My care at Glen Park Chiropractic with Dr. Sokolsky has been outstanding…read more My initial consult was a breeze to coordinate - I heard back from Dr. Sokolsky within a day and was seen in clinic in the same week. I remain impressed with Dr. Sokolsky's exemplary communication and scheduling flexibility even now after several months of maintenance care at the practice. Dr. Sokolsky's use of the "Activator Method" was new to me when I came to the practice. It is gentle and subtle - a relief to me, as I'm leery of the twists and cracks that often come with many chiropractic approaches. Above all - I FEEL great. I've suffered back pain and stiffness for many years prior to my now routine care with Dr. Sokolsky. Now - I wake up loose and pain free. I move more easily/freely and with less worry that I am one wrong move away from a setback. I really encourage anyone reading this who suffers from back/spine issues to reach out for help - you're in the right place here and in absolute EXPERT hands with Dr. Sokolsky!

I'm genuinely thrilled to write this review and recommendation for Dr. Arroyo. He is not only an…read moreoutstanding chiropractor, but an even more exceptional human being. After suffering from chronic hip and back pain following a car accident, my lawyer recommended that I see Dr. Arroyo--and I'm so grateful they did. From the very first visit, his approach was incredibly gentle, thoughtful, and effective. I felt immediate relief and a real sense of being brought back into alignment, both physically and energetically. I continued treatment with him for some time and always felt I was in the best hands. Years later--nearly a decade, in fact--our paths crossed again by pure coincidence. After recently moving back to San Francisco, I took a spin class and quickly realized I needed chiropractic care. I reached out to a few places, and when Dr. Arroyo personally called me back, I instantly recognized his warm, welcoming voice. It felt like a full-circle moment, and I knew it was meant to be. I've now been seeing Dr. Arroyo again for just under a year, and I couldn't be happier to be back under his care. Truly, just seeing him brightens my day--the adjustment is simply the bonus. What sets Dr. Arroyo apart is his attentiveness and genuine care. He listens deeply, treats you as a whole person, and brings a level of presence that is rare to find. His bedside manner is exceptional, and it's clear he truly loves what he does. His knowledge of the human body is profound, and his skill is unmatched. I am deeply grateful for his expertise and the care he continues to provide. If you're looking for someone who is not only highly skilled but also deeply compassionate, Dr. Arroyo is truly one of a kind.

Ah, Dr. Gorman ... or as my good friend Michelle calls him, "the neck whisperer."…read more Between the 50lb briefcase and gym bag hauling every day, the crazy carpal tunnel that developed during my bar exam prep years back and the ex-boyfriend that thought linebacker tackles were funny - I was an absolute mess and getting worse. I am skeptical of all chiropractic cracky-crack doctors and thoroughly researched all alternatives including this thing called, "Active Release" technique. Enter Dr. Gorman. At the time that I made my first appointment, my right wrist was about 10 degrees colder than the rest of my body and I had lost full range of motion in my neck, including any ability to look to the right. My issues took a few visits to resolve but let me tell you, even after the first appointment - the sky opened up, the sun shined down and the birds chirped happily. Those of you that have experienced true neck/back pain can understand what I'm saying here. I rave about Dr. Gorman to anyone that will listen (and merely mentions that they have any pain anywhere) ... he has fixed up many friends/clients and they have all been grateful for the suggestion. Also important - I am a big baby when it comes to doctors and by that I mean I don't go unless there is blood (its just a flesh wound!) and some sort of limb is practically dangling off my body by a thread. Dr. Gorman is warm, kind and very patient ... though he once informed me that I was his worse patient ever to get their neck cracked. Apparently, claustrophobia includes a fear of someone grabbing your head with both their hands and trying to break your neck. He assured me (he gives me the same soothing speech on each visit) that he will not break my neck and he proceeds to walk me thru exactly what is going on ... he ends the talk-thru by telling me to watch fewer movies. Dr. Gorman ... he's a gift from the doctor gods!

He did better than that and I found complete relief in less than the 6 weeks: complete relief of the pain and popping. Greg patiently explained every step of the process to me, what he expected was the problem and how he was planning to solve it. He also explained long term maintenance exercises so my problem will remain at bay. Greg's office is easily accessed via Muni and he has flexible hours that worked well with my work week (early morning times available). Without reservation I wholehearted recommend Greg.

In addition to being caring, considerate, and unique, he has a responsive, precise, intuitive quality of touch that I rarely even see in massage therapists. He listens to the body and finds the right time and muscle tone to make the adjustments, rather than just pushing through, and I've found great pain relief and realignment in old, entrenched injuries to my skull base, pelvis, and shoulder.

I regret needing to write a less than glowing review for Sam, but I feel it's important to share my…read moreperspective, as it deviates from the other reviews here. His chiropractic work did help my pain; the review is not about the quality of his work. I've seen three chiropractors over the years, and they have all helped significantly. However, I feel Dr. Z underdelivered in how he ran his business and in his "bedside manner" or customer service. I just didn't really feel that he cared all that much about my pain. I also don't think the package deal he promotes was worth the price tag. I ended up discontinuing working with him, though I had paid in advance for the package. In discontinuing, I asked for $2500 back, based on my best calculation of care received in light of my dissatisfaction, which I had communicated already. He replied that he would give me $1400, and referred back to his schedule of costs. I was disappointed but not surprised and decided to cut my losses and be done with it. I sometimes felt rushed and that he didn't feel genuine concern for my pain. He took some time off without much notice or communication, rearranging appointments. Everyone gets to have time off, but my ideal care provider would communicate better and ensure their patients were well taken care of first . The package included massage, and online yoga taught by him. The massage therapist was good, but the sessions were short, about 40-45 minutes apiece. I mentioned that to Sam, he said "Well, they're a 50-minute hour" (which is typical for massage.) But his paperwork actually said 60 minutes. For someone already feeling dissatisfied, these things compound. I wish Sam all the best but there was a mismatch in us. I do hope this review serves as useful in his business practice and for others.

However I have learned much since retirement, and am categorically and unreservedly recommending Dr. Angela Zaragoza. I had been bothered by severe back and hip pain, which was getting worse. Angela saw me several times, and after evaluation, recommended that I not sleep on my stomach, which had been my longstanding practice. Almost immediately, my morning back stiffness was not a problem, once I began sleeping on my back. Dr. Zaragoza outlined a plan of strengthening and stabilizing exercises for the core of my body, and I religiously do these exercises daily. My symptoms virtually disappeared after a few weeks. I heartily recommend Angela Zaragoza, DC. In addition to being a knowledgable practitioner, she is a compassionate listener with a heart. Mark D. Reiss, M.D.
