I've been to the service department here twice and it is definitely not on par with the service I have experienced at other Toyota dealerships. First, it's just chaotic. Both times I have pulled my car into the service area and haven't been immediately connected with a service advisor. It's a long wait just to check into your appointment. They do have a spacious seating/work area which is nice because you're going to need it--when I was actually seen for my routine service check during my first visit I was there for at least half a day. In addition they have a system where they text you when your car is ready and tell you to see your service advisor for pick up, but when I got the text my service advisor had gone to lunch and it took me awhile to find anyone willing to just check me out. Second, I have some concerns about the quality of their work. When I came in for my routine service they said they changed the cabin filter and provided an air vent cleaning. Fast forward a month and the car smells terrible when I turn on the ventilation system--like mildew and urine. I made an appointment to get it checked out and when I arrived they basically told me I would have to leave my car for two days (a full weekend) to get any sort of diagnostic. For a mildew smell this sounded a little excessive, especially given that I made an appointment and this is a follow up on a service they just did. So, not only am I questioning the quality of the work they did a month ago, but now I've wasted time driving to the dealership to be told I can't even get any diagnostic service at my appointment time. I didn't necessarily expect a full fix immediately, but at the very least it would have been great to get some sense of what's going on, especially given that I was just there a month ago. I've gone to some really good service shops that would have taken a look right away because they would have felt badly that I had to bring my car in so soon after just being there, but definitely not this place. The great thing about this area is choice--tons of mechanics to choose from. So, I can't really think of a reason to come back here. read more

This service center was an extremely disappointing experience and is clearly run very inefficiently. I brought my Toyota Sienna in for a simple recall involving a loose bolt. I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment and arrived early at 9:50 a.m. After checking in, I waited for hours with no updates or progress. By 3:30 p.m.--after waiting over five and a half hours--I finally asked for my keys and left. The van was never serviced. I was told they had "until 5:00 p.m." to complete the work, which is completely unacceptable. Waiting 5.5 hours just to have a bolt checked and tightened makes no sense. My service advisor, Alfonso, was not helpful and showed no urgency or concern. It became very clear that recall work is deprioritized at this location. This is not a first-come, first-served service center. While I continued waiting, other customers who arrived after me were helped and left, while I was ignored. There was no apology, no accountability, and no respect for my time. I strongly believe this center pushes recall work to the end of the day and treats it as unimportant. I left frustrated and disappointed after wasting most of my day. I will never return to this service center, and I strongly advise others to avoid it--especially for maintenance or recall work. read more

I bought my 2017 Corolla from this Heritage Toyota and they added a 1 year warranty which I did not want. It was 1000 dollars. Now I did cancel this warranty with the finance dept. The official said it would be taken off. I even filled out a document that verified this occured. Despite having a signed document Heritage never deducted this charge. I have come here for service with my first and second car. A lot of things are part of a typical dealership experience; high prices but good quality service. This location is convenient to me and other things are in the area so that's good. Easy to make appointments and they do run specials. Today I got a wheel alignment for $99 which was the price at Pep Boys this year so I felt it was mildly competitive. They have free wifi, water and coffee/tea and free car washes with any service. Plus I like the complimentary inspections they do with every service. My usual service advisor is Britt Thobe and she's always been great, very satisfied with every interaction I've had with her, would highly recommend her! The only reason I took off a star is the high prices and the long wait times. If you come in the morning it might be better, since I always come in the afternoons. So expect a wait on Saturdays or during the week in the afternoon. Overall I would recommend them and I will continue to get some services done here when it makes sense comparatively. read more

Wow! It's obvious this place does not give a rat's behind on what Yelp has to say because their service is still VERY disappointing. I bought a '25 Camry with all the bells and whistles. The 1st and 2nd times for service went very well, but even with my extended warranty, I still get crappy service. Left a VM for service, saying I have been trying to reach them for the past month to get my Android Auto working. Emailing corporate did not do any good. I guarantee my next vehicle will not be a Toyota! Update (right after I wrote this): I did get a hold of corporate and actually spoke to someone. Told them of my issues and as it turns out, they too had trouble connecting to this place, go figure. A fire was lit, got a call from Heritage, and was told that they just switched systems (still not an excuse, but moved on with the car issues). My husband and I have been customers here for over 20 years. Overtime, the speed of service has slowed the cost increased. Today just getting a battery and alternator even with an appointment ahead of time has taken more than nine hours. My time is not valued. The place is noisy (3 radios, 1 tv). The coffee is great, free bottled water. $1348. No estimate provided, but I was told one was. Told that I was lucky to get it after nine hours because a towing was a 24 to 48 hour turnaround which I was also not told. I came in Saturday( 09/27/2025 )morning to look at a car with an appointment for them to tell us that the car we came to see was under maintenance and I wasn't able to test drive the car.No communication what so ever! They saw how frustrated we were so they send a HISPANIC GUY to come talk to us as if talking a different language was going to fix anything! I then asked if the price was going to be the same as it's listed online and another HISPANIC GUY said he was a finance manager had said "Yes it'll be the same price on Monday when the car is ready Monday". Fast forward to today 09/30/2025 I come in to see the car and the Car keys were no where to be found! Had us waiting 25mins plus! Damien then proceeded to throw the keys at Hindu which landed on the floor! In front of us! No apology whatsoever! We test drove the car and wanted to proceed with financial paperwork the car was listed at 25k its now increased. We talked about how much we was willing to pay for the car at the price we saw on the website at first. Brad said they couldn't go lower than 25k. The finance manager at Heritage Toyota quoted me two different interest rates -- one if I agreed to buy a worthless third-party warranty, and a higher rate if I declined. Bait and switched. Got a phone call asking me to come in to see several specific cars but when I got there 3 of the 4 cars were at other locations and had never been there to begin with. The only one that was actually there was in the shop as it wasn't yet presentable. If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I brought my car in on a Friday 6/6/25 for a simple maintenance check at Toyota of Catonsville. They told me my oil was fine and that the only thing needed was a tire rotation. As I drove off the lot, my car immediately started shaking. I contacted the service advisor, Chuck, who told us to return the next morning since they were closing for the day. That night, while driving on 695, my car completely shut off--with my child in the car. This is a vehicle that was running perfectly fine before I handed it over to Toyota. No lights, no issues, no warnings--just smooth driving. But within minutes of their "service," it became a safety hazard. I returned on Saturday 6/7/25 expecting them to fix what they clearly caused, but instead of taking accountability, they tried to deny responsibility and left me with a disabled vehicle. I have photos, timestamps, and all documentation showing exactly when I left the lot and when the car broke down. Toyota, you need to fix my vehicle. I will not rest until this is made right. OMG. I have found the wortst dealership in Maryland. STAY AWAY! I brought my car in for a diagnostic test. Alerting the dealership that my battery in my electric toyota BZ4X was operating below 65% of its normal capacity. I was only getting 131 miles per day fully charged, instead of 252 miles per day estimated as it perfomed when I first leased it 13 months ago. They said they would test the car and then get back to me. The warranty is the reason I leased this new Toyota car. OMG. They came back with no answer about my battery. They try to charge me $330.44 for a diagnostic and the rental car from toyota which was supposed to be FREE. OMG, this dealership lied to me. They knew they had a real lawsuit on their hands. The manager called me to say, we don't want you to visit here anymore. We aren't going to fix your car. But we will refund your money. It has been 7 days. No refund. OMG. I am so angry. I took my car for servicing, and Heritage Toyota Catonsville pretended to complete the service. I say pretend because a few days later, my car would not start that morning for work. When the hood was opened, the battery terminals were eroded etc. That is the only place I have taken my car for servicing in the last three years. I had to replace the battery, and they refused to reimburse me for it. There was a recall on parts concerning the battery. To date, that service has not been completed. They said I needed tire rotation and a checkup and there was an opening later that day. Biggest mistake to take my vehicle for MD State inspection at this place in Sept. 2024. Heritage quoted $2,771.90 of repair in order to pass, where the same vehicle passed inspect next day with only $40 repair to replace 4 burnt out light bulbs. 1. False advertisement Their website advertised state inspect cost is $149.95, but at the counter the cost turned into $248.00, almost $100 increase. 2. Not providing requested service. The vehicle went in for MD state inspection. They kept the vehicle for full 2 days, never produced a MD State inspection report, but generated a repair estimate for $2,771.90. They held the vehicle hostage unless paying them $250, not sure where's the extra $2 coming from, and how it ends up to $250.00 exact without 1 cent more or less still puzzles me to this day. 3. Fraud The same vehicle passed safety inspection next day at another shop by only replacing 4 burned out light bulbs for $40. This proves the fraud practice of Heritage Toyota Catonsville to use State inspection to force customer for ~$2.8k unnecessary repair. Never bring your vehicle here. They will for sure find something to rip you off. They should be called Hostage Toyota. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. In late July, I put a deposit down on an "in transit" '23 Prius Prime XSE Premium, a car that is like, a unicorn to find on the east coast. Vehicle was gonna take about a month to get to this "dealership". That's fine. I spoke to a few different sales reps before one human became my handler. The dealership quoted me $8,000 over MSRP. Damn. Supply and demand I guess. I wanted this car, so I sucked it up. I spoke to a sales manager. And another. There were texts messages. There were voicemails. And they had my $1000. I live in Virginia, about 3.5 hours away. The date of the vehicle arriving kept getting pushed back. I had told all 17 people I spoke to that I was in the military, and had to attend training the last 10 days of August, so if the vehicle was delayed any further I couldn't pick it up until 1 September. Of course, that's what happened. So I called and talked to Bill, a sales manager, while I sat in the sun in Fort Lejeune. "All good! It'll be here" was the resounding reply... I returned from training a day early, and picked up the phone. I left messages for each of the humans. The day before I was scheduled to pick it up, I started calling. I called all day. It was 7pm that night when they started screening my calls. Literally. I was sent to voicemail and couldn't get through to the main operators who direct calls. My plan was to wake up at 0500 to leave by 0530 to beat traffic to get to the dealership by 0900. Now, the hour growing late, no one was answering--literally. I borrowed my girlfriend's cell phone. Wouldn't ya know, picked up on the first ring! I asked to speak to a sales rep, literally any human. The nice gentlemen told me "my car" had been sold several days prior. Best of all? They hadn't refunded my deposit. I understand if they couldn't hold it any longer. I understand if someone came in and bought it for more money. All of these things, I understand. But the lack of simple professionalism? ONE voicemail and I would have been bummed and a little pissed off, but certainly not crushing out this review. Screening my calls? Not returning my deposit?? Childish. Grow up. Be an adult. Pick up the phone. The same night, I found the exact same make/model/trim (with a few extras) at Koons Toyota in Annapolis. The price was $6k less than this circus tent offered me. I drove up the next morning and bought it cash. In and out in less than 2 hours. Look at the reviews. Read them. This was maybe the worst sales process ever. At first it seemed great, responsive, straightforward, etc. But then I started getting calls from different sales people trying to get me to come in and test drive or try to sell me a different car in a super pushy way. I don't know if y'all have heard of this thing called the internet. A person can do their own research on vehicles and make a decision before wasting their time speaking to one of your sales people. And "speaking" is used in the proverbial way, since it was clear no one was listening to me. Dear Reader, I spent more than 10 minutes on the phone going back and forth with the most sales-speaky sales guy since Kurt Russell tried to sell a Buick Convertible Centurion. He was absolutely insistent that one model of a car was identical to another model of car. They weren't even part of the same series. "Just a few cosmetic differences", he tells me. Spoiler: one car was electric and the other was gas. But oh yes, identical. I'm a woman. What could I possibly know about things? What's next? Voting rights? Property ownership? I offered to give the commission to anybody at the dealership who could not-bulls**t me. And I got no takers. I ended up buying a car elsewhere. And now I have the issue of no matter what I do I can't seem to get off of their stupid mailing list. read more

As a first time customer to the service area, you could improve by providing better customer service. You should be honest about appointment times. They mean nothing. Not being sure of the service process, no one offered to reach out and help. It was like, maybe she won't ask me and then I won't need to help. Finally figured out where to bring the car and someone completed the initial paperwork and told me to go inside and get help from anyone. Found an open rep to ask if I needed to give him the paperwork I was given or someone else?? Told him this was my first visit. His reply, don't know - let me see it. Rude. Waiting 2 1/2 hours. Retrieve car and not washed. He tells me I had to request that. How the hell would I know to request that if it's my first time getting service for the vehicle. Would assume it's standard. Lack of courtesy. Lack of any sincere customer service to help understand the process being a new customer who purchased their car there. Like entering the night of the living dead. read more

Brought my Tundra to this dealer for service since it was the closest to my house and the wheel felt like it was going to fall off. Wow was that a huge mistake! I told them the hub/bearing may be bad. Turns out it was the hub and bearing assembly. They gave me a recommendation for repairs that exceeded $12,000. I look and it includes things like wheels and tires, I have after market wheels and tires which have been fine for 2.5 years, still have stock as a back up but prefer my aftermarket wheels/tires. I mentioned a noise under the hood and the technician (Brian), must have thought to just replace anything that could rattle, included everything from a fan assembly to a idler, tensioner, serpintene belt. Is this what they charge $185 an hour for, what kind of diagnostic is that? I asked the advisor (Curtis) how much to replace the bad hub/bearing assembly. He gave a quote of $3800, the hub is about $343, bearing maybe $126, so how are we getting to $3,800? Curtis was unable to answer that question so I had my car towed from there for $145 to another shop. Had both hub/bearings replaced with alignment and oil change, all Toyota parts, for $2100. Mile One Toyota quoted me $3800 for one side, no alignment or oil change included in that quote. I expected a little more from the dealership but was sadly disappointed. I bought a car end of February. Was told everything worked perfectly. Well once the end of April comes around and I go to use the air conditioning it's not working. I call they say they will charge me $600 to look at it and it's probably just in need of a Freon recharge. I obviously declined. Then they call back and say oh well look at it for you for free but for a Freon recharge it will be $450-$600, I declined and went to my mechanic who would charge me a normal price. And come to find out there's a problem with the whole control panel not the Freon. I'm still not sure what's wrong with it because I don't have the money it diagnosed and fixed after getting stuck in a car payment higher than I said I can afford. They offered no help sold me a car that was not working how they claimed it was and absolutely don't car I bought a car I can't even take my newborn anywhere in when it's hot because the air still doesn't work. Even though when I got the car they told me it was!!!!! They literally don't care and said oh even though we said it worked oh well it's not a necessity. read more

I feel like this service center endangered my safety. Soon after getting an engine replacement from this Toyota, my car began shaking violently on the highway. I was able to pull to safety and get it towed. But as some back story the service center installed a bad engine in my car. They offered to replace it with another engine. At this point we were concerned about the quality of the engines they are purchasing and asked to cancel work. They refused to honor this request. After talking with the police, other dealerships, and making a complaint with Toyota corporate, it was clear while these things are up to the business owners discretion this behavior was well outside the norm. They installed the second engine. Though they used a cheap used engine they massively overcharged us at $8300. And now my fears about the quality of the work are fully realized as the car broke down right away. My wife and I both thought Mr. Steely was an absolute bully. Two days later and the front panel is loose (supposedly a "minor issue" on CARFAX) , and the temp license plate is gone. Tried for 6 plus hours to TALK TO A PERSON there at this dealership!
