My car was towed to Herrick Auto Rebuilders in July. They charge astronomical storage fees that make it virtually impossible for a person struggling financially to get their car back. Since it's been a few months, we attempted to resolve the situation. Without notifying me (I hold the title of the car), they went to the Secretary of State and got themselves a new title for my car, claiming I abandoned it, despite me trying to resolve this with them. I never got any letters or calls from them to notify me of anything. This business legally stole my car from me. I can't imagine how many other vehicles they've used legal loopholes to obtain for their own financial benefit, with no regard for the owners of the vehicles, not even enough to contact them. read more

I drive cars until they drop and put money into them to keep them running. I'd just dumped $5,000 in a trany rebuild, starter and alternator when the car got crunched in a fender bender. The car's age and mileage amounted to a low payout by the insurance company. But Chuck at Herrick worked with me to get it fixed for the payout so I could have my 'driver' vehicle. It looks great and the suspension damage was fixed so it runs true. The staff kept me informed as to the progress and had the vehicle fixed in a reasonable time frame. I had to bring 2 different cars to Herrick and they have provided incredible service. Both were due to parking lot accidents. The service from the front desk ladies to the mechanics, to the managers, have all been excellent. They went above and beyond and made a point to spend extra time and continued to go over my daughter's car with a fine-toothed comb to make sure everything was great for her. They even offer free rental car loaner. They negotiated with my insurance company to ensure they would pay for new parts as insurance companies are allowed to repair with used parts. Hopefully, I will never need an auto body shop again, but if I do, I will not go anywhere else. Herrick provides quality service and excellent customer service. read more

I was in an accident in January after a teenager slid through a stop sign during some freezing rain and hit my brand new 2021 Nissan Titan. I called Herrick to do the repairs and they picked my truck up on a Sunday. Because of part shortages everywhere it took 4 months to get my truck back. Through all this time they communicated to me where they were at every week. They were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. They even pulled a dent out of my hood done by a softball and fixed a spot on my tailgate in which some of the bed liner paint was on the back of my tailgate. A flaw from the factory. They also offered to install my wind guards for my windows which I had since December. The amazing thing is they fixed these for free saying to me that they felt bad for how long i was without my truck. They didn't have any control over parts that weren't in stock. I really appreciated that! In the end they did an awesome job! My truck had damage from the front end and all down the passenger side of the truck and it looked like the day I had picked it up from the dealer! This is a business you can rely on. About 13 years ago I took my car in for repair and they did an outstanding job and left a box of cookies on my front seat. :) I had a mishap with a cement pillar in my work parking lot and I went to Herricks again without giving it a thought. They were good 13 years ago and I assumed they would be just as good today. I was right. They repaired my car, kept me informed, worked with Enterprise so I could have a rental, of course through my insurance, and the car was returned to me as good as new and oh, so clean. read more

I had my 2017 Audi A6 repaired here after an accident. The service was outstanding. I received numerous calls updating the job (it had $20k in damage). Outstanding customer service, workmanship, quality and price. I took our dented truck to Herrick in August because the auto body service I had used previously was closed. Herrick did a phenomenal job! And they had it finished when I needed it and within my budget. They provided me with some extra touch up paint and even buffed out another area of the truck that had a scuff. And, after taking care of the paperwork, I went out and got in the truck and there was a huge box of "thank you" cookies on the front seat! The reason I am prompted to write this review now in December,4 months after the service was completed, is that today I received a Christmas card from Herrick Auto Rebuilders---with a $10 gift card to Panera Bread! I came in to have some body work done after I was hit by a driver. I had already received my check from the insurance company, however when I came to Herrick's I still wanted the best price regardless of what my insurance paid. When I arrived for an estimate right away they asked me what the insurance paid and I said it doesn't matter, just estimate it as a cash job. When all was said in done they estimated the repair cost about $150 less than the insurance paid me. Great, or so I though. I left my car there to be repaired with my written estimate. They also asked if I could fax them the estimate from the insurance company. I thought no problem since now I have their estimate so it's not a problem to give them the insurance numbers. A weeks passed and I was called to come in and pick up my car. When I was given the bill it was for $150 more than they estimated when I brought my car in. In fact, it was for the exact amount down to the penny of what the insurance company paid me. When I said this is not what I was quoted they told me there were some "unexpected expenses". I said how convenient that the "unexpected expenses" were for the exact amount of what my insurance check was for. After some back and forth they did charge me the original amount I was quoted. The work they did on the car was fine, no complaints there. However, this place feels more like a "cash grab" for every penny you have, and dishonest price quotes. If choosing a body shop again I'm going to pass on Herrick's. read more

Incredible customer service that went above and beyond. My husband got into a minor accident that was the fault of the other driver, and her insurance set us up with Herrick's. They took care of absolutely everything; We never had to deal with the insurance company again. This is a family owned and operated business, and it shows. When we came in to pick up our car, even though we didn't physically pay them a penny, they gave us a tin of cookies and thanked us for the business. It doesn't get much better than that. read more

Brought my car in after my daughter had an accident. Had several good reviews from coworkers. Was first told they were booked up for a few weeks. Once they acutally looked at my car, they took it right away. I was told there were still parts falling off, and it wasnt safe to drive. The office gave me a loaner car for the night, and then set up a rental car for me, which even picked me up at the shop the next day. Car was ready when promised, and repair was perfect. I agree the 2 folks below, they took a BMZ z3 and turned it in to junk, they said they knew how to fix it, they didn't. They also gave me an estimate on some minor paint work for $530.00 on the trunk lid of the car, then changed their minds and wanted $960.00. I told them no that was too costly for that little bit of work. They were also doing insurance work for me as someone had backed into the front of the car and that persons insurance company sent me to them (bad luck for me). When I came in to pick up the car, they went and did the minor paint job anyways, even after I told them no. They tried to now get me to pay the $960.00. They said they had to remove the trunk lid and repaint the entire thing, well now it leeks like crazy in the rain and never did before. They claim they had to remove all the old paint from the trunk in order to repaint, I took it to the dealer they said no way did they repaint the entire trunk lid and that they put the thing back on incorrectly. They tried strong arming when I can to pick up the car, my son was with me at the time....this place is bad news...... read more

The customer service here is second to none. My mom has been taking her cars here for over 30 years. She has never had any problems with their quality of work. Recently she had made an appointment to bring her car in. When she didn't show up for the appointment they repeatedly tried to call her. They tried all day & were unable to get a hold of her. The next morning they tried to get a hold of her again & still couldn't reach her. They had someone go to her house to check on her. She didn't answer her door & her car was in the driveway. They alerted her sister & then her son. Unfortunately she was discovered passed away. If Herrick's employees had not cared about a missed appointment, by a loyal customer, god only knows how long we might have gone before we realized anything was wrong. I was involved in a car accident right before New Year's Eve, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital, while my vehicle was towed by Herrick's to their shop. I did not leave the hospital till after five pm (after closing for the body shop) and when my husband called them to find out about getting my personal belongings I needed out of the vehicle he was told by the answering service that no one would be in the office till Tuesday (my accident being on a Friday) but they took a message and said they would contact someone and have them get back to us, well with in 15 mins we received a call from a nice gentleman who said he would not mind at all meeting us at the shop to let us collect whatever items I needed that night! When we got there he was so kind, showing concern for my well being after an accident, he walked me back to my vehicle (it was dark out and not much lighting) with a flashlight, made sure we had all the proper information we needed and addressed any questions or concerns we had. After the insurance company evaluated and deemed the vehicle a total loss, my husband and I went a week later to collect the rest of our personal items out of the car, and the kind woman at the front desk was so nice, again helped us with all our concerns answered all our questions and even helped with some suggestions for our next steps. After a very upsetting ordeal such as a car accident, it means a lot to be treated with such respect and empathy from companies you have to deal with, I for sure will recommend them to anyone and would use them in the future if I need to (fingers crossed I won't need to though ) read more
