I want to like this place, because it is clean and conveniently placed. But that is where any of the positives end. Every time I have come here it, each visit would get slightly more aggravating. Their public hours are lacking, however at least they open at 9AM on the weekends. The check in process is usually fairly quick. They provide eye and ear pro, and a selection of 5-6 different type of target with no extra charge. Going to the range is where it gets bad. You will get some kind of comment from the RO every single time. While I am not opposed to tight safety, each time it gets a little more ridiculously arbitrary. It's always based on something that happened with a customer in the past. The amount of restrictions has reached a critical mass at this point. I would consider myself a reasonably safe and mindful shooter, and I just want to shoot in peace. It gets annoying having someone stare over your shoulder constantly. It kills any semblance of fun. Overall, this place seems to be targeting new shooters. Anyone that shoots more than 2-3 times will have outgrown this place by that point. This is most evident with their pricing. The classes, ammo, and their gun store are extremely overpriced. I would even opine the pricing is predatory, targeting people who just don't know any better. As someone who keeps up to date on ammo prices in general, I can say that the ammo there is sold at 2-3x times the price you could get it online. The ammo is also usually the absolute cheapest you can buy of that caliber. Usually, it's limited to that one batch/brand they have at the time. The gun store prices charge anywhere between a 25-40% markup on firearms. The selection is decently sized at least, but I would still recommend shopping elsewhere. Judging based on my experience over the last year or so, I will be looking for a different range to go to. The two stars is for the fact they keep it clean and relatively fresh looking. read more

Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and just plain rude. Specifically an overly aggressive employee named Rachel. Please avoid her if your unlucky enough to have to patron this place. My original class was canceled with only one day notice. The class was not reschedule until two weeks later. I got a call a day before the second notice an hour an fifteen minutes before class asking me to be there 30 minutes early. I live an hour and 15 minutes away. Took the hql class on 4-5-20 with the wife, buddy, his wife and sister in law. Class was taught by larnell and was very informative and professional. He was patient and understanding of all attending students. I now have a much better understanding of firearms and will def visit again in the future to use the range. I recommend using heritage for your hql certification because they Include 15 live rounds. Hql class was $160/pp. read more

Pros: Nice facility, well-organized, up to date, seems very safe Cons: Charged 5x the current rate for ammo, the lady at the front desk had her mask positioned below her nose (only covering her mouth) with ZERO effort to pull it up over her nose (not even one attempt during the 15 minutes we spend paying and filling out paperwork). Also, nearly every member of staff had to constantly pull up their mask because they kept falling down, the guy in the range wasn't wearing a mask at all, and neither of the two hand sanitizers I tried worked. Too many restrictions and the red shirts seemed to be over my shouldered while shooting which made me uncomfortable. I was told that I need to slow down because I was shooting too quickly. Hmm, during the pre range brief, the red shirt stated that they allow automatic gun fire, but my pistol shooting was too rapid for a semi-automatic trigger pull and I'm a bit confused and will shoot at another range. read more

I feel as if I am cheating on my regular range, but I really do like this range - A LOT. The facility is beautiful, with state-of-the-art equipment and a large inventory of rental guns so that you can try before you buy. The lighting on the lanes is wonderful - which is a bonus for more "mature" folks like me. I have noticed that other people have criticized the safety rules here and find it restrictive. I personally like that they are as safety conscious as they are. I have been to other ranges that are a little more "relaxed", and frankly I've occasionally been next to people who have made me a little nervous about how they were operating their firearm. So long as you are safe, the staff here are very encouraging and supportive. We've also tried the simulator, which is a blast and really does help you become more agile in your skills. Yes, it's expensive. There are cheaper places to shoot. We only planned on trying it once to see what it was like, but we keep going back because of the welcoming environment, and supportive staff. BEAUTIFUL range. Too many rules for my liking, yet I'll still stop in once in a while to get some quality pew pew in with some of my first time shooter friends. I get it, safety first. I get it. I get it. When it comes to safety and beauty of range with state of the art equipment and professional staff... This is Your Range. It's like walking into a bank that you probably don't have any business walking into, you know, those Just for millionaires and billionaires banks that require a special key, hand print ID, and corneal identification. hah. What happens on your first visit. Paperwork signing of course, like any other range. They provide a special card ($5 or $10), take your picture for their database (not printed on the card) matched to that card. Its not quite a membership though, its just a card that allows you access to shoot, lets them know you've signed the paperwork and taken the safety brief. They provide a 10-15 minute powerpoint guided safety brief. After all the administrative stuff, you now have access to the back counter where the lane rentals, gun rentals, and ammunition purchase can happen. You can bring your own ammo! They only require range ammo for rental guns. Also a Huge plus, included in the lane rental is targets (as many as you want!), ear protection, and eye protection. Most other ranges charge extra for all that. With all that said, why only 4 stars? I'm not a fan of, "you can't have more than one weapon out at a time". Its my personal preference. I'd rather have all my weapons out and ready to shoot. I think that time to properly clear your weapon and secure it in a case, and secure your ammunition, then the time to get the next weapon set up, its too long. You only have an hour to shoot (if you're trying to stay within budget) and if you have another shooter with you... more time not shooting than shooting. I'm all about safety, but also efficiency. Its a great place to take a first time shooter, or if you're going to shoot one weapon. If you are a first time shooter. This is your place to go. Really really like this place! As you can see from reviews it's clean. Great staff very helpful and welcoming. I had a friend tell me about this place and so glad he did! This will be a great place to blow of a little steam during lunch break. You have to go through the usual stuff reading, testing, rules, signing then you get your range card. Visit their awesome retail shop... really awesome because you can handle everything and learn about every firearm they have! Super friendly staff there as well. Range officers are great, follow rules and you won't have problems. The customers are actually pretty cool as well. My first experience at this range made a very positive impression on me and I can't wait to go back. Shooting lanes are well lit, state of the art and exceptionally ventilated. Best part is if you bring your own firearm you can use your own ammo (once they check it out). Range of weapons allowed is nicely varied for an indoor range (up to .44mag pistol, .308 rifle, 10ga shotgun) Staff at the rental counter knowledgeable helpful and gave great recommendations. The courses are great, but the range use afterwards is ridiculous. They are on your back watching what you do all the time. Its very distracting and it makes your time there anything but enjoyable. Ive been to the range twice and both time they asked to see my ammunition to make sure it in compliance. Not sure why they singled me out, I follow all there rules. Very nice and clean range but a bit pricey! You can tell really quickly that they are really about safety. This is personally my favorite gun range that I've experienced so far and I wish I could sign up for a membership but sadly they don't offer any yearly membership discounts anymore. Heritage is a beautiful indoor range. Like all indoor ranges, it is not a long distance rifle range, but you can shoot rifles inside. The classes offered are excellent, and taught by trained professionals, but quality isn't cheap. I would highly recommend their Maryland HQL course if you are looking to buy a handgun in the future. read more

I like shooting at Heritage gun range. It is a very nice, pristine, range that makes one feel that they are in a doctors office or shooting at a Beverly Hills facility, and not at a range. The facility is excellent; however, the range staff are too stuffy, formal, with too many nit-picky rules. The range officers tend to hover behind you as you shoot, which can be annoying. It is not a relaxed place to shoot. In my opinion, I rather shoot at the Machine Gun Nest; as they are much more relaxed--making for a more enjoyable outing. read more

What a place! They are all professional from start to the end. My husband and I was there today taking a Basic Handgun SemiAuto class and it was very informative and hands on training. We went to a shooting range in Rockville years ago and wasn't that impressed and we sure didn't leave that place feeling a little more confident about a gun. As a more novice shooter, some ranges can be intimidating. Heritage was the opposite- bright, clean, inviting, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. From the front desk staff to the rental/sales staff to the RSOs, everyone was approachable and professional. You can shoot your own ammo if you use your own firearm, and their prices are so much more reasonable than other ranges I have been to. There's no membership fee except for a one time $10 range card, and since my husband and I shot on the same lane it was only $35 for the hour ($25 first person, $10 second). I'd highly recommend to those who are looking to learn gun safety and proper shooting techniques/defense training in a relaxed and safe environment. Everything about this shooting range is top quality and professional. The staff is polite and friendly, they take their time answering questions and never make you feel stupid. Lane rental is a bit high, but it does cover all the targets, eyes and ears. I personally don't mind a higher lane charge here because I don't feel nickel and dimmed about paying 15c for targets or $2 for eye wear, it's al inclusive. I love that they have a staff member in the room with you the entire time. The lanes are computerized and digital! I love coming here and can't wait to come back! read more

There's a reason why the Machine Gun Nest has a 45 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon, and this place has at least 7 lanes open on range 2 alone. The ultra aggressive and fanatical range "safety" officer made the experience both more dangerous and regrettable. If someone is doing something incorrectly, instead of rushing up to them with your hand on your sidearm screaming insanely, perhaps one should get some anger management training before occupying such a position. So sad really, because before they went to there shortened hours during the week for drop-ins, this place was great... now, the last two times, including one time visiting the retail shop where the surly employee couldn't be bothered to lift his head from his cell phone, I used to enjoy this place. I realize this may have been a one time employee acting completely unprofessional, but with the variety of places around, I will never return. read more

A very great and friendly shooting range, when you first walk in you enter a beautiful lobby, greeted by a friendly person in the front desk. The staff and instructors are nice and great. Never did I feel uncomfortable shooting my AR-556. Also for people who are renting and buying ammunition, they have a good array to rent and ammunition prices are not to bad. Also complementary ear/eye protection is a great plus. The only problem was that me and my cousin had to wait over 30 mins for a instructors to give us our safety class.
