We stayed 4 nights late March 2024. If you are reading reviews posted 2 years ago, ignore them. By all accounts the HHC has had a makeover. If you're looking for amenities and big space, go somewhere else. If you want a lovely experience, a small attractive, clean, room, with a comfy bed in a lovely building, you found it. Yes, the TV is small... so what.. did you come to KW to watch TV? By the time we hit the room each night we were 'done' and slept well. During our stay, no street noise to speak of. The AC kept the humidity out and our room very comfortable. Roman is a gracious host ready to help you with any plans you wish to make plus loads of information about Key West. We truly enjoyed knowing him. The pool is clean, the clothing optional sun deck is.. well.. .clothing optional, and the breakfast is light and well done. Horrible stay. Would you want to sleep in a mattress that has bugs, blood stains, and no mattress protector on it? They are not willing to give us our money back. My girlfriend and I were there for 30 minutes, checked the bed, and opted to leave. The staff claims they were going to offer us another room. However, the two rooms, one was locked, and the other was not in a condition for guests to stay in. There are many better options than this location in Key West. Spend your money wisely and choose a different location. Oh, and the owner said "they have pictures too", which is hilarious, insinuating there was nothing wrong with the mattress. We have stayed many times at this place and have always had a good experience. So we arrived on Thursday Oct 23rd staying a week until the 29th. Fast forward to Saturday. My wife experience a medical emergency and requires surgery so we check out after 6. Called the number with no answer and left a message. Her procedure was successful in Miami and we departed the hospital Tuesday and just went back home. I have sent a message on their website contact us form, no response. Waited a few days and se t an email to their email listed on the website. Again no response/reply. A third email was sent yesterday and ....crickets, no response again. Was hoping to discuss a partial refund or credit for a future visit but no response. Even if this is a no refund policy response, I would expect a RESPONSE! Am I asking too much? I believe we will being seeking different accommodations in the future, and referrals for this will not be coming from us. read more

Why I will never stay here again- ac in room did not work-no one available for anything after 5 pm (could call someone or text but a possible charge of 50$ for that)-no coffee available until 08 and that is in lobby- no cups or coffee in your room-breakfast served from08-10 is average at best-25$ daily resort fee for who knows what-pool was dirty upon our entire stay-rooms small- no place to put suitcase other than on top of bed- envelope for Tips for cleaners- 1 single serve shampoo and lotion the day arrived and never restocked. At first this place seemed beautiful. The room was different than the one online but we thought it would make do. The online price was honored until we walked upstairs and saw a new charge on our card... that's to make up the difference between the online price and what they REALLY wanted for the room. Let me preface this by stating that the manager Roman was fantastic and cannot say anything but great things about him. The two star review is due to the lack of concern from housekeeping. After our second night we woke up to what seemed to be a bloody sheet. We did not notice this until the morning time as it was covered by the comforter. I politely addressed it to the gentleman at the front desk who said they would get it changed ASAP (this was on Roman's day off). There was no apology, no offer of any compensation, I assume they never notified management because nothing was ever brought up to us. These are potentially BODILY FLOODS we slept on, and it was treated as no big deal? It was a bit dated which we could deal with, but when you're paying $400+ a night I would expect other things that are part of their control to be top notch for what they're charging. I was debating making this post but I think other people should know how seedy this place feels before paying $400+ a night. We spent two nights at this property. We contacted the property to let them know we would be arriving late and they left keys taped to the door. Unfortunately they were not the keys to our room. Nothing like a long day of traveling and being locked out of your room. The room was run down with cracks in the ceiling, rusting plumbing fixtures, an uncomfortable bed and blinds that do not cover the windows completely. The only positive was the price. Positive: Concierge Roman was very personable and helpful in recommending restaurants and entertainment. Negative: The room we had was terrible. It was not in the main building but next to the laundry room in a small building at the back of the property. The room was small, the floor was slanted and uneven and when the washer was in spin cycle it shook the wall and rattled the refrigerator in the room. The water in the shower was affected if the washer was running. There was a noisy window air conditioner which I didn't see in the rooms of the main building. I guess $250 per night plus $15 per night amenities fee is supposed to be a good deal in Key West but we were extremely disappointed. They shouldn't rent out that room or if they do it should be half price. read more

Just returned from a weekend stay in Key West with 4 couples. We were arriving on the Key West Express out of Ft. Myers and wanted something not too far from the ferry port. This place was awesome! Special kudos to Steve who greeted us upon arrival, was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We met Roman on our last day and they were kind enough to let us keep our bags at the desk while we went on our last hurrah around the island before leaving! What a wonderful place! You can tell it was a B&B frozen in the 1980s and there was something endearing about it all. Bright pastel pinks and purples decorated our room. The water pressure was a bit lacking and there was a little bit of crumbs under the bed (only noticed when I dropped my phone). But overall, a more than wonderful experience. Roman was our Host that greeted us when we got there and I loved his demeanor and how professional he is with the guests. Give that guy a raise! Definitely recommend staying here. read more

We booked a room for October 6, 2024. We had tickets to go to Key West on the Key West Express that day, staying at Heron House Court that night and returning the next day. When we booked this trip, we had no idea that we would be facing a Category 5 hurricane that was threatening the entire state of Florida within the next few days. The Key West Express cancelled our reservation and moved their boat north to a safer place as the waters were getting rough. We called Heron House Court with the given situation and they refused any kind of refund, even though the weather wouldn't permit us to get to Key West. The manager's response was to tell us that we should have just driven our car to Key West. What a great idea...forget about the threat of the hurricane especially not knowing at the time where or when it was going to hit land, or what the impact might be with 185mph winds and water surges expected to hit up to 15 feet. Obviously the staff at Heron House Court could care less about anyone's safety. read more

When we first entered Roman (what a guy!) ensured we were taken care of immediately. He was warm, welcoming and just outstanding. The room was clean and reasonably priced and very cute. The facilities overall were intimate and the staff was very accommodating, friendly and genuine. We very much enjoyed the pool and privacy. It was a warm environment where you didn't feel awkward chatting up other guests and it was just a very pleasant environment overall. We'll definitely be back. :) read more

The perfect place to stay, in a super nice environment, very clean, incredible tranquility, the bedrooms have what you really need, and an excellent service from the staff, exclusively from Roman, such a nice person, always ready to solve your concerns, from the beginning, because we didn't find parking, which is the only thing a little difficult in the area, but with that fine Roman attention, everything is easy for you. Roman, you are an excellent host. In the morning they offer you a quick breakfast, but you take it at home, they have a table for 8 people, and if you like you can go out to the patio to take it at the tables outside, I assure you that you will love it. There is a wonderful space to sit on the patio, and very spacious, we did not take advantage of the pool, but if we had the opportunity to tour the hotel and everything looks clean and very well maintained, without a doubt, we will recommend it to our friends. Excellent work team. Do not hesitate to stay here, the rest is priceless! ahhh and the free bus to travel the keys you have it just one block from the hotel, you do not need to rent bicycles or scooters, everything is there in your hands, the buses run every 15 min and the last one is at 10pm, if you Leave, you will enjoy the streets walking them, we did it the first night, and we had no problem, here the place is very healthy and the people are very nice. read more

Heron House Court is a 16 room guesthouse in Old Key West. The guy at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us a tour of the house when we arrived. Showed us the pools and invited us to take advantage of their cheese and wine hour (awesomeness!). Our room was spacious and pretty with a nice view of Frances Street. The guesthouse is 6 blocks (10 minute walk) from Duval Street. If you're going to Key West for Spring Break or Fantasy Fest, this place is going to be too far for you. 6 blocks might as well be 10 miles after a night out during either of those events. They offer a complimentary breakfast which looked really good. I'm not a big fan of eating breakfast at breakfast time, but the food they had out looked delicious. Pastries, bagels, muffins, cereals, juices and coffee. Their website says something about being gay friendly...it's Key West. Did they have an option? read more

Run down rooms. Everything is old and falling apart. Towel rack falling off the wall, all the fixtures are way past there past due date. When you remodel, use fiberglass doors the dry rot is not great for sealing the wind from blowing in during the freak cold snap. No coffee, until 8:00 am-10:00am during breakfast. Stayed here for 2 days 1 night. The staff here are SUPER friendly, we met Roman at the front desk and he was so nice and welcoming. The place is a bit old but we had room 10 and it was spacious with 2 sinks (1 toilet). The hair dryer in the bathroom was very outdated so I would recommend you bring your own. The breakfast was simple, no hot items. Picture included. Location is great, especially if you are taking the Key West Express since it is only 2 blocks away. Easy walking distance To get around, take the FREE bus. Ask Roman at the front for a free map and destinations of where the bus goes. This place is horrible! The man at the front desk was rude and didn't seem to care about anything. Then they did false advertising bc the site that I booked with said nothing about a $20 resort for everyday you are there and when I tried to show him he just kept saying it says it I know it does. I even tried to show him on my phone but he didn't want to look. And trust me this is not a RESORT! Then the rooms are very old, dirty and a lit of things are broken. After 6pm there is no one there to help you with anything if you need it. On top of all of that the breakfast in the morning is ridiculous! It's chaotic and the eggs are being cooked by the receptionist behind the front desk! Also there was a window AC in our room that was so loud we couldn't sleep! And it takes for ever to cool the room off bc they turn it off when you are not in the room. This was our first time to Key West and we had an amazing time. The staff at Heron house court are so welcoming and sweet to their guests. They are extremely accommodating and thoughtful. We stayed here for our honeymoon and were brought flowers to our room to say congratulations. They provided us with so many great suggestions of places to go and things to see. At one point in our stay, we were talking to the staff about the mango tree and he brought us a fresh mango with a knife and cutting board to try. My husband and I were looking for a nice little place to stay for 2 nights to enjoy our First Wedding Anniversary. We couldn't have been happier with the service provided at Heron House Court. I searched online for a while, especially after Hurricane Irma hit to find a decently price room. Most hotels were a little out of our price range but we selected this bed and breakfast after going back and forth between two. Upon arrival Michael was eager to get us checked in, and even early. Our room wasn't quite ready but we were encouraged to leave our luggage, grab some lunch and when we came back we could get settled in. When we came back Roman finalized our check-in along with providing us a list of local favorites to dine out, with several maps of places to see and things to do. My husband and I agree that we would definitely come back and wanted to recommend it to others. For anything we wanted to do, a walk wasn't that bad for us. Most populated areas, like Duval St, only took us 10-15 minutes to walk to dependent on where we were headed. The inn keepers did also recommend they could set up bike rentals for us as well as sunset tours, or water excursions. All in all we had a great trip. read more

We are staying here now. The day before we arrived the hot water heater went out and will not be changed out for two days. Instead of contacting us about the issue and allowing us to back out of reservation by contacting us, they waited until we arrived to tell us. Hot tub is out so they waived the "Resort Fee". Believe me. This is no resort. It is "nice", but certainly not close to a resort. Tiny shower, took about 5 minutes for the sink to drain, electric plug is loose in the wall. read more
