I lived in Italy for 2 years, and their dishes, both pasta and pizza, are the real deal. This restaurant is also great for people who need/choose to eat gluten-free or vegan/dairy-free. Many of both their pasta and pizzas can be made to accommodate these dietary needs (I eat gluten-free, so this is a huge plus for me). I ordered gluten-free Spagetti Carbonara, and it was one of the best I've ever had. Period. I can't yet comment on the gluten-free pizza, but planning on going back soon to try it. My mom and her husband had the Dolce Vita and Quattro Formaggio pizzas, which they also loved. I tried a small bite of the Quattro Formaggio, which was delicious. The restaurant definitely does a great job making their pizza in the traditional Italian style. Finally, for dessert, we had Panna Cotta with raspberry sauce and tiramisu, both to die for! I would highly, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine at a great price. Great atmosphere as well.

The restaurant has a very eclectic decor with little bits of Italian culture all over the walls from posters, pictures of famous people, to Italian soccer shorts. It has a very casual atmosphere and good eats vibe. The service was great. Our server was very friendly and had some good recommendations for us from wine to menu suggestions. The food was great and had awesome presentation that matched the taste! We had the vegan Caesar salad which was good and had a bit of a twist for me with added pomegranate and cranberry on the side of it. We also then split a primavera pizza which was really good but due to the toppings the bottom crust was a bit soggy which is to be expected. We then finished off with a vegan brownie which was delicious. All in all it was a great experience and meal. I definitely recommend the restaurant for the vegan looking for a taste of Italy in Stockholm.

The second night, we were successful! We ordered moose and "Nobel" meatballs, which are beef and reindeer and absolutely off the chain. But, the sauce service was hilarious. It's good, but not that good. No, really, when you look up Swedish meatballs in Stockholm,…read moreeverywhere will tell you to go to Meatballs For The People and that's fair. It's a fun spot with all different kinds of meatballs in a hip neighborhood. But I didn't find it to be the best of all the Swedish meatballs I devoured. This has been on my go-to list forever. So many people had recommended Meatballs For The People; thus, I added it to my list and found myself in Stockholm so the occasion arrived. I walked over to this restaurant and on a weekday, the line was out the door. Even then, there was a line and by the time I left close to 9pm, there was a line outside the door. It's that popular. And no, you can't make reservations. You just need to suck it up and wait. Despite the line out the door, it went by surprisingly quicker than I expected. I waited about 20 minutes during prime dinner hour. I can't imagine what it's like on a weekend. But I have a feeling that only tourists go here as most everyone in the restaurant seemed to be from elsewhere, including yours truly. I ordered the og, the Swedish meatballs made with pork and beef, which comes with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce. I also ordered a side of garlic bread to soak up the gravy and a lingonberry soda. When in Sweden. It didn't take too long to get the food, and it was good. I wished the gravy had been more abundant, which I always think is the best part, but it was a good dish. It's just not my favorite. What's cool about Meatballs For The People is that you can try different kinds of meats, including elk, deer, etc. for your meatballs. And if you don't want meatballs then good luck because that's really the only protein they serve. You don't have to get it with the traditional mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce plate though, they have meatballs with salad, meatballs with pasta, etc. Just get the meatballs though, obviously. In addition to food, they sell merch here and partner with a local brewery to make their own beer, which they sold out of during my visit, unfortunately. But do try if you're here. Overall, I'm glad to have crossed Meatballs For The People off my list.

Once they were open, it took a long time between us being given menus to finally getting our food- 50 minutes. They should've given us our side while we were waiting for the board. We ordered a side of salami and Swedish cheese and the hairy pig board. I enjoyed the side, but the board not so much. The board consisted of wild boar sausage with broche bun, wild boar taco, peppercorn fries, and wild boar lasagna. The board was quite heavy and salty. I didn't have enough stomach space to even try the taco. I did enjoy the fries, but it's not enough for me to want to return.

This place is tucked below street level and is very intimate and downright cozy with its low beam wood ceiling, wood tables in every cranny it can fit to accommodate guests, and a tiny little bar. You can find this place outside by the wooden sign with the boar on it, then simply peer down into the low window and if you see a hairy pig nomming on a sausage, congratulations! You're in the right place. We stopped in not long before closing time and that was probably the only reason we were able to get a much coveted table. The barkeep was nice and let us put in a quick order while also getting us drinks. Unfortunately for me, there were not very many gluten free tapa options on the menu, but there were a few naturally gf. The salami and sausages were thought to have gluten so I went with the smoked shell on shrimp, a cheese dip, and some salad with olives. I wasn't crazy about the smoked shrimp but the olives and cheese were good. The husband enjoyed a sausage in bun which he said was great. Overall we liked the vibe and I think if you can eat the locally sourced meats like my husband it's probably a pretty solid place. If you're gf or allergy you'll probably still be hungry at the end of the meal like I was.

I had the Dirty Chick'n burger but since I have an allergy to raw carrots I changed the slaw to pickled onions on their recommendation. We also shared some popcorn chick'n at the table, both with sriracha mayo. It wasn't too spicy and both were very tasty. I will say I have had better vegan "meat" but the sauces, textures, bun, etc etc was very delicious and gave that perfect junk food hit. My friends had the buffalo wings and mac'n'cheez, both also very tasty although the buffalo wings with the ranch was the bigger hit. We also had the sweet potato fries, they were small and very crispy, I loved them. The interior wasn't that great, but not bad either, the toilet could certainly be better lit (it was so dark I couldn't tell if the black toilet was open or closed) and they didn't really have many seats in the sun outside but there were good seats in the shade. All in all, if you're vegan and want some tasty junk food, I recommend this place ^^ I'm surely going back (and I'm not even vegan but sometimes you want that junk food taste but not the pimples and heaviness that comes with dairy and meat)

That fish stew was hearty and delicious. They also serve organic beers here and I had a Stockholm Organic Lager, which tasted like a German Pilsner. It's not a huge place, and when we got there, the tables at ground level were full. They have outside seating, but seeing how this was early January, we didn't want to eat outside, even though it is covered (but still a bit open). They have these "stadium-style" seats with little tables, though, and we climbed up there. They have everything partially made, and when you order, they put it together. There were only two people I could see handling it, but service was great. Some of the best food I ate all trip.

The best thing on the menu is their barbecue jackfruit, a tender, lucious flavor you won't believe is made of plants. It goes perfectly with their sweet potato fries, the thin, perfectly spiced morsels that strike the balance between crispiness and still tasting true to their status as a vegetable. The udon broth bowl was complex and comforting, with tender mushrooms, kimchi that was flavorful without being overly sour, and the kind of rich broth that's impossible to replicate at home. Don't miss the burrito either, or the multiple sauces that can transform any of the dishes. Lastly, the service was great. The staff was so helpful in translating the menu for us and answering any questions, and getting us everything we needed to have a wholly satisfying experience. It's also very reasonably priced for the amount of food and quality that you get. My only complaint is that I wish they had a menu that didn't move. Made the ordering process a little difficult. But it's made easier by knowing you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
