My initial impression was that the facility was clean, sanitized and the staff work continually to keep it that way. I have not 'floated' before so this was quite a different experience. When you enter the float room you are given a bag with a robe, ear plugs and a wrap for the adventure. There is a shower with the essentials for your hair and body. When your ready you step up into a 'pod' filled with water, a blue light glows with soft spa type sounds. Floating for an hour, just relaxing and clearing your mind gave me a sense of peace and control of self. The sauna was next and that was a perfect end to my journey. If your feeling stressed with issues of your day or the problems of our community and our country seem to overwhelm you, this is a way to let all of that go and just be yourself, mind, body and soul. read more

I am visiting the in-laws in Grass Valley and I love to Float. While I was up for Thanxgiving I had read in the paper and heard around town that GV was getting a Float Center. Amazing! I received a gift card as a present and was stoked to give this new place a go. They did not disappoint. I called a few days before my appointment and the lovely lady on the phone was very helpful. It is very easy to find, right off the hustle and bustle of the main section of GV. Big parking lot and easy in/out parking. The front desk staff were very chipper and friendly. My partner in this adventure opted for a 15 minute Infrared Sauna before his float so I just relaxed in the well sized lobby/lounge. Amazing artwork hangs on three walls of the seating area. The fourth wall is a glass wall looking out onto a beautiful 1920's art deco Veterans Building. Amazing natural light fills the open space and modern-chic lighting fixtures adorn the walls and ceiling. We opted for the 90 minute float, b/c really who floats for just an 1/24th of a day! We were escorted back to a private area that housed all three float rooms and sauna. A nice quite sitting area was back there with cool cucumber water and light snacks if you are so inclined. Each float room is eloquently set up with a shower, bench, and hooks to hang your belongings. It is so convenient to have the shower right next to the door of the tank. You can easily shower then pop into the abyss. The tanks are built right into the wall so there is no wasted space in the room. A great set-up! The solution in the tank was flawless. So clear and clean, it sparkled like blue Icelandic water! Amazing. There is soft music and a soothing voice instructing you to lay back and relax. You can choose the light level and music level from water proof buttons just off to your side. Extremely quiet and comfortable. Many other floats centers I have visited only have 8-10" of solution in the tank. Not here, it felt like 12-14" of solution. Amazing how plush it felt to have a deeper than usual solution bed. Thank you! After 90 minutes a soft voice brought me back to my senses, I showered and primped and was greeted by all three owners out in the luxurious lobby. They were so very friendly. We talked for a good 30-45 minutes about floating and the launch of their new endeavor. It was a great end to a great float. If you have floated before or have only been hearing about it, you gotta give Revival a try. They are professional and friendly and have an amazing space here in Grass Valley. Got the package deal of massage, float and sauna. I did not enjoy massage by Bria. From my personal experience she was very off on my muscles, could use more practice on her draping, technique and customer care. The main space was nice and fresh, refreshing cucumber water and nice soaking space. read more

This place is amazing! From the moment I walked in the door, I became more relaxed by the minute. They offered tea, lemon-infused water, dried mango, and almonds while I waited, and also while I was in the sauna. The sauna was great. I was allowed to control the temperature, and the radio. I was given both a sarong and a robe, to suit my preference. The float chamber was easy to use and understand, and my private shower was great. Best of all, it was very affordable. As a Nevada City realtor, life is often hectic and fast paced and I don't have enough time to do my daily meditation practice. I just hit Revival for the first time a few days ago. It was nothing less than incredible! First off, the facility is incredibly clean. The towels even smelled fluffy and fresh ! Second, the experience was amazing. Within 15 minutes, I dropped into a meditation space that has taken me hours to reach on my own. It was profound. I also had a handful of those really nice insights about life that arise when in the deep meditative state. I called to schedule her an appointment, not only was the staff very friendly and informative they had an opening in one hour. We showed up and was offered cold water and shown how the tank works. One of the most amazing experiences I've had in a long time. I was skeptical about how I would feel or if it made any difference, physically. I was pleasantly surprised on both fronts. From the time I walked in and was greeted by the friendly and professional staff, until I left feeling relaxed and energized. I highly recommend this treatment for muscle recovery, body relaxation and all around well being. If there were more stars, I'd check them all. Couldn't say enough nice things. This is one of my favorite things to do ever. So relaxing and peaceful. I feel like I was well instructed. One of the reviewers below seems to be under the impression there was supposed to be a jet the whole time. The jets are only once you're done to clean the tub and the music and lights are buttons you fully control once your in so pay no mind. Don't let her misunderstanding keep you from experience this. It's amazing. I especially love it during pregnancy to give me some rest from all the aches and pains. read more

It was not a great experience for me. It started with the website... trying to get a "combo" appointment (sauna and float) which was painfully challenging, even for the most experienced web user. Then when I got to the place, things did not go well. There was one staff person on duty who pretty much forgot that I was there all together. I was told that I would be taken through the process every step of the way but that turned out to not be the case. I was left in the sauna for over an hour and 10 minutes and finally left to go check the time because "45 minutes" was feeling very long. Additionally, the only way to turn the sauna down was to keep the door open. The temp was way too high for an infrared sauna. To boot, there was no "infrared" to be seen. When I finally captured the attention of the staff person to help me with the float, I was given almost no direction other than "in 6 minutes," I could expect the bath to turn on and I would be able to get music. Neither ever happened. I was also told that once my hour was up, there would be an audio message that would be piped in. That message never came. I finally got out of the bath to check the time and once again, I had been left there for an hour and twenty minutes (paid for 60 minutes)- with no working jet and no music. It was only after I got out of the bath that the jet turned on. I spent over 2 1/2 hours at Revival Float and almost nothing worked properly. As I got dressed and walked out, there was also not a single person staffing the place. No one to talk to and no one to share how disappointing the experience was... I just walked out the front door and the place was empty. It was a strange experience at best and sadly I will not return. read more

We've been going to Revival Float since it opened a few years ago. At our first visit the owner gave us a detailed tour. He was super engaging and was easily able to win our hesitant and doubting high school aged son over. The atmosphere in the spacious lobby is industrial modern, very comfortable and serene. There are couches to lounge on, books to peruse, artwork to admire, cucumber water and dried fruit and nuts to snack on. We usually show up a bit early just to wind down in the chill atmosphere. We always opt to take a sauna first. No need to bring a swimsuit, they provide you with a sarong or robe which makes it easy. You have control over the temp in the sauna and the receptionist will tell you when your time is up and you can go into your personalized float room. There are 3 private float rooms. The water in the salt bath is around body temperature, and as you come out of the sauna you are generally super hot, so I usually take a cool shower to get my body temperature back down so the water in the bath doesn't seem cold. It should feel neutral. In the tank they give you options - blue light or no light. I choose no light because I want to completely cut off from the world. My husband and son both leave the blue light on. There is also relaxing spa-type music you can leave on or turn off, and they have different volume levels to choose from as well. Again, I turn it off so I can have a completely quiet, dark, and calming experience. The feeling in the tank - in the dark and silence - for me is extremely relaxing and healing. From a physical perspective, my body is able to relax at a level I cannot find any other way, even from massage. My head, neck, back, etc., gets into perfect alignment from my complete relaxation as the water cradles me. Often the water serves as a chiropractor and I will hear small, gentle cracks as my body finds better alignment. Having suffered from a few accidents in recent years, it is amazing for me to be able to let go, physically and emotionally, in such a way. While in the tank my emotions are also relaxed and heightened at the same time. Because I feel such alignment and peace in my body, I am always overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude. It is often a time for reflection for me, and then after getting very relaxed, I find myself in a deep meditative state - and I am not one who meditates. After the float, my husband, son and I spend a few more minutes relaxing in the lobby and we share our experiences in the tanks, as each time is a little different. It is also interesting to note that neither of them are easily open about their feelings, but the flotation tank tends to bring this out in them. It has weirdly become an ongoing family activity that none of us can describe very well to others, but we all look forward to repeating over and over. Revival Float is my favorite wellness activity, both for myself and with my family. read more

Stress and strain from the job just melts away. I find that I sleep better, am calmer, less prone to frustration. A weekly float on their plan keeps me sane and is such a great price. If you have children, then you definitely need a float. Highly recommend and am so grateful to have one in grass valley. Oh, suggest doing the sauna before, 15 minutes to start and move up to 30 minutes as your return. Totally relaxes you and detoxes you making the float more effective. Revival float and wellness was the most relaxing hour I've ever spent money on. The price is well worth it and the hospitality is amazing. From the time I walked into the building I felt at home. The art on the wall gave it a warm open feeling. The tanks that you float in is a great size and the water is amazing. The right temp and everything. I suggest that any and everyone goes to float. And if you never have done it before this spot is the best to go for your first time. And after your float you can sit relax and drink tea and have conversation with the owners.
