Alfredo and his team helped trim down the liquidambar trees along with other smaller trees in our backyards, and I cannot be more happy with the work they have performed. Alfredo is very easy and straightforward to work with and professional, and someone you feel like you can trust. He is very responsive with excellent communications and follow through. He does what he promised, and arrives on time for the estimate as well as on the day of the job. His team is also excellent. They came with all the necessary equipment, and got the job done and cleanup well. His license is confirmed active on CSLB (Contractors State License Board) and showed that he has workers compensation. He also sent along liability insurance proof as well. This are very important things to check when you shop for a contractor giving the nature of the work. His pricing is also very reasonable and similar to what I had received from a couple others. He was also kind enough to provide help on some additional requests which I appreciate. Tree removal and stump grinding. I got a more expensive quote from another company and I asked them how deep the grinding would go. They said 6-8 inches and I was kind of skeptical that would be enough since the trunk was pretty wide. The quote from Hernandez Tree service was less and Mr Hernandez said the grinding would be deep enough that the trunk would really be gone. I think they went down 10-12 inches -- I dug around a bit and could not find it. The crew also raked up (some of it was stuff they did not generate) and blew stray bits off the concrete patio. A very thorough job. The communication was great. At the time of the estimate he said he might have time to do it the next day, and the next day he called and let me know they would be there soon. We also discussed trimming a couple trees on the property and I was glad to see him recommend we do it later, after the leaves came off for the winter. This is healthier for the tree. The other company did not make that sort of recommendation. I will definitely be calling Hernandez back to do that. read more

Alfredo and his team are amazing!! Alfredo responded within a day to the voicemail I left and was able to come the next day to view our property and give me a quote for the job. The quote was very reasonable for the amount of work we needed to have done. We scheduled the job for a few weeks out, but he happened to have time to get the work done the very next day. The team arrived on time and within two hours, they had removed three large trees and grinding multiple stumps. They were safe, respectful, and cleaned up nicely after the work was done. A thick layer of dust got on my neighbor's car, and they were able to over there with their powerful blowers and clean everything up! Alfredo and his team even moved an old bird of paradise plant to another spot instead of just demolishing it. They came out the day after I called them to remove five huge cypress trees in our backyard. They moved everything out of the way for us. Brought the team in, brought the trees down safely with no disturbance to our neighbors or our structures, removed the stumps and even saved us some nice pieces to use as chairs and coasters. I needed to remove 3 of my distressed birch tree, one of which is leaning towards my neighbor's house and its branches were getting into some power lines. I called Hernandez Tree Service last Friday and they answered the phone right away. Mr. Hernandez was able to stop by to see the trees with in a couple of hours. He also advised me that one more of the 3 birch trees on the other side of my house is half dead. He was able to give me a very reasonable quote. I had called another company for a free quote prior to Hernandez Tree Services. They were supposed to drive by within the afternoon or the following day.
