My brother and I got here about 1:00 and this place was packed, but we were seated promptly. Our orders were taken quickly, homemade chips and salsa were brought to our table and it was pretty good. I ordered the Gordita with pollo and I have to say it was really good. My brother had the enchilada plate with two beef and one cheese. I'm guessing they were pretty good because he cleaned his plate. The restaurant is very clean but it can be somewhat noisy when it's packed like it was for our visit. We ordered iced tea in to go cups and they kept our cups topped off, even offering to refill them as we were leaving. If the opportunity arose again I would have no qualms about eating here again. read more

The owner is actually present managing the place and everything runs smoothly. Place gets packed, which speaks for itself. The food was delicious and portions were big! someone is going around refilling coffee and drinks consistently. Staff were friendly, we are definitely going back. read more

This is probably the best mexican food i've ever had hands down. The salsa was the perfect level of spice and it paired well with the home made tortilla chips. the whole table absolutely loved their meal and couldn't stop talking about it between bites. we absolutely recommend the - crispy taco plate - chicken queso enchiladas - chicken chalupa AND GET AN ORDER OF THE FLOUR TORTILLAS WONT REGRET IT the prices are so reasonable as well will definitely be returning read more

Delicious gem. The salsa is to die for and so is the service. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area so we picked this one based on you yelpers. We started with choriqueso. Greasy hot and awesome. This is not a low fat diet restaurant, and I'm fine with that. For lunch I had the enchiladas which are on par with ones I have had in the past. No complaints. The chicken had a smokiness that I really appreciated. My mother had the beef fajitas and the homemade tortillas alone were enough to give this place a good review. Passing thru seguin and hunger got the best of us. Stopped in for some breakfast. The waitress right away got us our drinks. Food came out really fast and was hot and everything tasted really good. A few workers kept coming around asking if we need any drink refills, and asked how are food was or if we needed anything. Service was really really good and so was the food! Rediscovered El Charro. I'm tired of other Mexican restaurants' crazy prices for simple food. I'm not paying $9 for a quesadilla. Here I can have one ( one tortilla folded in half with lots of meat) and a bean and cheese chalupa for less than $5. Or a delicious chicken fajita taco salad for 8. This was really nice. Driving from San Antonio to Houston, we stopped along the road in Seguin, TX and found this. Looking through the local Yelp reviews, this one got pretty good ones. The restaurant is not elegant in any way. It was late when we arrived (around 8:30 PM) and only a few people were there. But, this actually worked in our favor. The service was outstanding and so was the food. I had beef enchiladas. There were three with a green sauce, refried beans, rice and tortillas. The food was very fresh and very tasty. Don't know if and when I'll be in Seguin again, but if I do end up there sometime, I'll stop in again. read more

Traveling through Texas and saw the good reviews on Yelp. We were ready to stop. Good place for a reasonable meal. They serve a good spicy salsa in a squeeze bottle with thick chips. I liked the squeeze bottle approach as we could apply generous amounts of this good salsa to our food. I ordered the green enchiladas. My wife and daughter ordered traditional enchiladas. My green enchiladas were great. My wife and daughter felt theirs were average. They tasted mine and agreed mine was the best Their refried beans are the real thing, surprisingly flavorful. They must stir in some bacon grease or something, delicious. They serve good homemade flour tortillas with each plate. The prices are quite reasonable for what you receive. Areas for improvement: hard to not see the food splatters on the large blinds right next to my shoulders, a little TLC is in order. Recommended. read more

So let down. I can't see how this place is rated so high. Maybe it just depends what you order. I ordered the beef fajitas and was highly disappointed with my selection. The fajitas were not tender at all. They were very chewy. Based on the consistent shape, it seems like they came out of a package. Regardless, they were not very hot once they made it to the table. I also ordered a side of sour cream. The sour cream came in a small travel packet. The tortillas were good, but that was all I enjoyed. I cannot ever see myself returning to this restaurant, but if I ever did, I would definitely order something different. read more

This place is packed!! Very good food and the staff is very attentive. Waitresses made sure we had what we needed and refilled drinks as soon as they saw our glasses empty. I have ordered to go from this place several times and each time the order is incorrect. I figured ok, they must be super busy or they just don't understand what is being said because they always seem to forget something that I pay for. They don't listen to what you are saying even when they are reminded there at the window. If you order to go check your order before leaving. I don't because I'm on my way to work and this is one thing I should not have to do in the mornings. Stay away if at all possible, maybe they'll listen better. read more

We decided to stop here on our way back to Houston. As San Antonio natives, we love breakfast tacos. Now, as a vegan, it is very hard to find tacos which don't have animal products in them. I asked about their flour tortillas and their potatoes, and was informed that both use vegetable oil/shortening, and are in fact vegan friendly. I also ordered chips and salsa, and poured the salsa on the tacos. Tacos were large, and had good flavor. Definitely pleased to be able to have an option, and one that was tasty at that. My husband is not vegan, and enjoyed their other breakfast tacos, as well. Would definitely stop in again, when we pass through. Convenient pick up window, too. read more

The red sauce has the best flavor to heat ratio I've had in a long time! Excellent meal options and very very affordable. A can't miss on our softball tourney tours of Texas. The place was very big inside and the menu was extensive. I asked the server what one of the sauces on a dish was like and she was nice enough to bring me out a sample. I ended up getting the enchiladas with the sauce and I'm really glad I did. My family enjoyed Garcia's and will be back. Don't let the outside fool you to thinking it's a small fast food restaurant because it's not. Highly recommend!

This location is off the beaten path about a mile from all the activity. It's in a small strip center and is an end spot so parking is rather easy. When we walked in, it kind of reminded me of their original location. It even has some of those covered booths, which is where we got to sit. They are better in this location as the tables are bigger and the sitting area is larger. The menu is a little different than what we are familiar with. Also, they have made my favorite order unavailable to make any substitutions. Our waitress was friendly but had some issues. She was able to get my wife's taco fixed (it came out with only lettuce and tomato), but she failed to bring us the sauce that she went on and on about. When we said something about it, she brought it out after we were done eating. My food was tasty, but it could have been hotter. Also, we like spicy food, but the queso was "HOT". We just needed extra drinks in order to handle the spiciness:) Will I return? Unfortunately not as my wife was really upset with the service and food.

This comes with pickled veggies and a red tomato salsa. They also bring out chips and salsa in the beginning for free. The food was okay, it needs more flavor. The papusa was bland but the texture was nice. The beef in the chalupa was good, the rest of it was okay. The salsa that came with chips and salsa was the best thing there. I would however, warn you that they overcharge you and they don't speak English. The papusa is 2.59 and they charged me 2.99. Also they charged me 6.99 for the chalupas when they only gave me two and it should have been 5.29. Very unfortunate that they do this to customers. Cheating is not nice.

We called in advance hoping to reserve a place for 12 people. They were very courteous and told us that they are a first come first seated kinda place, but they would do their best to accommodate. We got there and they did an awesome job getting us together. You should have seen the looks we were getting. Oh well. They sat us down, brought us chips and salsa. Took our drink order, then our food order. They did a wonderful job serving us, and everyone else around us. Very casual place.

We had out-of-town guests with a toddler on Saturday and it was coming up on nap time so instead of going into the restaurant to eat, for the first time, I did take out here.. Had that been my first experience with Casa Garcia, I would never go back again. My takeout order was a completely different experience. We had a traditional, Casa G salad with chicken fajita that had almost no chicken fajita on it. In the restaurant, this is probably a very nice salad because have what appeared to be a good selection of greens instead of iceberg lettuce. My son asked for Italian dressing, on web menu that is an option. The lady said oh we don't actually have that. So he selected cilantro lime. That cilantro lime tasted like tomatillo sauce. I don't know how they even offer that as dressing. His salad was a small bit of wilted greens with a few pieces of chicken, a thin, sliced tomato cut in half and what looked like someone took a big carrot the long way and shaved about three pieces off. It had a tiny piece of avocado slice. Before I opened anything else, my son said "never did I think that I would say there is a salad worse than chewy's takeout but we found it today". That is not a compliment because Chuys was the worst to go salad and we love to take out salad. The lettuce looked like stuff that I would throw away because it was so wilted. I expect that is because when you put a few pieces of hot food on it and close the lid, it steamed that lettuce. What a horrible thing to sell, they should take that off menu if they can't figure out how to fix it. I decided I would love a salad also so I had mine with beef fajita. I basically experience the same thing, cilantro lime would normally be my go to dressing but I hardly put any on there because it tasted like tomatillo and I don't like tomatillo. The beef fajita meat tasted weird and I would never order that again. For the toddler, she loves quesadilla so we were excited to see that as one of the kids options. II looked like they took a piece of Tortilla put a slice of cheese on it and then put a tortilla on top of it and nothing happened. It was dry and the Tortilla was hanging off the sides with nothing on it instead of it being exactly even and then cut. She loves french fries and ketchup. We probably got six or eight french fries, no ketchup and her other side was supposed to be refried beans. There were no refried beans and yet I paid for them and they were on the receipt. My husband got Menudo, figured it would be better than a soggy Chalupa and taco. He said that was some of the worst Menudo he has had. He said if we've never been there before we would never try it a second time. The lady that took my order asked would we like any tortillas with our order and I said yes. She said do you want corn, flour or some of both. I ask for some of both. No tortillas were in my order. Then I asked the lady since I had never done take out order, if they include chips and salsa like Chuys and other Mexican restaurants. She said "oh yes, would you like those"and I said yes please. I didn't mean were they included at $11.99, she didn't say that. I would've never paid $11.99 for a cup of salsa and a small brown lunch bag of chips out of a bag. I will never do a takeout order again and I wanted to figure out how I get a refund for the things that I did not receive. I sent a note to the corporate contact email on the website...NO RESPONSE I don't live close enough to drive back and ask them to fix it when I have a toddler who's ready to eat. I won't get food from here again and probably due to their lack of response, I won't go back and eat either.. New Braunfels has other good Mexican food.
