Finally made it here. Not many places to sit and do have some outdoor settings if it's warm. Tried several things on the menu- this place is amazing even if the tab adds up quickly. Had two sandwiches- spicy mortadella and a sandwich with ham and blue cheese spread. Sorry, don't remember the name. It was quite decadent. We only ate half of our sandwiches. We had also the big bean salad and the feta garlic dip. Amazing! Leftovers for snaking later... We will definitely be back!

Loved the friendly service and sunny neighborhood cafe vibe when you walk in! Sandwiches were yummy, with fresh ingredients and hearty bread shining through as the stars!! The bread that the Clong is made on is absolutely delicious. I usually like my sandwiches a little more saucey so would maybe ask for more on the side but overall thought these were beautifully curated and filling!! Would definitely be back to try more :)

I love that this little sandwich uses fresh ingredients and changes up their menu. It's very unique and uses great fresh breads. We tried the spicy mortadella and the Clong turkey sandwich. Of the two, I preferred the Clong. Both sandwiches were good, but I was expecting something craveable based on the reviews and this wasn't that. the sandwiches are fairly pricey and not overly huge. While I appreciate the quality and creativity, the flavor factor just wasn't there for me or my family. If you visit, definitely try to go on a day and time that Secret Bakery (their next door neighbor) is also open. All in all, it's worth trying for sure.

Spicy mortadella- delightful sandwich with the perfect bite on the bread; it's not overly crunchy, it's nice and doughy. Service was spot on, happy and helpful folks making great recommendations. That's how I got the pot de crème, it's one luxurious little treat. Much more complexity than just a sugary dessert, it's got layers of flavor. The place has a "portal" to The Secret Bakery. It's a beautiful spot in every way and delicious food will keep them busy for years.

Tall Trees is primarily a carry-out operation. IIRC; only five(?) two-top tables. The menu is small. The sandwiches are excellent, but spendy, no bargains here. The ingredients are top drawer and the portion size is generous. For me, the bread is the star. Very good tastes, but my Clong sandwich needed something more. Maybe a dash of spicy mustard or maybe an acidic tomato? The downsides: - Noisy, very noisy, once the lunch rush starts - The door lacks a closer and 6+ customers could not be bothered to close the door on a 48F day. Will I return? Possibly. TTC is not convenient for me and the value prop is not worth a 20+ mile drive.

I both love and hate the fact that I work a block away from this place because I now want to eat lunch there every day they are open. All the sandwiches I have tried so far have been amazing - my current favorite is the tofuletta even though I'm not vegetarian. The olive relish is that good. Service is always friendly and efficient even when they are busy. Seating is limited though i just take mine back to my office!

Went for the Clong and the Spicy Mortadella. Unfortunately, the semolina roll for the Spicy Mortadella was sold out and I had to have focaccia bread instead. Both excellent anyway. Really wanted the semolina roll. Service was friendly even though the restaurant was packed. Funky Ferndale vibe.

So happy to have this gem in Ferndale! The sandwiches are incredible. They have vegan/veg options. I cannot wait to go back!

So, I didn't register, but of course I made a purchase well, purchases. I bought 1 oatmeal raisin cookie, 1 chocolate cupcake, 2 Blake's donuts annnnd 1 scoop of butter pecan ice cream in a waffle cone. It was very nice when I walked in, the space was clean, the deliciousness was beautifully displayed. It was good to see so many of Blake's Apple Orchard items for sale here. It was kind of quiet, well after the family (father? and 2 children left) nice place to sit and enjoy your goodies, scroll, etc. When I came on Yelp to write my review, I noticed there's one in Grosse Pointe, MI. Glad to know there's one closer that I can return to visit. Ohh, I almost forgot, the ice cream was Really good, I didn't taste like a diet fail at all. The Blake's donut, well you know... aren't they all good? The cupcake was light and the icing was perfect. Now, let me tell you about their oatmeal raisin cookie (my favorite by the way) Man, was that cookie good. All of the goodies were excellent. Nothing was too sweet or off. I really enjoyed everything purchased. You gotta go!!!

We purchased a mix of items to sample two different types of cheesecake, some ini cupcakes cookies and of course the pup cake. My fur baby devoured it. It has perfect density, is well-seasoned, and is easily 15% better than a Five Guys patty. The Toppings: The lack of customization is frustrating. No extra options or toppings are allowed. It comes with American cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce (not a fan), and way too much sauce. The sauce itself is okay, but the burger was drowning in it. The Fries: Good firmness, they definitely hold their shape better than Five Guys but Five Guys' Cajun fries still win on flavor. The Value: I paid about $20 for a burger, fries, and a tip. It feels expensive, but with Five Guys at $18 and a McDonald's Big Arch meal at $14 these days, the price is fairly standard for the current market.

Just realized I didn't take any photos of my food lol…read more 3.5/5 Came here for lunch today after wanting to try this place out. It's a very small burger joint with minimum seating. Ordered a single, a double, two drinks and fries. Totally was 34$. Very expensive I feel. Food was good though. I did enjoy the burger. The single was enough. They don't have any toppings for the burger besides cheese, lettuce and their ghost sauce (basically mayo, pickles and maybe tomatoes). They do have packets of ketchup and mustard if you ask. Fries were fresh and you can tell. This was my favorite thing. They were actually very good. I didn't care for the fancy sauce too much though. But the size of the fries are shareable I feel. Overall I would come here again and try other food. But, with the lack of toppings for the price, it would steer me away.
