We use Heritage Pet's mobile grooming services. Katie is our groomer, and we couldn't be happier. Our dog is a Pomeranian who is a puppy mill rescue. She has many fears including strangers and loud or sudden noises. Katie takes all of this into consideration when grooming our sweet girl. Not only does she come out of the van looking beautiful, she comes out happy. She is not afraid when we hand her over to Katie, and she is not trembling when Katie brings her back to us. Very disappointed with my last visit to Heritage. We started going to Heritage in 2003 with our Newfoundland. They did a great job and we loved them. We now have a new puppy and the grooming experience was very disappointing. Front staff was somewhat friendly but the groomer was nasty. Condescending and irritated. My dog was dropped off at 9 and we picked him up at 4:30!! Horrible way to treat an animal. And he was completely shaved down (which was NOT what I asked for). I'm not sure it takes 7 1/2 hours to shave down a dog?? We already found a new groomer. Will not go back read more

I went here twice recently for boarding. The first time they gave me a free day because our dog stayed over three days and the sign in process was a little cumbersome and was kind of a cluster with no one seeming to know what to do with my dog or I. When we picked him up he had gained a visible amount of weight. Our feeding directions were in cups and it was a 2 cup measuring scoop. We think that they were reading it as scoops not cups and doubling the food. That is just the only way we could explain the weight gain and significant amount of food being gone. For our dog this isn't the biggest deal and he has lost the weight already but I can see this being bad for others. The second stay I called to see if they had availability and asked since it was 4 days if I received the day discount again specifying that I had been there before. The girl who answered said I would so I brought our dog back to Heritage. This time check in went a bit easier since I had done the paper work the first stay. Still it seems only one person can bring dogs back to the back and they need to be called even though four people are tripping over each other behind the desk. The main issue on pick up this time was that there was no discount, the desk person wouldn't even consider it, said I had to pay the full amount because she couldn't do the discount (uh just type in less days is what I thought) and said the manager would call me the next day to discuss it. Well the next day has come and gone and I never received a call. This seems to coincide with the other poor reviews that for some reason I ignored. Lesson learned and time to go back to my old place. read more

Staff has always treated me & my pup with love and care. She's gone here for doggie daycare and boarding and grooming since she was 4 mos. She's always happy & excited to go here. Brandy is wonderful for grooming needs. The staff always makes me feel like they care abt my pup and sowhatever I ask. Our pups love Heritage Pet! We have been taking our 2 dogs here for several years and have used all of their services! Every week we drop our dogs off for daycare and every time our dogs are so excited to see the staff and play with other pups. They come home absolutely exhausted! The grooming is great! I am truly disappointed at how greedy, judgmental, and immoral these people are, specifically the red head behind the counter. I have been a loyal customer here for over a year, but what happened today revealed that the people who work here care more about money than the precious life of a dog, and I will never be returning. I had dropped my dog off at 11:30 in the morning for a grooming appointment. When I dropped him off I paid in advance and left a tip for the groomer, as well as told them to make sure to call my number and not the previous owners number, who for some reason was still on file despite me having told them three times already to change it. When it came time to pick him up they called the wrong number first, and I myself didn't receive a call until 5:58pm to come get him. That's 2 minutes before they close. I live in northern aurora so it takes me awhile to get down there, so obviously I got there late and as I pull up the red head employee is walking out with her dog about to leave. When I confronted her she did not want to give me my dog and told me I could pick him up the next day. I begged her to please give me my dog with tears in my eyes and all she did was give me a cynical smile and say "if you weren't so irresponsible and were here on time this wouldn't be a problem, you can pick him up tomorrow thank you", got in her car and left. I NEVER consented to my dog being put into boarding, I NEVER signed anything that said they could, and was NEVER told by anyone that they do that if the dog isn't picked up in time. But seriously how do they expect me to pick him up on time if I didn't get a call until 2 MINUTES before they close, it is ridiculous how long they take to groom a small 10 pound Pomeranian! I came back the next day for my dog in the morning and they wanted to charge me for the overnight stay I DID NOT consent to. I told them I was not paying for that, and they did not want to give me my dog. THEY HELD MY DOG FOR RANSOM! THAT IS ILLEGAL. I had to call the police to come mediate and even they said they cant hold my dog for ransom because ITS A LIVING THING (but heritage pet doesn't see them as living family members, they just see them as objects). The solution heritage pet had was that if I didn't pay THEY WERE GOING TO TAKE MY DOG TO THE POUND and I could then pick him up there! What kind of people who "love dogs" would do something like that? In the end I paid just because I didn't want my dog to go through something like that. These people are unethical and immoral, and that is not how you run a business, it was there fault I was late because they called the wrong person first and didn't call me until 2 min before closing, and then to spite me and "teach me a lesson" they hold my dog hostage and threaten to send him to the pound. I hope everybody who is a loyal customer reads this and knows that despite there loyalty, the people at heritage (obviously not all of them) don't care about your dog all they want is more money. read more

I want to say thank you to the whole gang at Heritage Pets--I use the Aurora store and Anne has groomed my maltese for the last several months. I love to sneak into the lobby and watch her work with my fur baby because she is so gentle, caring and thorough. He is a rescue and easily panicked but she has him quietly standing there while she works and he is calm and happy. She always has his ears and tail trimmed at just the right length and little face clean and freshly clipped. I could not recommend anyone higher--she is terrific! I can't, in good conscience, take my dog back. When I picked her up, i was not told of any issues, but when we got home I found cuts on 2 of her feet. I felt so bad for her. I called and they offered to reimburse me for any vet bill, but they aren't that bad. I appreciate their offer, but I'm still not comfortable taking her back to them. read more

I took my seven month old puppy here after calling to get an estimate. When I picked him up I was given a bill that was $25 more than the quote. I was quite specific when I called, so their claim that they got the breed mixed up was wrong. I stupidly paid the full amount, then two days later had to pay a $76 vet bill because the groomer had been "over-zealous" when she pulled hair out of his ears--a procedure we never requested. Not only was my poor puppy in agony for three days, he is probably psychologically scarred as well. I called Heritage to let them know what had happened. They promised a manager would call. It's now been three weeks and I've not heard a word. If you love your dog, DON'T take them here! read more

Was a big fan of this place until our experience today. Our family was told our rate would be almost doubled. We asked why and felt the managers answer was not clear. When we requested to speak with the owner she stated that "she didn't need to meet us, that is what her manager is for." She then proceed to " show us the door" literally. If she wanted to raise their price there is a much more professional way of handling this. We were consistent customers and will unfortunately now have to find another groomer. I am so very disappointed. I am a long time customer and brought a new puppy in for a grooming. He is loosing puppy coat so I asked that he be hand dried and raked. When I picked him up his fur was not standing off the skin and I raked a whole 1 gallon zip lock out of him myself. I called and asked that he be rebathed and groomed out as I requested. I brought him back in with my own shampoo at 8:00 am the next day. I picked him up at 12:00 pm and he was not rebathed ( I know the smell of my shampoo and what a bathed and blown out coat looks like ) and smelled like cigarettes.( the groomer lied to me and told me he was redone.) I spoke with the manager Blakely and he offered me nothing.. just said we hope you come back. I will never do business here again. I was lied to and cheated.....5 years as a good customer and not even an apology....I am just done!!! read more

I hate that I even have to give this place one star in order to leave a review. I would give zero stars if it was possible. This place used to be our number one choice but we won't be sending our dog there again. Usually our dog sees Miley, who he knows and is comfortable with. When we called to schedule today's appointment we were told that Miley would be the one taking care of our dog, however they decided to have a new groomer deal with him. Our dog has a history of being difficult to groom and needs to be muzzled, however he apparently escaped two of their muzzles, which shouldn't happen. I highly doubt he was muzzled correctly seeing as though he has never had this issue before. We were called and told he couldn't be groomed because he bit the new groomer, but not hard enough to break skin. They told us that Miley has written in our dogs file that he is extremely hard to work with and is nothing but trouble. We were always told that Miley didn't have too much trouble when it came to our dog and that he was just a bit more difficult than average, but that he is very sweet and they like working with him. Apparently this is not the case and we were lied to about our dog's behavior. We were also lied to about who would be taking care of him, which was the whole reason we sent him to Heritage Pet in the first place. They simply do not operate with any common sense when it comes to grooming pets. If you know a dog is a bit more difficult, don't assign him to a new groomer. And make sure he's muzzled correctly. Don't take your pets here. They have no idea what they're doing. read more

Horrible experience at this Parker, Co groomer!! Took our dog there with high hopes. When we brought him home, they had cut him all along his genital area. He was licking and in discomfort. When we contacted the groomer for resolution, we got excuses. They would not refund our money. The owner was out of town. No one was left to make managerial decisions and to offer to send our poor dog to the vet. I spoke with Lou who refused to offer any solutions until her owner arrived back in town. I had a horrible experience earlier this year. As I pulled up 5 minutes prior to my appointment, I receive a call stating that the groomer was sick and they would need to reschedule my appointment. I had just driven 35 minutes to the appointment, so I was obviously a little upset at the late notice and expressed just that. One of the groomers volunteered to work my 2 Old English Sheepdogs in, nonetheless. I was thankful for that and waited while she went over my dogs. I pointed out some areas that would require a little extra attention. I had just been to Heritage 3 weeks prior but since this particular girl was blowing her puppy coat, she was matting quickly. I have some nerve damage/arthritis in my hand and was having issues that week, which is why I asked for help. The groomer said she would call me in a bit and I left. I was no more than 5 miles down the road when the original (sick) groomer called and told me he had looked over the dog and she would need to be shaved. I explained that she is blowing her coat and that the webbing he was seeing at the skin was not tight and would brush out. He insisted that the "only humane thing to do was shave." Since I was planning to show her soon, I turned the car around to go pick her up. I am not entirely upset that the groomer called about matting. I get it. It is a long, thick coat and a lot of work...even without mats. I am a little upset he didn't let the groomer who agreed to groom at least attempt to brush it out. I think they would have found that they were dealing with puppy coat that was changing and it would have brushed out fairly quickly. What I am appalled at is the (sick) groomer then accused me of bringing in a different dog than the one that was there three weeks prior, stating that she would not be in this condition if I brought in the same dog. So, not only do you guilt me about not staying on top of the puppy coat transition, but now you accuse me of lying (for what gain, I am not sure). As soon as I got home, I called a groomer friend who has a mobile service. She was able to wash, dry and brush out my 2 OES girls in less than three hours with no problem. The only good thing they had going for them was Josh and Francisco and they both are gone. We will not be going there again. In addition, they "lost" a brand new expensive lead I brought in at a previous trip and replaced it with a much less expensive lead from their stock. read more

I've only taken my poodle in a couple times so far, however both times the staff was very nice and welcoming. I wasn't really sure what kind of cut I wanted him to have, so the final product I thought was a little silly cause he looked like a Bishon instead of a poodle, but it was still a lot better then Petsmart grooming. The second time my dog already had a mohawk I had given him and the women that helped me asked if I wanted to keep it that way which of course I did. It was so awesome that she paid attention and was able to give him a professional mohawk. I loved it!! I will definitely take him back here all the time and now that I know how I want his hair cut it will be much easier to tell them exactly what I want. I am reviewing the boarding today. I took my took dogs on Saturday for a one night stay. I was to pick up on Sunday before closing at 5:00 . I showed up at 4:14pm for pick and no one was available. I waited till 5:26pm no show of any employee. So the dogs had to stay a second night. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. I did call the security people and nothing, I called towing service ( sign was in their parking lot) nothing. I left voice messages and sent emails nothing. I checked website for and emergency contact nothing. There was no emergency contact number on the door of the business. I just an idea would be to put emergency numbers up they are are needed. Check emails frequently and check voice messages. read more
