So I came to see my sister for Easter to find that her and her neighbors grave was. I've fed in dirt, mind you she has been here since 2014 and her neighbor longer than that. I came to see her and her tombstone was covered in dirt to where at first I couldn't even find her plot. Luckily I knew where the plot was located or else I wouldn't have seen it. It's very sad and disturbing to go see a loved one and see that they are not taking care of the property or tombstones that we put so much money and tears into. Do better !! Not worth a dime that was spend to bury my sister here and I wish we had the opportunity to visit her elsewhere. There has been multiple times where it's just been dirty and it's unacceptable. On top of this I couldn't even put her flowers because there was so much dirt covering it. On February 26, 2022 My family had arranged to have a memorial service at Hermosa Gardens in Colton, CA. We made the arrangements to book the chapel at this cemetery. We booked the chapel through the cemetery's main office in Upland, CA well in advance to insure we had the chapel on the available date. My family and I made all the family notifications at to when the services would be held. Family members would be arriving from out of town, luncheon reservations were also made. The services would be held at 9 a.m. on the 26th. All was set or at least we thought they were. A week and a half prior to the services, my family received a call from the memorial counselor that there was a service already booked for the time we had previously booked. I had asked why wasn't this verified at the time we had booked the chapel. The counselor offered no explanation or apology. We had to change the time of the service but remained on the same day. My family also made arrangements to have flowers sent for my Mom's service. The florist we used could not guarantee delivery to the cemetery on the day of service. I had the florist deliver the flowers the day before on Friday. I had also advise the cemetery staff of the flower situation. On the day of the service we arrived at the cemetery. The other funeral service was still going on in the cemetery. My sisters and I entered the chapel to find that our flowers were nowhere to be found. I asked our director to check the office to see if they were still in the office. They were not. I also asked could they have been given to the service that is still on premise. He checked with the director handling that service. The flowers were not there. Our director contacted a member of the office staff to find out what had happened to our flower spray. Confirmation of the flowers could not be determined. I contacted the florist and asked for proof that the arrangement had been delivered. The florist sent me the proof with the name of the employee who received the arrangement. They in fact had been delivered and signed for my a "Frank" at 10:45 a.m. on Friday. It turns out that the flowers were given to a service that occurred on Friday, 2/25/22. The flowers were plainly marked for my Mom's service on 2/26/22 the date of service. I contacted the cemetery on Monday, 2/28/22. I asked for a reimbursement for the flowers since their staff had made the error. After numerous calls and emails I have not been reimbursed for their mistake. These flowers were a good expense for our family. There has been no apology nor has there been any reimbursement to date (5/5/22). I have supplied the cemetery with all the documentation with no response. They are truly at fault for this lack of good customer service. read more

And the nite mare continues thanks to "Hermosa Garden Cemetery " Yesterday we had my fathers service at Preciado funeral home and the burial was set for 1 PM today, but upon arrival at Hermosa Garden cemetery along with countless family members and friends we were informed that the site had not been opened, the work order was not given to the ground crew so nothing was done. No representative from the Hermosa Gardens office wanted to speak with any family member, we only had communication with the ground staff, who informed us that we had to postpone burial until tomorrow afternoon so they could prepare the site. Meanwhile everyone who was attending the burial was confused how could such a thing happen, many had asked their employers for the time off, some came from far away just to be present at the burial. And my 90 year old mother the night before seeing her husband laying there, weeping at the service and being comforted by her love ones, knowing that her husband would finally be laid to rest the fallowing day,, but No thanks to the incompetent service today , she'll have to go through this anguish again tomorrow, not only did she lose her husband two weeks ago but her grandson days later, and now this.. In all my 68 years of life I've never seen or heard of anything like this happening, I am baffled by the entire event to watch the hurst and my fathers gasket taking back to Preciado Funeral home because someone dropped the ball. I'm so drained and tired from this roller coaster of emotions, and to add this on top shame on them, there definitely has to be some kind of accountability for what happened today, I was hoping to have closure and my father would have rest but that is not the case we , my poor mother has to go through this one more time, Lord help us get through this, Father give us strength so we can get through this. I don't blame the ground crew, they only do what they're told to do, but to take responsibility and hear the complaints from people, for what office personnel where supposed to have done, that's wrong. It was a good day yesterday at the Cemetery where I gained enough courage to go to see my dad who passed from covid from which I gave him.....it was a circus... kids running around(lots of kids) there was a taco vendor inside the cemetery and to top it off they where onto of my dad's stone..stones. how do you think it makes me fell seeing that??? I had to leave before I probably would have gotten arrested for assault. Not only that huge cart sitting on the stones but 15 or more folding chairs . Like there doing a buriel.. On September 25th, 2013 my Grandma Hardin passed away. My Grandfather, James Wesley was previously buried at Hermosa Cemetery in 1976 and we were set to inter my Grandmother with him. Prior to my Grandmother passing I visited Hermosa to find the grave location as I had never been there before. The gentleman at the front desk (I wish I could remember his name) was very helpful. He made the process quick and easy. It took me less than 5 minutes to get the plot location from him, have a map drawn out, and walk to the gravesite. As my Grandmother began to decline more, my family and I decided to start getting pricing information. I emailed Hermosa for information and by the end of the day had a return email with my Grandmother's specific plot number, headstone specifications, how much it would cost to open and close the grave, as well as prices for a vault. On the day of the service, the same gentleman that had previously helped me when I was searching for the grave was there to help again. They accidentally spelt my Grandmother's name wrong on the marquee but worked quickly to have it fixed before any guests arrived. Besides requesting the marquee change, everything we needed (table, pen, chairs, dirt) was already in place by the time we arrived. Some cemeteries only give you a limited amount of time at the grave, but the grounds crew at Hermosa told us to take as much time as we needed. My family never felt rushed. After watching my Grandmother's health decline drastically over the past 2 years it was nice to be able to bury her quickly and easily. read more

Hermosa Gardens is a well known cemetery to many . It's a place where i go and visit my loved ones filled with joy and peace. Going through these reviews I feel for the emotions families had to go through and it's understandable. I believe Hermosa let alone the staff has undergone many problems with previous management but the staff there now are great , great improvement is showing within , and I have noticed many great changes . We as families should play in our part showing respect to the rules that standby the cemetery and the city to show that we also as a community care for the well being of the cemetery for our loved ones remembrance. I have seen many times sidewalks being tagged and stopped to see that the staff were trying there best to clean it up , our porta potties being broken and tagged when a sign was posted continuously asking us kindly not do so . Let me tell u about my experience with Hermosa cemetery...I had an appointment to set up my mom's service and I was there for five hours. the day of the event I was told I could come in a hour and a half early, so I showed up a hour early doors were locked nothing was ready, guests started to show up once they opened the door. When I say nothing was ready I mean nothing was ready. My mom washed even in the building for the viewing they brought her in late. They didn't even have the sign-in book or the obituary pamphlets for the guest. The ac wasn't turned on until guest were there. Flowers were not even ordered until the day of the event which made them late. That's not even the worst of it all the worst of it all was my mom was put in the wrong casket which comes to find out that the casket belong to the cousin of the owners which is unacceptable. read more

Alina is the manager and she lacks empathy, compassion, and customer service skills. Shes in the wrong business. The staff and the unpreparedness of Hermosa Gardens is unacceptable. On September 9, 2021 we buried our mom at Hermosa Cemetery in Colton. I have never cared for that cemetery because of the unkept grounds, such as beers cans and bottles on the premises. The uncut lawn, people stealing flowers and decorations from your love ones' headstones, etc. Nevertheless, there is where my father was buried several years ago and my mother's wish was to be buried with my father. Therefore, we carried out our mom's wishes. In my first meeting I met with Carmen. Carmen was so kind and understanding. She genuinely cared for our loss. I would call her, text her and go into the office to speak with her and she never made me feel as if I was a bother to her. She was always sympathetic and encouraging. She help me make so many decisions wisely and I will always appreciate all her help. Carmen always had consideration for my feelings in this time of great loss. I felt I could rely on her and I did. Which gave me comfort and peace during this time. Carmen is someone I would highly recommend. I will always be thankful to our Lord for her. Carmen is an amazing young woman. She is very knowledgeable, professional and kindhearted. Then I met with Jesse. He is the Funeral Coordinator. Jesse is a remarkable young man with a wonderful spirit and personality. He was kind and understanding through the whole process. Jesse was very informative and his assistance was unmeasureable. Jesse was very knowledgeable and this was very helpful for me. I will never forget all he did for my family and I. Jesse was by my side every step of the way. He answered every question and concern I had. He is a great asset to this company. God bless him for his dedication to his work and for those in mourning. ***Unfortunately, there was one BIG PROBLEM! The person that did the makeup, hair, etc., on my mom. This person needs to go back into training and graduation with at least a passing grade, before they let she/he do any type of work on your deceased love one. My mom looked nothing like herself. They put very, very dark makeup on her. They put pink lipstick, which she never wore. She didn't like the color pink. They comb her hair flat down and to the wrong side.They made her eyebrows in a straight line. Not her natural eyebrow curve that she had. I gave them a picture of my mom, her lipstick and nail polish as they had requested. But, I guess this person threw away the picture and made their own decisions how she was suppose to look like. Needless to say, we were very upset with this presentation. Though both, Carmen and Jesse, were very apologetic for this horrible reveal, it was too late to correct the damage done. They were genuinely sorry for the horrible job someone had done on my mom. I strongly recommend that they hire someone with professional experience!! It was a shocking experience to us all. No one should go through this ordeal. Despite the way this person made my mom look, my mother's funeral service went beautifully because of Carmen and Jesse. I will always be grateful to them. They are two exceptional individuals that deserve recognition for their outstanding work. And I hope they receive it from their employer. As for my family and I, we will always be extremely grateful to them. And because of these two remarkable people, I gave a 4 star rating. Thank you Carmen and Jesse. God bless you both. read more

I admit I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews but my father had prearrangements with the cemetery from years ago so I went ahead and did his mortuary with them as well. I met with both Carmen and Aleana as soon as I walked in it was obvious how busy this office is phones were ringing off the hook and a lobby full of people. They took us into the arrangement room and had us start paperwork both lady's were very nice and helpful and made a stressful and sad situation a lot more manageable. They answered all my questions and let me know up front that things are moving quite a bit slower then normal. We kept in touch throughout the process via email since it Was hard to get ahold of someone on the phone. And my fathers service went smooth with no problems. Overall I was happy with my experience with Inland Memorial and Hermosa Gardens the prices were very reasonable and the staff did a great job especially considering the high stress environment they are working in currently with covid. read more

The only reason I give a second star is because Carmen has been very polite and nice when with us. That said, we are currently looking to have my dad buried here per his wishes to be near my grandma and many cousins. First meeting-they we're 30 minutes late. It happens, one time thing is disappointing but not a deal breaker. Sign says everyone needs to wear masks. Ok, we're good with that, but that apparently is optional for employees. We were "greeted" by a little girl in flip flops asking us to make sure we close the door and a gentleman in and out in his shorts and tee-shirt, no masks. I'm guessing they were family members of employees? 30 minutes later we were taken back. Again, Carmen was very helpful and nice with us. Unfortunately, there had been a lack of communication on my dad's part prior to passing. He didn't have anything preset with Hermosa, it was with another funeral home. So, we went there a few days later-Preciado Funeral Services, huge difference in professionalism, and then determined that we would follow up with Hermosa for the plot. Second appt-9am, called the number up front to announce our arrival and was told someone would be right with us. 35 minutes later, I called again. This time Carmen answered and sounded surprised that we were up front. Alina was supposed to do a search of lot 7 and let us know what was available for my dad. Several minutes went by and then Carmen appeared. She started by letting us know that she didn't have the plot search done by Alina, that Alina hadn't been feeling well. We did see Alina a couple times as she took back other people, but I guess she didn't realize who we were or what we needed. As Carmen tried to find some reasons/excuses for their failure to get the search done, I was more focused on the complete disregard for our time. We made the appt yesterday. If there was a problem, knowing that we had an early appt, couldn't they have let us know to reschedule? My wife left work, and I pushed back work to be there. On top of that, it took 45 minutes to let us know that there was nothing for us to actually do today! How much longer would it have taken if I hadn't called again, 35 minutes after our appt time? Did I mention they have a camera? You have two people in the waiting room for more than half an hour, and it took a second call from me to get some attention!? One bad day can happen to any of us, I understand that. Two separate days of serious disregard for our time, while we're also trying to get through the difficulties with grieving, is more like a lack of professionalism and caring. I'll be updating this as we go, but so far so not good. read more

A family friend recently passed and this place is trying to take advantage of them by trying to scam them into REPAYING for the ground to be dig up even though it was paid in a package over 20 years ago . My sister was buried here in July 2017 and we have had the worst experience ever with this cemetery. People have been stealing our solar lights and flowers that we put to decorate, exactly 3 times. A man that has his wife buried next to my deceased sister has already complained to the office (they stole his stuff too) and they told him they can't do anything about it. We paid so much for my sister to have a clean and beautiful tombstone, but this cemetery just doesn't seem to care about anything but money. After the passing of our infant daughter, my husband and I had the difficult task of locating a cemetery. Our first stop was Our Lady Queen of Peace/Montecito in Loma Linda. When we walked in, we were "greeted" by a very grouchy woman at the front desk while depressing organ music played. We were shown around the cemetery and were pressed by the sales person to buy a teddy bear urn over and over again even though I was not a bit interested in it. We left feeling icky about the whole situation and felt that if they had used cars for sale in the front, it would have not surprised us. Our next stop was Hermosa Gardens. What a lovely place! In the middle of the saddest time of our lives, we were met with kindness and gentleness, not pushy salespeople. We had initially planned on cremating our little one but a few days before it was done, we changed our minds. Our request was easily changed without hassle. The day of our girl's service went smoothly. We had a funeral mass for her in Ontario and then we traveled to the cemetery for her internment. It all happened very smoothly and worry-free. I continue to be impressed with the staff. They are always so helpful and answer any questions I have without hesitation or without making me feel rushed. Planning a funeral for a loved one is not easy. The staff here is wonderful and helpful, making this awful time just a little easier. Their prices are reasonable and they do not try to squeeze every last penny out of you just because they can, unlike the previously mentioned cemetery. read more

I was a caregiver for a 92 year-old woman, whose husband was buried in Hermosa in 1976. When she turned 90 she decided to set up her funeral so her distant relatives would have no worries about it. We used their in-house mortuary, and arranged a burial in the grave she already owned, next to her husband. Everything went according to plan with only two minor issues. We informed the cemetery that her relatives wanted her husband's grave marker removed and saved, and the new double marker would be placed, after approving the format for the new marker and making a minor correction, I gave the go ahead. They said it would be ordered and place within 30 days. About two months later I checked, and no marker, so I asked in the office what the status was, and they said it was still awaiting my approval. I explained I had approved it a month after the death, in October, and that they should have ordered it. I re-approved it. The marker finally arrived and was installed 7 months after the death. The other issue was I had ordered extra death certificates and paid for them, but only received five copies when I had ordered 6. There were errors on the certificates, and I asked for them to be corrected, they never were, and I never received he other copy I had paid for. I frequently visit the cemetery and take photos for people who can not visit. The staff is always courteous and helpful, but the record keeping seems to be confusing. They are still using index cards and not computers. Just today they could not find records of two burial I had come to photograph, they told me I would have to leave the information and come back some other day to see if the burial locations could be found. I still rate this cemetery as a solid 4 star, there are places with MUCH worse service. read more

In 2007 my mom passed away. For the past nine years dad an I visited her regularly taking flowers an sitting an visiting her. My dad had to move in with me during the last part of 2015. At age 94 he passed away on February 13, 2016. We held his funeral in February. A few months went by an I called the cemetery to find out why his headstone has not been engraved with his passing date the lady informed me that the gentleman that died the engraving for them waits until he gets a few then he will come down an do the engraving, ok I get that. But really people we are now near the eighth month and his passing date has still not been added! Who manages this place an where do you contact to file your complaints????? read more

My parents had arranged both their services which made everything simple when they passed. Their services were both here and at Riverside National Cemetery (my father served in the Army). He passed a few years ago and both his services went fine. My mother just recently passed and it did not go nearly as well. The initial meeting with Eva went ok, but she was unable to reach RNC that day. A couple days later she called my sister, she'd reached RNC and a day was picked, Wednesday, 01-17-18, but the times didn't seem good to my sister so she asked me to call myself to work those out. I called, spoke with Eva myself, confirmed the day and chose the best times based on what RNC had available; start time at Hermosa at 11:30, start time at RNC, 1:30. I wrote all this down, immediately posted on FB to let my family know. Well, this was on a Thursday the week before so we began to get things ready for the get-together dinner. When the 17th came, we found out the date she set it for was on the 24th!!! I called her and I admit, I was infuriated, but she was smug and useless. My family, some from out of state, many from an hour away, were already at Hermosa. Again, in person, she was horrible, denied she'd made a mistake. I ended up dealing with the owner's assistant, Jennifer, who was so kind and understanding and worked us in at 3:00 that same day, but we still have to go back to RNC next week to finish up. I DO NOT recommend this place and hope I never, ever had to deal with them again, worst experience in my life. read more

We had our brothers funeral service in the Hermosa Chapel where we were greeted by their coordinator Peter. He was so relaxing and helpful especially at such a difficult time, available at all times to work with us if need. The chapel, perfect for what we needed, clean and simple exactly like the picture. At the end of the service, Peter came and asked permission to speak (unbeknownst to us he had read the flyer of our brother who was a special needs person), he showed such respect and dignity for him, words could not express how much that meant to our family.
