    Schwedish meat balls
    Niro W.

Found this spot in the old town neighborhood of stockholm. My goal before I decided to visit Stockholm was to eat some Swedish meatballs ( as you can predict, I go to Ikea a lot for the furnitures but most importantly the food lol). I love the old town neighborhood. They have lots of options when it comes to restaurants, cafes or souvenir stores. I had a hard time finding a spot where they were serving meat balls before I came across this place. As you can see in the pictures, the meatballs are served with some sauce, potatoes and the pink stuff ( not sure what it's called). The food was amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better spot to have Swedish meatballs. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating option. The food is little pricy, but I think thats just anywhere in Stockholm.

Great place to dine for lunch. Prices for meals are reasonable. I had the meatballs and potatoes. All guests are able to go up to the small salad bar, where there is bread, cold pasta, and salad. Sit outside and enjoy their outer patio!

Very nice people and very good, inexpensive dinner. Located on a busy pedestrian street so you can do plenty of people watching while you eat. The stuffed baked potato was delicious and the pasta basically melted in your mouth. Casual cafe- you order inside at the counter and they bring it out to your table.

Great spot to come in for free wifi right in old town. No iced coffee, as swedes don't truly have, but their "islatee" or iced late is damn good. The owners and employees speak English and are friendly. Chill place to post up and take in the touristy passerbyers.

Swedish meatballs, with whole potatoes instead of mashed. Good meal.

If you're looking for a cheap but tasty lunch then this place is perfect. I ordered the Swedish meatballs and my wife ordered a focaccia panini sandwich. Both were good and served quickly. The staff is kind and helpful and the atmosphere is laid back.

Friendly service and reasonable priced food for Gamla Stan. Comfy chairs and free wifi are a plus.

As I am a tourist, I got that crazy milkshake with a cinnamon bun on top of it just for good measure of course. The cinnamon buns in Sweden are obviously exceptional as they originated from there- crunchy on the outside and warm, melted, soft cinnamon goodness on the inside. The waffles are delicious as well, regardless of which waffle you get. All in all, this is a great place to go to if you're visiting Stockholm!

I'm not sure what Swedish waffles and 1950s diners have in common, but this place makes it work for sure. We came in on a Sunday morning, and were able to get seated right away. My cousin and I both had the raspberry waffle with whipped cream (75 sek, approx $8USD.). The waffle was perfectly crispy and the jam was delicious, but it wasn't a particularly filling for the price, really just a treat. They had fancier offerings as well, for a bit more money, as well as savory combinations. I overheard from a neighboring table that you can order a waffle with both whipped cream and ice cream. Where was this information when I was ordering? Oh well, next time. I would visit Älskade Traditioner again, but perhaps only for dessert. Alternatively I may try one of their savory options for a full meal.

Everything you'd need for the perfect meal out! They do not accept reservations and we went on a Sunday evening around 8:30 pm. We waited about 30 minutes, but boy was it worth it! We were seated at a cute little corner table that had pads on the benches, right next to a window to see the street. Lighting was dim and cozy. Service was the best I've had in recent memory. Our waitress was peppy despite having to deal with a long line and probably a long day. She was friendly, attentive, and so cheerful! 100/10. We started with the reindeer salad since my bf had never had reindeer before. While the reindeer seemed less cooked than expected, by the end he really liked the mix of flavors and thought it paired well with the salad. We both got the Swedish meatballs for our entrees and loved them! We both loved the pickled cucumbers and lingonberries. The lingonberries pair so well with the meat! While there are only 3 meatballs, they were so huge neither of us could finish all of them. Especially because I wanted to save room for dessert: the sponge cake! While it didn't look like much on presentation, it was surprisingly moist and the cream and berries were absolutely delicious. My bf said he was only going to have one bite (he's not a big dessert guy) but instead ended up eating half! Highly recommend! Overall would come back again just for the vibes, service, dessert, and to probably try another entree, which I'm sure would be good as well! If you don't know where to eat and want a memorable night out, come here!!
