Vibe is on point with being a speakeasy. The decor is dark and moody. The entertainment was phenomenal. She sang and played percussion. Such a terrific voice and loads of talent. There is a small bar with about 12 stools, a small lounge area with about 4 small seating nooks, and then a high top bench area that is along the wall. Service and set up of this place is not conducive to being able to attend to patrons. Could only order food if you were seated at the bar. We sat at the high tops and you had to go to the bar to get your drinks. Problem is that the bar has patrons sitting as well so you are hovering over them waiting for a drink. It was very uncomfortable to impose upon others to try to get a drink. I am sure they didn't appreciate the audience as they were eating as well. The bartenders were way too busy and overwhelmed. Not only are they serving the seated patrons and the 4 small nooks, they are also making drinks for the attached restaurant. There were a gazillion tickets coming out of the printer and servers standing on the other side of the window waiting. It's just not possible to serve everyone with just two bartenders. We waited about 10 minutes for service. The drinks were underwhelming for a speakeasy. Just your typical menu. What we ordered was okay. They just missed a great opportunity to create unique twists on classics or to have craft cocktails. Even the classics (which are perfect for a speakeasy) weren't that great. For a speakeasy, the drinks are the main event. Glad we tried it as we always seek out speakeasies. Wouldn't go again. read more

This place has such good potential to be a traditional speakeasy but was completely ruined by two things 1) to get from the dining room to the bathrooms, people have to pass though the speakeasy. So, the door is non stop opening and closing, people constantly walking to and from, and the noise from the dining emanates each time the door opens. Drinking my martini while a family with a dog, a toddler, and a 10 year old sit behind me and wait for their dining room seat. 2) the window from the bar to the kitchen is wide open so you see and hear all kitchen traffic. So I hear a kid behind me and the kitchen in front Drinks were good, but not worth what all came with it. read more

This place fancies itself as an upscale cocktail lounge. The only thing upscale about it are the prices. Sure, it has that old fashioned look with leather and mahongony and nice stools, but it ends there. A true high end coctail bar actually makes and mixes drinks. I sat at the bar for over an hour and watched drink after drink be made with mixes. Sour mix, simple syrup, you name it they used it. A cocktail bar should use sugar cubes, muddle ingredients, use fresh juice and herbs, you get the gist. Lousy drinks and experience. read more

Berlin's is part of the A&B Lobster house family, and is upstairs. The interior has a speakeasy feel, with dark seating areas and a bar. We arrived at 5:22, the sign on the door said closed, but an employee coming out an adjacent door said it was open and to head inside. It was quiet in there, a few other folks scattered around. We sat at the bar and promptly received cocktail and wine menus. My husband ordered a dry martini, extra olives. As the bartender was making it, he continued to ask questions as if he didn't pay attention to the order. "You wanted it dirty,right?" No. "You wanted blue cheese olives, right?" No. We were the only ones ordering drinks so I'm not sure the reason for his distraction while making an $18 martini. In the end, it was well made, we just had to pay attention to how he was making it. Then, just after 5:30, a bunch of people streamed in from the adjacent restaurant door. After a couple dozen began to fill the place, we asked the bartender the scoop. He said at least 50 people were arriving for a company holiday party. It's great companies are having parties for their employees. What was not great is that this small space became instantly loud and packed with people. I don't know why they just didn't note they were having a private event on the door. The calm, cool jazzy feeling immediately dissipated and was replaced by a huge group of people who clearly began partying elsewhere, and had now arrived to continue the celebration in very loud voices. Not the experience we had anticipated and not a classy move to keep quiet on informing non private party patrons. From the company perspective, I appreciate there are still organizations out there who recognize employees and celebrate as a team! Very cool. I have no idea if they were aware there was no way for the bartenders to know who was a patron and who was with the party. People just came up to the bar and ordered drinks and could have it added to the tab at their request if they chose to do so. read more

I really enjoyed this place for a cocktail! It's tucked upstairs away from the madness of the key west harbor. A jem with a great ambiance. The place had jazz music and they crafted a great bourbon drink. read more

Last night, we had the opportunity to hear Bria Ansara sing! We've been going there for years and have missed her beautiful voice!! She always drew a crowd and last night was no different. A secret jazz hideaway, upstairs in the corner of a seafood restaurant! Phil/keyboard and Kenny/trumpet drew us into a comfy corner, and kept us there with brilliant renditions of the standards we know, love, and are still humming, a week later. See you next year, hopefully! The only downside: the restaurant's restrooms are located within Berlin's, so there is a steady stream of humanity coming and going past the cozy corner, many of whom couldn't give two hoots for jazz. Ironic, but occasionally distracting. Still, worth every minute! read more

Website is misleading. It is portrayed as a speakeasy but is more of a self served bar, with a nice interior. We made reservations but was told it wasn't required (no host to assist to accept anyways). 1st round of drinks were subpar, 2nd round, different bar tender, much better. Did have very clean bathrooms. Would not return to this establishment. read more

Always love going to this cigar bar located above AB Lobster House after dinner. Great spirt and cigar selections and the staff makes you feel like family. We stumbled upon this place trying to get out of the rain, and we are so glad we did. Sean and Steve took great care of us, especially in the COVID environment. We grabbed drinks and dinner, and it was the best meal we've had in Key West in our years visiting here. The fillet was perfect, and the hubs said the crab cakes were the best he ever had. Beautiful view of the marina, and a quality Old Fashioned. It was the most expensive meal during our vacation, but definitely worth it. We will certainly be back. read more
