Ok. So I tried this bakery again and was even more disappointed. I went myself and not only did the place seem dirty but the cupcakes I got were stale and the chocolate had a white haze over it like when it's old. It was 5:15 on a monday, Dinner was at 6:30 but when you're in your mid 20's with no kids you have full reign to decide if you want to go buy 3 boxes of cookies and 2 cupcakes from a bakery. That's what we did. Hermitage Bakery popped up on Yelp and we headed out. we purchased 2 vanilla cupcakes which satisfied our sweet craving as we ate them in a the parking lot like 5 year olds. But the cookies we bought, Snickernoodle (tasted lemony :/ ) , chocolate chip (dry) and peanut butter (meh), left us wanting some thing more and our cravings not fulfilled. I've tried multiple items in this bakery. Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment. I really WANT this local bakery to be good, but its not. Everything has a chemical aftertaste, like the products from the cheapest of grocery stores. And the fact that their roadside sign is constantly advertising hillbilly wine glasses is just sad and tacky. read more

This place is super yummy and bad for you. The bonbons are stacked to the ceiling and have sooo much going on in them. The regular bonbon tastes just like a hostess cupcake, but with that homemade twang, and twice the size. I recently tried the caramel bonbon during my last visit, and it's not for those faint of heart. This thing is rich. It's a chocolate cupcake with a huge dollop of caramel icing then dipped in chocolate and drizzled with more caramel. Holy crap it was good. It was worth all those extra sit ups. Kind of. read more

I have been passing this place for a year now and had never gone in. One night I asked The Hub to bring home something sweet and good, he stopped here. Got the caramel brownies, I didn't love them. I wanted them to be more reminiscent of a turtle but in brownie form. It had a caramel icing. I gave them a second chance though. I got a few cupcakes and my husband against my orders picked up chess squares. Well the chess squares were delicious, as were the cupcakes. I favored the yellow with white butter-creme icing and the carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I repeat, the chess squares were delicious. read more

We have bought several cakes from Hermitage Bakery, Birthday, first holy communion, and finally my Daughters Graduation cake. They have done and excellent job on all of our cakes and even took the time to listen to my daughter and make a custom cake for her. The cakes are always moist and taste wonderful. We are new customers and have been very please with the service and quality of items. We first ordered two cakes for our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and have been returning ever since. The strawberry cake is amazing, We have ordered several cakes from them and all of them have been fresh and designed just the way we asked. The items in the store front are very tasty and have a good selection to choose from. I have been back several times for cakes to share at work for Birthdays and Retirement celebrations. I get all of my little boys birthday cakes here and everyone always loves them. Last week I gave a baby shower and they made a great cake with strawberry filling inside and it was wonderful...easy too since it was pre-cut and easy to serve. They have cherry crunch bars that I am addicted to! Also wonderful seasonal cookies decorated so cute...I stop by and let my 7 year old pick out a cookie as a treat. The women that run the bakery are very nice...I've never had a problem here and am a happy customer! read more

I had a very important baby shower that I was hosting a couple of months ago. The mom - to - be had previously had some complications which resulted in her loosing two babies, both at 8 months. It was heart breaking. This baby shower was so incredibly important as this baby had surpassed it's sisters and was 9 months along. We had reason to seriously celebrate. As I put the shower together I put so much thought into every detail wanting to make this a grand and positive memory though knowing that with every party there is always that one thing thing that is forgotten. So, day of the shower, 2 hrs before the guests arrive, on a sunday, and it occurs to me, I forgot to order the cupcakes! I found myself at hermitage bakery after a couple of other attempts. The staff was so nice. They were 10 minutes from closing and when I explained the situation they were so helpful and went out of their way by staying over and icing 30 cupcakes for me. I thought this was so sweet but then when they showed me the cupcakes I realized they had even taken the time to add little icing booties and laces to each one so that it would seem that I had planned it all along. They really went above and beyond and the cupcakes tasted fantastic. Hermitage bakery definitely has business from now on! read more

We had our wedding November 3rd. We recieved price quotes from about 8 or 9 different bakeries. All of them ran about the same price. Then someone recommended Hermitage Bakery. Their price for both the wedding cake and groomscake AND delivery was way less than what all the others were wanting for the wedding cake alone. They did exactly what I wanted with both cakes, and they looked and tasted amazing. Our caterer even asked where we got them, because he said they were so delicious and easy for them to cut for guests. I will get any cake here from now on! read more

Today I picked up a birthday cake for my daughters birthday. It was quite possibly the sorriest excuse of a custom birthday cake I have ever ordered from Hermitage Bakery. I have done business with them for years and today will be the last time I ever step foot in this establishment. The last several times I have ordered from them I have gotten a phone call a hour before scheduled pick up time to say that they needed to push back my pick up time due to the amount of orders they had for the day. This should not be the customer's problem. It seems to me that they need to better organize their workload. My biggest gripe of the cake I ordered today was it looked like something my 3 year old would have created. A big huge mess! What we ordered was a pink camouflage cake. What we got was a cake with a bunch of blobs of smeared pink icing. Long review shortened... My daughter was disappointed. I was disappointed. We won't order again because Hermitage Bakery is not what it used to be. Seems as though money and amount of orders are more important than quality and customer service. read more
