Major renovations and upgrades are completed and many more to come. 9 holes completed their upgrade. The greens are great and the bunkers have fluffy white sand, the fairways and bunkers are draining great. The second 9 is work in progress. Once that is done, all 18 holes will be awesome. One of the worst first experiences I've ever had at a course. I will start off by saying everyone at the club house was terrific, but the starter could not have been more ornery and just flat out rude. The tee times were at least 20-30 minutes behind and we watched him basically berate multiple groups for simply driving up to the starter area when it was their tee time as if it was their fault they were behind. No bar cart out on the course, don't know if that's normal, but for an 18 hole course I thought it was odd. Then at the turn there's a conveniently placed stand where you can grab food and drinks. No idea what the situation was but it was closed as we made the turn. 18 holes took 6.5 hours. Willing to give it another shot because despite the muddy conditions, I can tell the course itself was quite nice, but I'd be remiss not to mention that it was some of the worst course vibes I've ever had a from a round at a public course. read more

This used to be a course that was in great condition that was for a decent price ($50-60). I have no problem paying $100 for a course that is in pristine conditions, but to pay $100 for a course that has 1. Course renovations currently happening on all 3 9 hole courses, 2. Greens that are burnt out in areas with sand patches in other areas (heritage and tradition courses) and worst of all 3. A temporary green on #8 of the heritage course completely blows me away. I even asked about the orange fencing and was told it was only on the legacy course which was closed for renovations. I fully respect that the surrounding areas around the golf course have came a long way which can affect prices and I also understand that course renovations are not cheap, but to be charged $100 for the current conditions on 10/26/2024 is crazy and not appreciated!!! When I asked the assistant club pro about the price versus the conditions, he just looked at me with a blank stare and said the price is the price. As a member of the Tucker community for the last 7 years (Summer Oak community), that made me feel unappreciated because all other businesses in Tucker (especially on the square) have and show concern for the experience of their customers. Our first impression was actually pretty good as the cart guy at the bag drop off was really nice and inviting. We get to the starter, clearly an old retired guy which is usually a good sign, to our own demise we were about 5 mins late so he made us wait until 3 other groups teed off to put us last. We completely understood it was our fault no big deal. We were late though because the signage was terrible and you had to drive to the back nine to start which we were not aware of and told the starter but he said it wasn't his fault and what can he do about it, okay... We get going and most of the course was decent but the greens were in terrible shape and you couldn't take the round serious after about 3-4 holes because the greens were that bad so we decided to just have a fun day with the guys. We get to the 5 hole and the same starter is apparently the Marshal as well and comes riding back to us and starts almost yelling at us to hurry up that the group in front was 2 holes ahead of us. It was a very unnecessary attitude when we were the last off and no one behind us. We weren't playing 2 balls each but we weren't rushing either because we were not log jamming anyone! Not to mention one of our group has a prosthetic leg so it's not like we can run through the dang course. It took all we could to respect our elders because we wanted to match energy but it really seemed like early onset dementia the way he was flipping. There was a "cart girl" but they didn't have her driving around as usual but just sitting under a tent at what would be the turn. That was refreshing and she was very nice. So we make the turn and the is a single player in front of us. We proceed to play the 9 over again and our group, previously rushed, was keeping up with this single player. We had to assume the marshal was gone at this point because this guy was not pushed in any way. We finish the round and we proceed to the clubhouse to have the conversation with the management about this starter guy. We tell the guy our concerns and he says that we were not the only ones to complain. For a manager this guy seemed unbothered and very dismissive about the incident. This place is in shambles and should be holding on to any people on the course!!! They should be trying to give chik fil a service but that's not the case. One guy in our group goes there sometimes and he will have an additional conversation but we don't plan to go back. Maybe they can get their kit together and get business back but they will need some employee changes! Heed the warning or good luck! read more

I don't understand how this has 2.5 stars, we played in January which might of changed the price but it was 37$ per person which is a really good price with the golf cart included. The green were kept in really good condition as well as the fair ways and rough even though it was winter. Only two things is the one or two holes have some construction going on which doesn't affect you. Another is most likely because it was winter, but the lake was semi dried up. I struggled with whether to give Heritage Golf Links 3 or 4 stars. In the end, I decided to give the club 4 stars because the course layout is scenic and fun and the course was in good condition when we played. It was a great value and we enjoyed our round, but it was not without its fair share of problems. Heritage has three nines: Heritage, Legacy, and Tradition. Tradition is the club's newest nine. When we played, Tradition's greens had recently been aerated so we played Legacy followed by Heritage. From the tips, Legacy-Heritage measures 6,875 yards with a rating/slope of 70.6/138. The scorecard is confusing because it shows all three nines, but only totals for Legacy-Heritage. Also, the individual hole handicaps on the scorecard don't make sense. I don't know what's the easiest way to explain it other than to say if you play Heritage-Tradition or Tradition-Legacy, you'll be scratching your head wondering while multiple holes have the same handicap. For example, Heritage No. 2 is the No. 2 handicap hole, but so is Tradition No. 1. Huh? One thing I like about Heritage is it's not located too far from the city and it sure beats most, if not all, of the public courses inside the perimeter. However, Heritage is also a victim of its own success. This place is popular. It's the most crowded golf course I've ever played on, not just in metro Atlanta, but anywhere. I heard from a member that they schedule tee times 8 minutes apart here. That's fine, but for a public course that sees a lot of beginner and recreational golfers, that might be a bit too ambitious. I don't work in the golf industry, so what do I know? I was told to prepare for a 6-hour round and reviews on Yelp only confirmed the slow play. Our foursome was able to finish in about 5 hours, which I was fine with. From the 1st tee through the 18th green, there was always a group directly ahead and directly behind us. The course was very busy and they packed the rounds in good. Fortunately, we never had any major holdups and the foursome ahead of us kept pace pretty well. Our foursome paid $45.99 per golfer for a Saturday morning tee time through TeeOff.com. This was a good deal considering we would've paid $69 each if we booked directly through the pro shop. Heritage has a nice driving range with a couple different tiers. You hit off of grass as opposed to mats. Tickets for range balls can be purchased inside the pro shop. They have one of those machines where you punch a code into the ball dispenser to get balls. The practice putting green is also nice as is the short game area. Like the course, the range, practice putting green, and short game area were quite crowded during our visit. It was so crowded that we had problems getting a golf cart for our 10:40 AM tee time. All the carts had been taken. The fellow handing the bag drop had to grab a partially charged cart from the garage. It was missing a windshield, scorecard, and pin sheet. When we pulled up to the starter, he gave us the pin position for the day, but it did us no good because neither of our foursome's carts had a pin sheet. The starter said he'd get us a pin sheet, but we never got one. The course is very hilly with all sorts of undulations on both the fairways and greens. The greens were in terrific shape, comparable to a lot of private clubs' greens. The tee boxes were different. Some of them were pretty beat up. The fairways and rough were in alright condition. For the price we paid on a public course, I wasn't complaining. The course also has a lot of bunkers. Several of the bunkers had pipes sticking out of them, which isn't aesthetically pleasing, but at least they drain (unlike some other courses I've played on). Overall, I'd say the layout is challenging, but scorable for most skill levels. I'm not sure I'd recommend this course for a beginner or even too many recreational golfers due to several narrow fairways and hazards. The Legacy and Heritage nines surround a large pond. Those holes where water is in play (I think there's 6 of them) are especially beautiful. The clubhouse also has a scenic view of the water. The clubhouse has a bar/grill and a small pro shop. It's classed up, but still fairly basic. The employees I've encountered have been polite, friendly, and helpful. During our round, I think we saw a marshal once, maybe twice. There was no food and beverage cart service. In the end, I do recommend Heritage Golf Links. Just be cognizant of the crowds on the weekends. Other facts: Dr. J (Julius Erving) purchased this club in 2006 and renamed it Celebrity Golf Club. It foreclosed in 2010. In April that year, Affiniti Golf (now Mosaic Clubs & Resorts) took over and made changes, one of which was naming the club Heritage Golf Links. Yet another ownership group, Triumph Golf, took over in June 2015. I'm not sure if there were other ownership changes between Affiniti and Triumph, but regardless, there seems to have been a lot of turnover here over the years. read more

Heritage is a great place to go for all levels of golfers. There are a lot of tight fairways and a decent amount of hazards so if you're a beginner bring many balls. Minus having a dead cart here and there, I have a good experience. They have three sets of 9. Heritage, legacy, and tradition. I personally think Legacy is the most challenging of the three when playing from the tips. But tradition is my favorite. For the amount of golfers they have they take pretty good care of the course. Some bunkers and greens could use some love but for what you pay the course it worth it. Another plus is The employees at Heritage are always friendly. If you haven't played there I would definitely recommend to go soon. It a great find hidden in Tucker. And if you're looking for some practice, Heritage also has a very large driving range with multiple chipping and putting areas. read more

I found this course on one of the golf apps. I must say it was worth the price. I paid less than $50 with cart and was paired up with some locals. The course was in great shape and most of the greens were as well. The course provides a nice challenge and will require to use several different clubs. The key is not distance it is ball placement. I did play from the tips and it was no long. Afterwards I had an all you can eat pasta buffet and it was prepared in front of me. The food was excellent. I do recommend this course and will play it again the next time I'm in ATL. read more

As a moderate golfer (I go about once a month, and hit under 100 on a good day), I HIGHLY recommend this course. I'm more of a 'discount golfer,' so I can't compare this course to the best of the best. But if you're looking for a cheap round on a great course in Atlanta, this is the course. I had been settling for Fox Creek and Legacy courses for a while because they were the next cheapest, but after finding this course, I won't be going back. This course has changed owners a few times within the past 15 years. It was once owned by Dr. J. But it wasn't doing so well.... I think they were trying to charge $100 to play the course. Now, the course is back looking and playing great. I've played here a few times in the past couple years in a few tournaments. The folks here seem nice, the course is fun to play and pretty challenging with a ton of hills. It costs $45 for weekday now. They also have a great lighted range on grass. read more

I have to say that the course, itself, is in good shape and the pro shop does a good job of customer service and moving things along. However, there are other administration issues that seriously need to be addressed. For starters, they try to pack in as many people as possible during the day by having only a 9 minute window between tee times. This causes a huge bottleneck, especially at the turn. If they would spread out the tee times to more like a 12 minute window, it would certainly help. I have actually had other golfers aggressively approach me and start yelling because they didn't understand that I was starting the back nine when they were starting their front nine and thought I was trying to break into line. Secondly, I go there probably once a week and will tell you to completely avoid the grill/restaurant at all costs. Usually, especially at peak times, there are like 10 people waiting in line at the bar to pay for a bottle of water, a drink, food, etc. with only one person working the bar to ring them up. This is another situation where you are waiting for at least 10 to 15 minutes to get what you need before moving on to the back nine. This wouldn't be a big deal if they actually had a beverage cart person driving around on a regular basis to make sure we're all hydrated from the summer heat. I would think this is a bit of a liability issue that they need to seriously look at. Also, if you're a member and have a lunch ticket, you can forget consistency on what that ticket allows, because each week some person at the bar says something contradictory to what the person said last week about what you can and can't get with it. Then, they say they have "impossible burgers", but you find that they're really still angus beef and not sure why they called them that?? I would suggest they focus on running a beverage cart, constantly, especially during the summer. This will help with the long wait at the grill and will certainly reduce potential heat exhaustion/stroke issues. Just my two cents. read more

I would say if you've never played the course then give it a whirl. It's a fun course but be on your game. The course needed green work. All greens were rough, with too many divots. We were the first to play today and either the clientele using the course doesn't tend to a divot or they just don't tend to it. Either way I feel for a course to charge $75 for a weekend round should have great greens and that should be tended to every morning by staff. The course is tight, I lost a few balls today but had a great time. Be sure to follow cart path rules where stated as we got yelled at for going 10' off path to look for a ball before walking across fairway. No matter where you play in Atlanta it's busy on a weekend, play early and be done early. When we made the turn the driving range was packed. I could easily see this being a 5 hour round of golf. If you plan to play here often sign up for the $45 a month deal, would be a great buy if you know you'll play monthly. read more

This place has really declined over the last year. They've raised the monthly membership dues while dropping the quality of just about everything else. The tee boxes are beat up and the greens aren't much better. No longer do members get a grilled burger or hotdog hot off the grill. Instead you get a room temperature ham and cheese sandwich served on a hamburger bun. No more 2 free beers either. Now just one. Wanna book a tee time? They'll want your credit card info to charge you if you can't make it or are late to your tee time. The location is convenient but sometimes "under new management" isn't an improvement. read more

Great venue to host a special event. It's easy to get to and they have ample parking. They have a wonderful staff who took great care of us. For the past 3 years, I've managed a large charity golf tournament at Heritage Golf Links. Pros: This location has a great venue, professional course, tons of carts, 27 holes and can accommodate a ton of golfers for a tournament. Their pricing is reasonable and they host a number of tournaments each year, which makes planning a breeze. Catering options include boxed lunches, buffet, snack/beverage cart. Cons: management turns over frequently (although this seems somewhat standard in the golfing industry), so you need to be on top of all your details. read more

But, I have had the opportunity to play a few different courses around Atlanta and found this one to be rather nice. The best part, it's rather affordable, too. Played here twice in the past week. Course is in good shape. Hard fairways so don't be surprised if you drive it farther than usual because that ball keeps rolling. Pretty course. Never again. We were pumped to get out and try a new course after work. Picked this one as it isn't far from the house and wanted to get a twilight hours round in before too dark. Will say, we were shocked at just how horrendous this course was. The hills were a bit absurd and the fairways were decently tight. But the greens were the biggest pieces of sh!t I've ever seen. I'm serious, they were atrocious. This course charges almost $30 pp for twilight midweek round and it was horrendous. Dead, thick, full of unfixed divets, dead spots, bare spots, the ball would roll all over the place rather than straight. Not to mention the cliffs on almost every green. How this course charges $50-70 a round is beyond me! Also, the Tradition course was just silly, we played almost the entire front 9 by only playing a driver and wedge on every hole. We'll stick with other courses. Y'all can keep that mess! read more

Used to be one of the main courses in my rotation. Since the change in price and their membership I decided to try other courses, but played here over the weekend. Course conditions haven't changed much. I was expecting some improvements since they upped the price. Tee box on #2 is pretty much all sand. Pace of play is still a huge problem here. Took 3 hours just to play the front 9. I find it hard to justify paying to play here with the slow pace of play when there are other cheaper and better options. read more

Heritage is a great place to join if you want an affordable membership at a course near the city. The membership is $90 a month and you get 2 rounds and unlimited range balls a month. It is a month to month membership and each round comes with a free beer and burger or hot dog. The course is usually in good shape but could use some help on the greens. They roll great but people do not repair their ball marks like they should. I played with two people the other day and had to say something to them about not repairing their marks. The course tends to get s little backed up around 3:30-5. I try to get out no later than 3 and can usually finish in 4 hours. The course can be a bit much when played from the tips so if you're not a single digit handicap I suggest playing the blues. Several challenging tee shots and two par 3's over 200 yards. There is a third 9 hole course across the bridge that I go play when the other two 9's get backed up. Their is also a Golf school on the property with several great instructors with affordable lesson packages. read more

I've had one experience here, and let me preface by saying that I really like this course. It was in great shape, the greens are extremely challenging, and the terrain lends to some picturesque views. I really hope to get back and play it again because it's beautiful, it's reasonably priced, and they have what appears to be a really solid membership deal (which I will likely take advantage of if I move here full time next year). However, we knew we were in for a long day when, on Father's Day, as a twosome, we approached the first tee behind another twosome, and the starter did not even mention pairing us up with the group in front of us (or the twosome behind us). That sort of hands-off approach would define our experience. The twosome in front of us played extremely slowly, but somehow still found an opportunity to play through the foursome in front of them. We spent the rest of the day hoping for an opportunity to play through, but never found one. The foursome in front of us was so painfully slow it took all my self-restraint to keep from yelling at them to hurry up. At one point it appeared swing lessons were taking place in the fairway as we stood waiting, with another group waiting on the tee behind us. I realize everyone is entitled to a fun learning experience and I love places that facilitate new golfers getting excited about learning the game - just be mindful of the other golfers on the course, especially on such an obviously busy day. Somehow, shockingly, we still ended up logjammed after the turn as the rest of the round was stop-and-go with no opportunity to play through due to several groups backed up in front of us. I hope to get another chance to play this course - I think if the starter were to take care to use any sort of organized method to move things along, and if the rangers would pay attention to the pace, this course would be an awesome place to play. As it were, though, we played a 5.5 hour round and skipped the 18th hole because we were so frustrated. read more

Would you like someone to steal your hard earned cash? Well folks this is the place to go. Lessons were purchased for me and valid for a year. This was paid to Heritage. After one of the instructors left to move to California I was told that Heritage would not honor the rest of my lessons because they had already paid the instructor. The instructor was a Heritage employee! After the manager (Adam) ignored my calls and messages 4 times I finally got in touch with him only to tell me that he would not honor the remaining lessons. Talk about scum bags... There are plenty of other public courses that take care of their customers. I'd recommend choosing another course to play. read more

Showed up for 10:00 tee time at 9:30. There were no golf carts when we showed up and none at 10:00. Pro in golf shop didn't seem to care and basically told us to deal with it. Teed off at 10:35. Most of the par 3s were backed up with 3 to 4 groups. Marshal told us to skip a hole rather than get the slow groups to play at pace. 5 hour round in 95 degree weather. read more
