Ramce and his team did an awesome job removing a 60 foot black locust tree from our backyard. He gave an estimate, showed up two days later and took down this massive tree. They did a great job protecting or moving other plants and furniture. Watching them take down the tree in a controlled manner was very impressive. He's definitely a master of his craft. I can't ask for anything more. They responded to my request right away, came to my house on the weekend to give me an estimate, scheduled for the following Tuesday. They arrived early, got everything done, cleaned and up and were on their way after having me review their work. A team of 4 were able to bring down two 60-yr-old (very tall) pines in under 4 hrs, including shaping a few of the stumps into moveable chairs and benches, which our grandkids love. 4/5 communication, but every project we actually connected on went well. We do industrial installs, and there's occasionally a tree that isn't recorded well in the way. A lot of institutional-level arborists would schedule us weeks out, we work One week out. Ramces occasionally took a couple extra phone calls or texts to get on the same page. But that's 1-2 days of delay compared to maaaaybe a 2 day wait on estimate and a 4 week wait list. Once Ramces got onsite, it's 1-3 days from sapling stump grinding to significant, multi-ton tree removal. We worked with "more professional" arborists in the area, but Ramces performed at least that level, and much more efficiently. read more

In late 2019, we contracted another crew to remove two beautiful redwood trees that unfortunately became too dangerous for our neighborhood. They started the job literally on the same day the Bay Area's shelter in place started, which was in early 2020. The other crew was able to remove the larger of the two trees, but for some reason (I have no idea why) they ended up abandoning the job taking half payment. They're still in business and still getting reviews on Yelp, but they just decided not to come back. So, fast forward to late November 2020, I contacted a whole bunch of crews to get a quote on removing a three story redwood, as well as the stump, in addition to the stump of the tree that was previously removed. Days before Ramces Tree Service started, I even had a crew agree to the job on a Saturday, came with three trucks on the Monday, and told me they couldn't do the job for almost double the price they said they would do it. I had already gotten two quotes before that, so I knew their price was extremely high. Anyway, I think it was either that day I got Ramces Tree Service to give me a quote, along with another crew. Surprisingly, both quotes came in lower than any of my previous quotes and both could start the same week. As you can guess, Ramces gave me the best quote and they said they would start tomorrow. Because the previous company cancelled the same day, I agreed, but was still thinking they might "no show" if they got a better job. But, they were there the next morning and worked hard for the next two days. No complaints, some concrete got damaged, but they were damaged before and needed repair anyway, so I actually kind of knew it was a risk even beforehand. Also, you can tell they're experienced. They plan really well how trunks are going to fall and they protected the concrete work as much as they could. There are some crews who use cranes to lower trunks, but of course would come in at a higher price. For the most part, they did a lot of work for three people, but that's because of experience. I'm actually surprised they only have 30 or so reviews on Yelp. General tip for those requiring big tree removal work, get a lot of quotes and you'll always find that best prices are those who need to fill their last minute spots. I got my two best quotes from crews who needed to fill that week. read more

We needed a few yuccas removed and others trimmed. After interviewing 5 companies, we went with Ramces because he was incredibly honest with us about the condition of our trees and was very competitively priced. Other companies had told us that we could use the yucca mulch and that it was perfectly fine.
