My hubby hobbled me together in order for me to barely bike downhill into this excellent shop. They not only had the derailer, hanger, chain, cassette all in stock that I needed but helped me get back to ride for reasonable fair price. We Really appreciated the mechanic shop and nice staff. Also, there's more, if you are in the market for a bike, they also have a well stocked bicycle shop for new acoustic, or e-bikes. This is a new feeling nice, air conditioned store and also had nice cycling apparel. Extra bonus was it was next-door to Duncan market pastry and coffee shop, which was also amazing. So we searched for a bike shop and found one .6 miles from our airbnb--the website showed both e bikes and analog options. To make a reservation the site directed us to call... John answered and was very friendly, he agreed that he had some e bikes for us for a 1pm reservation and confirmed that they take visa. We showed up as agreed and they got us set up and squared away quickly. The bikes were electric assist, so you still have to pedal them, but you get a lot more push for your pedal because the motor kicks in. We didn't know where we were going but had a vague notion that we wanted to go north along the bay. Since we hadn't checked a map out or anything, we were a little bit surprised that the road forked off away from the water, but we soldiered on. The road got to be a little bit narrow, but all the drivers seemed conscientious and courteous as they went around us. We went on to bike all the way up to Semiahmoo County Park where we broke out the picnic blankets and picnic backpack--a really good time. John was still there when we returned the bikes and I would definitely recommend. It seemed like he does bike tuning and repairs for locals as well.

I'm looking to purchase a new bike and BBBS happens to be a dealer for one of the brands on my short list. I was disappointed to find the shop owner to be brusque, unhelpful, and dismissive. Didn't bother to ask me a single question about what or why I was looking for. I can only speculate as to what the sales/service model is here. Clearly I'm not fitting into it. I ended up purchasing my bike directly from the manufacturer. I don't think I'd even come back here for service.

I took my boyfriend out to Sooke to rent Hobie kayaks and we had a blast!…read more Allen gave us great suggestions about where we should pedal around and thoroughly explained how to use the kayaks. He outfitted us with everything we would need including a banana to snack on! I felt completely safe the entire time even though I'd been nervous going into it and my boyfriend still felt like he'd had an adventure. We're both from the prairies so seeing sea stars, seals, crab, eagles, and even boats was pretty exciting for us. Excellent fun and we plan to do it again!

It was a wonderful experience!…read moreAllen was informative about the area and shared many stories with us as we peddled around Sooke. The kayaks were comfortable and easy to use. My mom and I were not great at using the oars but Allen was patient and gave us tips to help us! He was entertaining and taught us how to use kelp as a horn! We saw lots of wildlife including some cute seals that we got really close to! We highly recommend this incredible experience to all adventurers and recommend that you go with a guided tour as you will learn much more and get to see more! Thanks for an awesome time, Allen!
