My friend and I did a stage makeup lesson with Neeta. We are both dancers in the Indian classical genre. Neeta was very enthusiastic, quite detail-oriented and in general super helpful. She gave us step by step lessons and made sure we got it by making us practice on each other. Her product recommendations based on our skin tone turned out to be accurate as well. I can say my face makeup has undergone a sea change after the session with her. Neeta also has been available on text to answer questions afterward and even did facetime with my friend walking her through the process after the lesson for a show. I am very impressed with her sincerity toward her work. I also have been to their Brookline location multiple times for eyebrow threading and have never been disappointed. I went here several times throughout the year because of their student discount. They rush through the threading process and my skin has been slightly cut once or twice. They can be quite aggressive and it feels like they aren't paying attention. They once left my friends eyebrows uneven. first time customer getting a brazilian wax here and second time getting one in general. Got a groupon so it was relatively cheap but I got what I paid for. Quick but not a satisfying quick (hehe). SHe put baby powder and then went right for it. NOT SANITARY AT ALL she double dips her wax stick- so ashamed I didn't realize it until the end since I was trying to concentrate on the ceiling. Then when she was done she rubbed some type of lotion which helped sort of. When I got home I realized she missed some spots and a couple days later my hair grew back like it was shaved. Most terrible waxing job with the most rude staff members! She burned my underarms during the wax, and left very large and dark demarcated burn marks around both underarms. It has been several weeks and the marks are still there. Also, all of the hair was not fully removed and they requested I tip more than 15%. read more

This was truly a nightmare wax. Unprofessional, unsanitary, and ineffective. She didn't cleanse the area before waxing, not even with an alcohol wipe to disinfect. Her technique was messy to say the least-- she didn't let the wax set and then used the same strip several times! Unbelievable. She also double-dipped. She made fun of my body, literally laughing and pointing. No joke. The worst part? *24 hours later* I am covered in STUBBLE! There goes all my waxing progress over last several months... I had trouble finding threading salons in Boston, but about a year ago was (thankfully) pointed in the direction of Heritage. Since then, I've been coming every three weeks or so. I love having a place by my house that I can trust will give me great brows every time. The wait is never long, and all of the threaders are friendly. Cash only, but there's a CVS next door I usually pick up cash at. Plus, it's very reasonably priced ($12, $15 with tip). My only gripe is that they aren't open on Sundays/ Mondays, but this can be avoided by planning ahead! read more

Aug 2017 We have been coming to this salon for lip waxing. Last month my daughter had upper lip wax. The lady applied the wax too hot on my daughter upper lip. She burned my daughter upper lip. I called the salon and spoke with Punam, the manager and I told her what happened. She took my name and phone # and she told me that she will have the owner call me. The owner never called me. One thing about them too, that they're always rushing. They maybe cheap, but never care if the wax they're applying is hot or not. Very unhappy to what they did to my daughter! MC read more

I finally found a great threading salon in the village. It's always so tricky to find someone who does a good job. I always ask for Neeta. Threading can be painful if the right person doesn't do it and it's amazing to me how easily and painlessly Neeta finishes it off, in less than five minutes. I get both my upper lip and eyebrows done for 15$ which is actually the student rate. She does a perfect arch even though mine are round shaped, she manages to make an arch and it looks great each time! You got to carry cash though and walks in are welcome. read more

Love that I can drop in with no appointment and be seen right away (Friday afternoon). The space is reminiscent of a no-frills, old-school barbershop with fluorescent lighting, but you're literally in and out within 15 minutes (and your eyes are closed most of the time, so who cares?). Neeta was quick but thorough, expert, and my eyebrows were fabulously shaped and left thick. (In fact, they looked thicker than when I started thanks to some very strategic trimming.) I have known neeta(the owner ) for a very long time she does the best eyebrow threading,; almost painless..she shapes them to your liking and even has a chart for you to refer to for the desired shape. Although i always insist that she do my eyebrows her assistant is just as proficient in threading. The only caveat is that it's cash only business. I come here very often and have never been disappointed! I have never had to wait too long although there are only 2 threaders. They are always extremely thorough and professional which i like. Open on Sundays is nice as well. I have always been pleased with results It can be difficult to find but just go right in the arcade area. I've always walked in and never had to wait. It's normally $55 for a Brazilian but with the Groupon I think I bought two for just under the price of one. Would highly recommend the Groupon if you can get it! I love this place! The ladies are so nice and sweet, always smiling and happy. I've moved here for school and for the past 4 years this is the only threading and waxing salon I trust here in Boston. I have tried another threading place and was very disappointed but never disappointed when I go to heritage. I've been here for waxing arms, Brazilian, and eye brows threaded. They are quick and efficient. They are great with last minute appointments and offer a student discount which they have honored every time I have gone, I did not need my ID for every visit as they started to know who I was. I became close with the ladies just from regular appointments because the ladies really want to get to know you. My experiences here have been so great. I would highly highly recommend this salon to anyone, especially Indian/Punjabi populations because the aunties are so homely. But I recommend this for salon absolutely anyone! This is my first ever Yelp review, but I feel compelled after visiting the salon yesterday. Neeta was the most painless eyebrow threading I've ever gotten in either New York or Boston. She is fast, doesn't rip off your skin, and has a good eye for shape. She was also sweet about staying open a few minutes late since I couldn't make it until around 7pm. The price was reasonable at $12 for eyebrows, and super reasonable considering the quality of work. Only thing that could make this place even better is if they kept the place super clean. It is definitely clean overall, but maybe since I visited at the end of the day, it wasn't spotless. This won't stop me from going back though! read more
