Purchased a Bentley with only one key and purchased a blank key with remote to have a second working key. Contacted several local locksmiths to find someone to cut laser key and program remote. No one was willing as soon as I mentioned it was a Bentley. Went to a local locksmith that has laser cut keys for me prior and he could not. Sent out a request on line to several locksmith as a last effort and Hero Locksmith responded. Was skeptical they would accept after learning the make of the car. The locksmith was quick had my car completely rekeyed in about an hour. He kept me up to date with everything he was doing and as to why. My car needed the door lock removed and the computer removed, reprogrammed and then reinstalled in order to cut my key. If you're interested in paying $75 just for them to tell you they can't do anything, this is the lock Smith for you!! Before the guy came out, he told me that it's typically $95, but it can vary. Then he gets there and says the lock can't be picked, but he can try a different method $25 come out fee + $150 for services. He try's for around ten minutes, tells me he can't do it and that my total is $75. Then takes a picture of my credit card on his phone after he charges me. My wife apparently lost her VW keys somewhere in Corte Madera the night before. The following morning we wanted to drive back to Santa Cryuz and... keys nowhere to be seen. I now have five keys for my 2004 Range Rover HSE 4.4l BMW Engine, all five keys will start the vehicle including yours. This vehicle was built by BMW when they owned Land Rover Range Rover. From what I can tell the mobilization is BMW. I purchased the iLAND Diagnostic System from Atlantic British which states that the tool will mobilize/program keys but not so actually, it can only mobilize keys that are pre programmed for the specific mobilization ECU on the vehicle. I first bought two generic keys on EBAY Keylessking for $36.97 and because they did not mobilize the vehicle I thought the problem was the OEM FCC code, so I bought two move used keys with the OEM FCC code on EBAY. I had all the keys laser/sidewinder cut by AM PM automotive locksmith but they could not program the keys for the vehicle, no charge for their programming effort, they suggested the Land Rover Dealer. I contacted all the independent local Land Rover repair shops but none of them could do it either.I broadened my internet search and found Hero Locksmith 24/7 Mobile Service and they dispatched Benjamin an Israeli tech genius. It took him about two hours to remove the ECU from the center console, not easy, and then he programed each key for the vehicle ECU individually with a whole lot of computer wizardry, replacing all the mobilization mini brick chips for the four keys because they would not work, actually. I payed him $450. I already had the laser cutting done by AM PM for $150., they said they could program the keys also but, not actually. Obviously in a perfect world the Range Rover dealer would provide me with keys at some reasonable price because Im crazy enough to want to buy one of their vehicles, but not actually. Had I found hero-locksmith.com and Benjamin right from the beginning I could have avoided a lot of fooling around and frustration. The Land Rover Range Rover dealer orders new keys from Land Rover directly and charges $250 per key, actually. topremotes Hi, All of the remotes are function tested before listing and again before shipping. He could have easily went through the program steps prior to cutting the key and removing and replacing the internals. experience-half: I have had this key sidewinder laser cut and mobilised/programed by an automotive locksmith he had to replace the miniature brick chip to mobilize the key to start the vehicle but the circuit board remote does not work. I suspect this board is bad because all my other four keys work that he mobilised/programmed with the same procedure. I would like to have another circuit board to replace the one in the key to make the remote feature work.
