I was gifted a facial here at Refresh & I couldn't have been more excited, after reading all of the great reviews! The ambience is so calm & relaxing from the moment you walk through the gate. After checking in, I was quickly taken into my room. I've never had a facial done before so Mindy kindly explained the process to me before she started the treatment. My favorite part was definitely the hot & cold stones. Mindy was excellent & I'm happy I was booked with her. If you're thinking of getting a facial I highly recommend refresh. I was really excited to give Refresh a try. While the staff was pleasant and the spa itself was very cozy and well kept, I found the massage was sub-par. Let me stress the point that I get A LOT of massages, but this was just the strangest experience. I paid for a full body massage which has always included legs, upper legs and glutes, as well as lower back, upper back, shoulders, neck, some scalp work... Well, it began okay, but by the time she moved to my lower back, she barely worked it and then (over a blanket) poked my glutes a couple of times with her knuckles and then moved onto the lower legs where she stopped just around the back of my knee and did some pressure point release work for my sciatica pain (that did not work). My thighs were completely overlooked, as well. So basically, I remained covered from my knees to my lower back and this area was never massaged except for a couple of pokes with her knuckles over the blanket. So strange! I could understand this if someone was modest and specifically requested it, but I did not. This place was pretty pricey, but that's okay if I'm getting a good massage. But the service just wasn't worth it. I walked out feeling more aggravated than "refreshed" as my lower back and sciatica pain were the primary reasons for my visit in the first place. I would suggest when calling for an appointment, that you specifically ask if your therapist is comfortable with glute and thigh work and how they perform it. read more

This is a wonderfully relaxing and cozy spot located down the path behind a salon. I was a little confused when I arrived as to where I was going, but it only took a second to figure out. The garden area in front is lovely and makes for a perfect spot to come relax after your massage with a nice cup of coffee, cider, or tea, all of which are available to you in the reception area of the spa. I had a massage with Heather and it was incredible! I've had massages at some of the most highly rated spas in America (Spruce Peak, Old Edwards) and this massage was easily comparable, if not better. I've been here a couple of times over the years for relaxing massages. Recently, I needed a therapeutic massage to help with my neck's pain and limited mobility. I made an appointment with Lynn for last week. She really dug into my neck and shoulder area, making me feel better than I had in two months. I could readily feel the difference when turning my head when reversing the car. Today, I came back for a followup to focus on the same area and feel even better. Super cute spa in the heart of Sutter Creek. The spa was nicely decorated and very clean, everyone in there was so nice and welcoming. I had the cranial sacral massage and a deep tissue massage by Heather. It was amazing!She really knew what she was doing and took the time to work out my knots and problem areas. He said the therapist listened to him about where his aches and pains were and she really tuned in to the level of pressure that was perfect for him. He was like a limp noodle after and very happy. She honed in on all the right areas and almost felt like she could read my mind during haha! Don't let her petite frame fool you, shes very strong and VERY talented.
