I would give 10 stars if i could! I was getting my hair done by Melissa Vereyken when she was in the Bay Area. ( I was living in Auburn and would drive 3 hours to see her ) so I was very happy when she moved to Foresthill! She has given me exactly what I've wanted every time even when I thought it was impossible. I had a moment and boxed dyed my hair quite a few times and came to her for a color correction and she surpassed my expectations. I of course wanted to go back to blonde after going dark and she was very honest during the entire process and was able to give me what I wanted and my hair still feeling nice and shiny. She's very nice and fun to be around and never makes me feel judged even when I have my breakdown and color my hair at home. She's incredibly down to earth and all around an amazing stylist with years of experience. If you're in this area, I HIGHLY recommend you see Melissa. I had my first appointment with Melissa Vereyken recently. If it was possible, I would give her unlimited stars!! I had been driving over an hour to my previous hair stylist who I have been a client of for more than 10 years. I'm very loyal, but the drive started to ware on me. I decided to look local and found Melissa. To say she knows hair is an understatement. She is magic!! She is very knowledgable, personable, sweet and fun! Like I said, she knows her hair also!! I went to Tami's salon in desperate need of a hair miracle. Inspite the sign warning customers she's a hairdresser not a magician, Tami wielded her scissors and coloring skills like a magical wand. She changed my sad, tired, and frumpy hair into a fabulous stylish 'do. She's charming and imaginative and knew just what to do to make me look great. Tami works magic on hair!! I was so nervous to try a pixie-cut for the first time ever, but she was so encouraging & positive, making me trust her immediately! And I couldn't have been more happy with the results! Since I do not live near Tami or the salon, I've since had to get my hair recut & trimmed by other people & every time I am seriously let down! Kat Nelson who is the stylist who does my hair gets 5 stars. From cuts to color she has done the best job ever. I highly recommend Kat and I am an extremely picky woman when it comes to my hair. The owner however I would give a 1 star at best. I arrived for my appointment and laid my Gucci purse on the chair next to Kat's station. When the owner arrived I asked if she wanted me to move my purse, she said no she would do it. It wasn't until Kat was finished with my hair and I went to pay that I noticed that the owner had put my $1,500.00 Gucci purse on the extremely dirty floor of the salon. Mind you, there were empty chairs behind me or Kat's station. I was furious when I left. It shouldn't matter if I paid $1,500.00 or $10.00 for a purse it should have never been put on a floor full of hair and dust. My second encounter with the owner wasn't much better. She comes across so rude. As I was having my hair cut I got to listen to all the gossip about everyone in town. Being new to the area I thought how unprofessional. I will select my appointments now when I know the owner will not be in the salon. I love how Kat does my hair and will not give her up. But the owner makes it unpleasant to be in there with her. read more

Heritage Salon is amazing! Tami got me (bride), my mom, and one of my bridesmaids in on a pinch. She was amazingly quick, precise, witty, sweet, and just generally an amazing artist and person. The location has a great Steel Magnolia feel - very intimate and lots of fun jewelry and accessories to pick through. My Matron of Honor had a style in mind that she tried to achieve for her wedding, but nobody in her town could create it for her. Tami got it perfect on one try! I gave her a picture of what I would have liked to have done and amazing results and my hair is still in perfect order even after dancing and sleeping on it the night of the wedding. I also love that she made my mom feel beautiful with her hair and welcomed my family running in and out of her studio. Tami and Kelly were amazing for my friend's wedding!!! Every person in the wedding party looked perfect. Both stylists were very efficient and had us all ready to go early. They both put a lot of time and detail into making sure we liked how they were styling our hair. We loved how they added braids to some of our hairstyles. All of the styles stayed in all night.
