We decided to go tree hunting here based on previous reviews, and I don't know that we will be…read moregoing back. The trees were all $60 (smart money says they will be $65 next year since they seem to be climbing pretty consistently), and the pickings were already pretty slim by 12/04 - we found a nice looking tree, but the vast majority looked a little bit eaten. On the way out, I overheard one of the employees cautioning a customer that they were starting to run out of nice trees, so maybe I would have felt differently had I gone a week earlier. My main objection was the noise level. The roving army of tractors that bring the trees to the area where they are bundled and loaded up onto your car kind of give the place a distracting, dystopian/militaristic tree compound feel that just didn't lead to that happy seasonal feel that the Mr and I left with when we went to a smaller farm in Connecticut last year. I personally would chose the inconvenience of having to carry a tree to my car over that unsettling racket any day. Still, the people were very nice and the area is beautiful...so it's not all bad.

We love it - it's a great way to usher in the Christmas season every year. The trees at Ingraham are all $55 regardless of size and they have a great selection. (There are some other farms around that charge more and have much less to choose from.) The farm is family owned and the staff is super helpful. It's really fun to walk around and look at all the trees, then choose the perfect one and cut it down.

Such good people. Such a great place.

Hands down my favorite plant nursery I have ever been to! Mr. and Mrs. King (along with their dog…read moreDjango) and a bunch of helpers run a place that is better described as an experience than a "store". All of the plants are outside on the Kings vast land. The King's are like a living history of the Merrimack valley region - Mr. King can tell you stories about these towns when they were still all farm lands. There are frogs, turtles, toads, and other amazing animals close at hand while you're looking at a gorgeous selection of some of the nicest plants you've ever seen. The variety is incredible, and the quality is unsurpassed. No artificial fertilizers are used and Mr. King swears this is why deer don't bother his plants. He knows everything about every type of plant he sells and can answer whatever question you've got. I can't stress enough just how nice it is to be out there though - the drive over a tiny bridge, the "turtle crossing" signs, the acres of amazing plants to explore - and most importantly, the Kings themselves - 2 of the nicest, happiest, and most interesting people you could meet! Absolutely worth checking this place out.
