovered this place during Covid when restaurants' online ordering systems weren't as user-friendly as they are today. With that being said, Herb & Fire's system is simple to use and the food is always ready on time. Although they focus on pizza, I thoroughly enjoy their salads. A lot of pizza places put their salads on the back burner (which is understandable because...pizza) but Herb & Fire's are fresh and easily customizable. read more

I recently visited Herb and Fire after some time away. I had the absolute worst experience. I tried calling at 4:40 p.m. and someone put me on hold. After 7 minutes of sitting on hold I decided to just go there, assuming they were busy. There were three workers and three people in the restaurant. After waiting in line for 10 minutes I placed my order with a very unfriendly employee. My order was fairly simply 2 cheese pizzas, a kids meal, and a pizza with two toppings. I waited and waited and waited. More employees came on shift so I expected it to go faster. Nope. I watched people come in after me and get their pizza before me. I watched an off-duty employee come in her street clothes, go behind the counter, and make her own pizza, which was done before mine. I listened to them make fun of another coworker and I read the sign on their computer (because the off duty employee spun it around to face the dining room) that said UPSELL BREADSTICKS AND SIDES. If you want good pizza, a good atmosphere, and good service...go elsewhere read more

This location has usually provided decent service and good food. Was recently stopping by near the end of their business day. There were no other customers in the restaurant, and the "Open" sign was lit. After giving my order, a second employee came up to the one I'd been speaking to, and informed me (and the other employee, surprisingly) that a new policy had been implemented within the past two months: They would no longer serve any customers arriving after 15 minutes before closing time, and refused to serve me. I left their business at 14:30 before closing time. I contacted another similar establishment nearby and purchased similar items. That business told me they welcomed orders up to closing time, and still had guests inside 5 minutes after that time when my food was ready. I wouldn't think Uccello's would build much loyalty by treating paying customers in this way, but their Herb & Fire subsidiary appears to be all right with doing just that. Again, I arrived 15 minutes before closing time to an empty restaurant with an Open sign on. I guess some may think this is a fine idea, but I'm not one of those people. My husband and I stumbled upon Herb and Fire Pizzeria after a movie. This is a order at the counter pizza made fast within 15 minutes of ordering and let me tell you... it was delicious!! Everyone was super friendly and seemed to have a good system going to get the pizzas out fast! We loved it so much we went back a week later to get the same pizza! My husband is a meat lover, so we got the Uccello signature pizza and of course I added cheesy breadsticks to pair with it! This wood fire pizza had 5 different meats and was the perfect size for both of us... all for a great price! A great spot to stop right before or after a movie on a date night! Good pizza at a reasonable price. Went Herr for lunch on a Friday. Ordered the #8 Uccello pizza along with some Nutella bites. Service was very fast and the order was made, cooked fresh, and ready within 10-15 minutes. The Nutella bites were delicious. Didn't even make it back to work with them to take a picture as I ate them all within the car ride. The ratio of bread to Nutella was perfect and the actual pastry itself was flaky. Highly recommend. The pizza is made at the counter in front of you while ordering. This tasted as expected, ingredients tasted fresh and not too oily. We ordered from Doordash. Initially the order said 25 minutes, but it took 45 due to the driver dropping off another oder prior to mine. I really wish we could tip after instead of before because it said 12 minutes for almost 20 minutes and the business is 3 miles from our home. Everything arrived lukewarm and needed to be reheated. This is my go-to take out pizza place. I usually get the Ucello pizza, and add jalapenos. So great! I love the thin crust, as I can eat the whole thing if I want and not feel miserable. Let me tell you about our first ... and LAST time at Herb and Fire. We decided to try Herb & Fire after seeing a movie next door. We ordered and paid for our food and went to sit down. When we sat down, we were told that we could not eat inside because they were closing. At the time, it was freezing cold and snowing. We are 45 min from home, so it was shocking to find out that we would need to stand outside to eat our pizzas. We had already paid and they were making our pizzas, so there was no turning back. At the same time, there is a mouthy red head standing by the pop machine yelling at us that we needed to GET OUT and that we should have known that they were closing. To our knowledge, this red head is neither a customer nor an employee; she is just loitering by the pop dispenser creating a scene. We had no choice but to wait for our pizzas to cook. Here is another strange thing. When they finished cooking our pizzas, they didn't let us know. Instead, they put the pizzas on a shelf by the foul-mouthed redhead. It wasn't until I asked that I was told where to find the pizzas. You would think that if they wanted customers to go outside, they would tell them about their pizzas not just hide them away on a random shelf. Retrieving the pizzas meant going next to the foul-mouthed redhead. I have no idea why she was loitering there mouthing off to customers. Of note: the young man who took our order did NOT say, "We can make your pizzas but we are closing now, so dine-in is not available". That would have been the way to treat customers. Sending customers to eat pizza outside in freezing temps is no way to treat them and no way to get return customers. Also - having the foul-mouthed redhead yelling at us is also a reason not to go back. After all that....how was the pizza? TERRIBLE. Rate: 0/10 read more

We especially like that there are so many pizza toppings to choose from & can have as many as you want without being charged for each one. Also the service is "spot on"! The employees always greet you coming in & have patience when fixing your pizza. I can't go without making a special acknowledgment for the manager, James at the Grand Rapids location. We ( a group of 15 ) showed up unexpectedly for lunch after a burial of my cousin. James was very welcoming and present when we arrived. He was extremely helpful with setting up seating for our group. The employees behind the counter gave extremely great service & quick on our orders with great attitudes along with it.
