The nurses and the providers are so nice. They answered all my questions and are super helpful.

I was told that my insurance would be verified before my appointment. I went ahead with the appointment, my bad, assuming they verified the insurance. Come to find that they had the wrong group number down and didn't even tell me. They are no longer in my network therefore the charges I incurred for my labs- $257 I am out. They are completely unorganized. They entered my birthdate wrong from the beginning and I have asked them to change it no less than 10 times and it's still wrong. They continue to submit my prescriptions and all my lab work with the wrong birthdate. I have asked so many people to change it and it's still wrong. So frustrating as they are submitting to my insurance wrong and I keep getting bills. read more

Be very cautious and go to your doctor first before letting them do anything to you! And if you don't have a doctor then don't go to these people. I went for a women's wellness check focusing on hormones. They did bloodwork and it cost me $250. Upon filling out my paperwork the nurse practitioner came in and reviewed my history, what I was looking for, how I was feeling. One of the things we discussed was my thyroid, I had been diagnosed with hyper thyroidism about two years before but beat it, thyroid was in full remission and normalized. When I came back to review the blood results with the NP, she said that my thyroid was down one point and wanted to put me on some sort of meds to speed up my thyroid. I came here for my hormones not thyroid. Sidenote, hyperthyroidism is when your thyroid is out of wack, it's high and it tells your body to go go go go go and it is a challenge to get it to slow down and be normal again. This NP wanted to speed up my thyroid after she knew that I had a recent history with hyperthyroidism! It did not sound right to me at all. I reiterated to her asking if she thought that was the best thing considering I had hyperthyroidism, she said yes yes yes this is will will help normalize your thyroid. Then she said that my testosterone was low and wanted to put me on a testosterone treatment but some thing in my mind told me to go and talk to my doctor before letting them do anything. Sure enough, my doctor said NO! About speeding up my thyroid, she said why would you want to do that to a hyperthyroidism patient, if your thyroid is only down one point and you have a history of hypothyroidism, that is the worst thing you could do. With that I didn't even want them to do hormone treatment on me. To me, that? They have no idea what they're doing and they're messing with peoples health. So I caution everyone about this place, they do not know what they're doing, and I don't believe they have anyone's health in their best interest. I believe they just want to make money. read more

Although I live about 40 miles away, I've used this clinic (and other chain locations) for hormone bloodwork and my annual exams because women's healthcare in my area is impossible to schedule (every obgyn is scheduling 2-6 months out). But after my last visit, I expressed my concerns: after my previous visit for blood work, nobody had called to follow up with my results-- results that showed alarming numbers that indicated my course of treatment needed to be changed. The nurse practitioner assured me that was a gross oversight and wouldn't happen again. Well, I went in for a PAP two weeks ago today... still no call back? I called today at 9a and left a message. I called back at 2p and the receptionist said the practitioner had my message and I was on the list for call backs today... but that never happened. I cannot trust my health needs will ever be taken seriously by this clinic... after several years of this chain messing up prescriptions and the clear lack of regard for people's health concerns, I'm done giving HerKare any more chances. read more

BEWARE! They will have you come in for every little thing just to bill you after telling you something different. I'll start with a compliment. The front desk lady is awesome! Her bedside manner is always friendly and welcoming... Staff has changed some since my previous visit (approx. 1 year ago). The AA lady that was there before was great! The new NP, Robin,is rude and speaks to her staff aggressively and at times demeaning and I just got a nugget of it, so I can only imagine. Moving right along... I have always had issues giving blood (tiny veins, when and if you can find them) so I pretty much know this and most times have to have a seasoned person draw my blood. Well, after being poked and prodded, veins chased and dug into, they busted my vein which lead to at least a week of a swollen and sore hand. Basically got a pat on the head (figuratively) and sent on my way and told if I start to lose feeling in my hand to come back. WTF?! So, my hand goes down after about 2 weeks, and I come back to review my results, after being told it would be a phone call by another young lady. After talking with Robin, she insisted for me to come in if I could. I'm thinking there was something wrong. Nope 5/10 mins in and out. During this convo I was told to think about a medication we discussed and give a call back when and if I make a decision (no time stamp was given). So, I call back (approx3 weeks later) as instructed to be told I need to come in to have her write the script. The hell?! Nope! It's a bunch of running around just to bill you for what can simply be a call. Needless to say I will not be back. This is unnecessary. I know there are policy and procedures to follow but really Robin, really!? It seems like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and it feels very money driven and disingenuous. Worst care I've ever had. I've only seen the NP and her bedside manner isn't great. She speaks really quickly when going over test results. The NP was supposed to have called in a prescription for me which has now been over 2 weeks and I still don't have the prescription. I've called and left messages with the phone service and with the front desk attendant and never get a callback. I've had a new development this week, so I called today and had to leave a voicemail I guess we shall see if I ever get a callback. read more

After reviewing their website to see what services they offer, I decided to schedule an appointment for a Well Woman's Exam to include a Pap Smear and a blood test. Since I am self pay, I specifically asked the lady over the phone how much it would cost and she told me $350. I reiterated, "So $350 includes the Well Woman's Exam, Pap Smear and blood test?" and she said, "Yes". I also wrote it down as we were speaking so I would remember. I went to my appointment and my initial impression was positive; the lady at the front desk is very nice, loved the decor and was happy to see how clean it was. After I went to the room (which I noticed was not set up for a Pap, but they have a blood withdrawal station ready), the Nurse Practitioner came in and sat down to talk and go over my paper work. The NP was cool, she did talk fast and went through my paper work fast as well. They weren't very busy so I was a little confused by that, but hey maybe that's just her ethic? As we were wrapping up our session, I asked if I was going to get a Pap Smear and she said that was not included in my visit. I told her that the lady at the front desk told me it was when I initially called to make the appointment. She said the Pap would cost me and extra $100, but said she would talk to the lady at the front desk to confirm. When she came back, she said that the Pap was under the Well Woman's exam (which is what I saw on their website and thought I paying for) and that she can do it but it would cost me and extra $100. At that point I felt a certain type of way about the situation and shined it on. After that the young woman came in to draw my blood; she was nice but was not wearing her face mask correctly and afterward my arm hurt pretty bad (she went too deep with the needle). Once upon a time I was an experienced Phlebotomist, so I know the procedures very well. But hey, I get that everyone has to start somewhere, so I was cool about it. After that I took a urine test and while trying to find the restroom an employee passed by with a stank look on her face, so I didn't bother ask her, however right after that a very nice young woman asked me if I needed help and then directed me to the restroom. After that I just wanted to wrap things up and get out of there. It appears to me that Hormone Replacement Therapy is their main focus and probably their money maker. They work directly with the Men's Testosterone center right next door, which is the same concept (my Fiance went there and he felt the same) and is fine but not quite what we are looking for in a provider. read more
