My family has taken ALL of our pets to Dr. Mimnagh's Office for over 30+ years! Both Dr. Mimnagh…read moreand the other Veterinarian's that work under him are truly compassionate, knowledgeable. They are there to help your pet get better (if sick or injured) or to just for a checkup & update vaccines. I Love how they talk to my dogs, and they usually spoke to them before me. That to me right there shows how much they care about the animals. Dr. Mimnagh was so gentle with my dog Dewey, he is the only person who Dewey would let (without a fight) trim his nails (including me). I truly believe Mrs. Margaret Mimnagh is an angel! She helped me through the extremely rough time when I had to put my dog Dewey to sleep. He was 13 1/2 years old. She treated me like I was FAMILY, not a client or a chart number. Anything I have ever needed for any of my pets they have always gone above and beyond. Most recently I called the office explained what was going on with my dog (throwing up, diarrhea) they told me to come in to pick up Medicine (it was around 6pm in the evening). When I got there she told me if Casey wasn't better in a day or 2 to call back and we'll get you right in! His office does not overcharge for services / office visits or medications like some of the other Veterinarians in Central PA. They are not in practice to bankrupt you, but are there to help your fur-babies. No matter where I have moved to in my life (even when I was almost an hour away) I continued to take pets to Dr. Mimnagh and his crew and will continue to do the same as long as I have pets!

I have nothing good to say about this vet.  Dr. Mimnagh is a cruel man…read more We came to this practice from a referral.  After a biopsy was done, they found out that our 3 year old cat had very aggressive cancer.  After chemotherapy treatments were not improving her condition, we decided to keep her home and let her have her last few months with us in peace instead of weekly vet visits. The biopsy and chemo treatments were done by another vet at this practice and we were grateful to have them.   The day we decided to euthanize our cat, we showed up at 4:50 for our 5PM appointment.  We waited until 5:45 to be seen.  Pure agony when you know that something horrible is about to happen.  I also had my two kids with me since this was our family cat.  We were all heartbroken to lose her.  When Dr Mimnaugh came into the room - he was pushy and rushed.  He kept calling her "kitty" instead of her name.  He asked why we were here and had us go through her medical history WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE READ HIS OWN RECORDS.  While he prepped our cat, his assistant pushed us aside so we could not be near her and the assistant continued to ask us about how we were paying and asking us for our card to pay.  She did not wait or give any empathy as to the moment at hand.  Either way, the payment could have been taken at any point of the 45 minutes we were kept waiting past our appt time. The worst part - Dr. Mimnaugh did not sedate our cat.  They scruffed her, held her down and injected her with one shot.  Our cat spent her last moments screaming in pain.  SHE SUFFERED. And all of this was done in front of my kids while Dr. Mimnaugh joked that the "men of the house take these things much harder than the wife or kids".  I don't understand how this man still has a business when this is how he treats animals at their end of life.  Our pet suffered until her heart stopped and it was at the hands of Dr. Mimnaugh.

I was Kevin's client for five years when I lived in the Harrisburg area. True, his practice is…read moreexpensive- however, you get what you pay for. I was always treated with a great amount of respect there. My dog never had really super serious problems while I was his client, but he was always there for me with every case of worms- and with a hound, there were lots. Developing a relationship is important in Kevin's practice- vets tend to see a lot of pet owners that are unprepared at best. So, he tends to treat pretty aggressively, and order more diagnostics than other vets might to protect himself. If you disagree with him, stay calm, be reasonable and be assertive, and he will be as well. Time in the practice and not skipping out on regular visits helps this along. Plus, there are a few intangibles as a client of Kevin's. They have separate waiting rooms for cats and dogs. They price match prescription medication. And if you're a client, you will find no better rates for boarding. Bottom line is that Kevin's practice deserves a better rating than it has. I can't give it a five star review because of the price, but he kept my business for five years- that's got to count for something.

Dr. Starvetsky is AMAZING! We recently moved. We have a spicy cat named Jekyll. I have seen some…read morevery good veterinarians and vet techs struggle with her. That same cat turned into butter with Dr. Starvetsky. Jekyll needed to have her blood pressure checked. That's a tough one because it usually takes multiple people to hold Jekyll down and then we get a high reading because the cat is so stressed out. When Dr. Starvetsky took Jekyll's blood pressure, she stayed calm and got a lower (more accurate) reading. We have multiple pets who are older and have some chronic health issues. I feel very confident with Dr. Starvetsky as our veterinarian. Everyone that I have met so far at this clinic has been super helpful.

When I had a problem with my cat peeing blood, a year or two ago, first I couldn't get anyone to answer my call; second nobody would return my call from the Emergency line. I stay because I love Dr. Sarsfield. I don't usually have a problem, but it took me 7 days to get my cat to be seen when she was peeing blood! Needless to say, I was angry. I have been a loyal client and expect the same loyalty when my pet is in dire need. They are very kind. Lately it seems they are have staffing problems for the front desk. And I will continue to go there. I've always been happy with them, but had a really bad experience that has stuck with me.

Our dog was diagnosed with kidney disease about three months ago. Since the only thing we could do…read morewas modify her diet, it became even more critical to identify the right solution. Our vet prescribed the usual prescription diet you'll find at most vet's offices, but I just couldn't get past the gut feeling that there had to be something better. As fate would have it, our dog walker referred us to Hershey Pet Food Company. John (and his wife) took the time to talk to me about our dog's diet, and suggested raw food. John is incredibly well-versed and researched in this area; coupled with, he put me directly in touch with one of the food company's owners to answer some additional questions we had. Three months later, I got the results of our dog's blood work back today and her levels have reversed! BUN is in a normal range (went from 41 to 30); creatinine went from 2.1 to 1.8. I am beyond overjoyed as our four legged gal is our first child and we want to keep her around as long as we possibly can. I'm a believer! I'd also like to add that the prices are very reasonable. I want to support our community and small business, but I also professionally talk about how to save money, so I had to do my research. Pet toys are around the same price as what I've seen on Amazon, and in some cases, a dollar or so cheaper. I would support their business regardless, but I think it's worth noting that you're getting so much more value for your dollar by supporting a community business and access to the information that John and Brandy have to offer.
