Then, when the time comes and your loved one passes, the services you believed were secured are suddenly no longer available -- and according to them, "the money is lost." They had no problem keeping the money. My elderly mother was taken advantage of, and due to their own mistake -- sending important information to the wrong person -- our family is now left dealing with the consequences. Instead of taking accountability and doing what is right, they refuse to correct the issue. The Diocese of San Bernardino and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery may have plenty of money, but unfortunately compassion and integrity seem to come second to greed. It is heartbreaking to experience this, especially from an organization that represents itself as Catholic. I am sharing this so other families can be aware and hopefully avoid going through the same pain and frustration our family has experienced. Families deserve honesty, transparency, and respect during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

It was clean and brightly lit with natural lighting. It smelled nice too and they had set up plenty of seats for guests. I provided the music for the Mass and the sound system was great for the space. Note: You'd have to bring your own instrument (keyboard, in this case) but they provided the microphones. And there were enough outlets. The grounds during the internment were neat and well-maintained. It was an easy walk from the mausoleum to the burial site, too. Overall, beautiful space for a funeral Mass and burial site. Would be nice if they had their own piano or keyboard on site.

It's well kept and quiet, which I can appreciate. It's actually located pretty close to homes in a residential area. Since it's small... I may consider buying myself a good spot to rot away in here. I hate overcrowding and this applies in the afterlife as well.

Fast forward to 2025, when we sadly lost my grandmother, and they once again provided the same level of compassionate, professional support. Natalie did a phenomenal job on both occasions. She was patient, attentive, and truly empathetic guiding us through every detail without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. She listened to our wishes, helped personalize the services to honor our loved ones perfectly, and offered genuine comfort when we needed it most. Her warmth and professionalism made an incredibly hard process feel supported and respectful. The entire team at the chapel is outstanding: the facility is peaceful and well-maintained, everything was handled efficiently and transparently (no surprises with costs or arrangements), and they truly treat families like their own. This mortuary is honest and sincere. Recently lost my step son. Community Mortuary was recommended to us through our local church. They were fairly quick with extracting his body. The mortuary was closed when we called and they have a very efficient answering service. The answering service and the contracted transportation team were professional. We received a call the following day from Deborah. She let us know there was no rush to meet with her due to our grief, but that she was already on top of the case. Deborah communicated with the doctor's office. The doctor's office told me that the mortuary did not fax the paperwork for cause of death. Deborah quickly informed me that she had two fax confirmations and then miraculously the doctor's office found the request. Thank goodness Deborah was efficient and organized. She documented everything very well and was very punctual. Deborah is well spoken, but down to earth. This career must be challenging and I could not see a better person doing this job. Deborah listened to our request reference holding off on embalming. When we met in person with her, she was punctual and had conference room ready to go. I watched her disinfect the table before we sat down. She was very patience during the in-person meeting and helpful with special request. She did not rush us during our time of grief. Most importantly, I felt their prices were very fair. Deborah did not try to push any unneeded services or try to upsell us. Due to the pandemic, I have heard several horror stories. Community Mortuary prices were well below what any of our acquaintances paid for services for their loss of loved ones. Living in Redlands, I was hesitant to use a mortuary in San Bernardino. I was shocked at the VIP feeling of service received. Customer Service was excellent. Living in Fontana, there aren't too many options in terms of finding a place to put something like a funeral together quickly and hassle-free. The only place, that was also highly reputable, was Dickey Mortuary. My cousins went and met Family Services representative, Yara Alvarado, to make the arrangements. Although arrangements were made and executed, the process in doing so was so disorganized. Throughout the entire meeting between my cousins and Yara, Yara was answering calls and walking in and out of her office in the middle of discussions. According to them, it felt as if their business could stay or go, it made no difference to her. On the day of the service for my aunt, these people weren't attentive or accommodating. This last bit however was the final straw: Yara sent my cousin a TEXT MESSAGE, not a phone call from her office or anything officious, to let my cousin know that my aunt's death certificate was ready and to come to the mortuary to pick it up. My cousin informed her, Yara, as to when she would be there to pick it up and Yara sent a reply that said she was in accordance with the time. Upon arriving at the mortuary, my cousin is met by the custodian, and it was the custodian who had the certificate for her. WHAT!? Not to say anything against the custodian, but Yara couldn't give my cousin THE LEGAL DOCUMENT finalizing the ordeal of losing my aunt herself!? It seems that Dickey and Co. didn't actually care about most of what we are dealing with, which is funny, because this is their business! Handling people who are experiencing loss with care and professionalism is supposed to be their expertise. Oh, and instead of apologizing and explaining herself, Yara instead said that my cousin was wrong to feel offended because she (my cousin) was the one who misunderstood.
