This was a wonderful experience renting from Cycle San Juan. Thomas, the owner is experienced, kind, accommodating and has some great equipment for rent. He's knowledgeable about his bikes, area and terrain. Thomas helped us (4 people) out in planning our rides and gave us some tips on the easiest way around the islands. The bikes were well fitted to us for all sizes and shapes. He delivered our eBikes (Specialized Vado) and ran through a briefing on their operation charging, etc. Then gave us some tips on places to go, thing to see and ferry schedules. We rode on San Juan Island, Lopez and Orcas island. Note that the ferry is free to walk-ons inter island. These bikes made some of the steepest hills a dream. You can ride all day on full power and still have 30% remaining. We clocked about 73 miles in total for the 3 days of rental. At the end of our rental period, Thomas came and picked up the bikes and we were all done. In this time of COVID-19. smoke from fires and the like, he made our experience very easy and is very responsive. Thomas (an experience guide and scientist) was a godsend for me and my friends and our last minute trip to the "islands." No not the Hawaiian islands, but the gem of the Pacific Northwest, aka the San Juan Islands. Granted we were staying in the off-season, first week of October, but like the lighthouse at Kiln Point, Thomas was a beacon of light shining bright over all others in the area. His service was top notch and professional, Covid safe to boot. He was very accommodating and his hours of operation were much welcomed given the unreliability of the WA ferries, throw your hands up if you know what I'm talking about, if you don't just know that if you plan on island hopping, which we did for the 5 days we spent on San Juan Island, the ferry WBL "will be late!" In our case Thomas is located on San Juan Island, we decided to bike ride on Lopez Island, and upon calling Thomas, he had our bikes ready within the hour, waiting for us after our short 3 minute drive from our hotel in Friday Harbor. We parked our car at his property for the entire day, but you can also walk from Friday harbor in 10 minutes, and there is an option for bike to be dropped off in town if needed. He was open from 8am-8pm, we all had awesome ebikes with gear, helmets, maps, points of interest, locks, xtra tubes and tires, pumps, insulated packs and much more (see photo). Quick credit card payment and brief orientation and then we were off for the entire day riding a quick 5 minutes into town and onto the ferry for Lopez Island! The bikes were top notch and easy to use and zipped us all around safely and efficiently. We all had at least 30% charge left on our ebikes after the entire day use which started at 10:30am and did not end until return at 8:45pm. (See late ferry above, which Thomas was extremely flexible with as we stayed in touch via text.) I would highly recommend Thomas and the bikes he provides. He has it all. Thomas is a highly interesting, extremely accomplished guy who happens to know a ton about plants, trees, and the San Juan Islands. He introduced me to e-bikes and we had a terrific time navigating 27 miles of the SJI. He brings you lunch, a bountiful one at that, and comes to your inn to pick you up. He explains the e-bike well, looks out for you on intersections, and is friendly and an extraordinary companion with his deep domain knowledge of SJI, its indigenous plants and trees, its whales and other sea life. Equal is his familiarity with Orcas Island. Thomas does multi-island tours. If you're going to consider a bike tour, definitely speak to Thomas. You'll be glad you did. read more

Don't go anywhere else! Thomas was so helpful and accommodating. 1st I liked that he is a bit off the main drag so you can avoid the traffic & hoards of people while test riding your bike around the area to get a feel for it before venturing into the melee (there's ample parking near his place too). He hooked me up with a trailer so I could haul my dog around, a seat pad to make things more comfortable and took his time highlighting a great route and explaining good spots to bike to. 10/10 will visit him again b/c he made the experience that much more fun and has great rates too! read more

First time visiting San Juan Island for a day trip on 4th of July. Rented Bike with Thomas. Bikes were new, in good condition. We got bags to carry our bag & helmet. We didn't feel rushed, Thomas gave us recommendation on what route to take based on what we want our experience to be which we took and had a great time. Shop was ~15 mins walk from the ferry terminal (but weather was great so we didnt mind) although Thomas told us when we met that he could have come to drop the bike for us at Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal. Thomas met us at the Ferry, took us to the shop and made sure we were outfitted. He was consistently responsive and flexible, and a great communicator. Thomas is just awesome!! Picked me up from the airport and brought me to my hotel with bike options and made sure I was comfortable with my rental. Gave me a map with lots of biking trail options. Included was a spare tube and a bike pump and he also is available (for a fee, I think) if you get in a jam and need assistance. Couldn't ask for more convenient and personable service! I planned to visit the San Juan Islands after my friends in Seattle recommended it to me last year. Once I started looking into some of the things you could do in the islands, it seemed like it would be fun to try to bike San Juan Island. Thomas at Pedal Anywhere made that really easy to do.
