The Hershey Bears played the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Hershey won 2-1. Hershey is the AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals.

    View behind visitors bench!

Tonight was the 3rd & last Hershey bears game I will ever attend. The 1st game we sat near an obnoxious fan who was sitting behind the visitor's bench. He yelled & screamed insults at the opposing team the ENTIRE game. He had no interest in watching the game, he was just interested in getting drunk & trying to think of any insult he could, the guy must not have been shown enough attention as a child & was obviously picked on growing up & now wants to get even with the world. A security guard asked him to stop several times, but the guy laughed & hurled insults at him. I thought this was an isolated incident, so we went back the 2nd time. Unbelievably, this guy was there again & acted the same exact way, he had season tickets! Everyone around us felt very uncomfortable & we were told by other season ticket holders that this was an every game thing for this guy. I complained to security that night, again, and they said their hands were tied because the Giant Center management refuses to do anything about it or enforce their own "fan conduct" policies. So I contacted Hershey Bears management, as well as Giant Center management, the following day. They were both very familiar with this fan saying they've had numerous complaints about him. They said they would talk to him & try to tone him down, but said as long as he doesn't break any laws, there's not much they can do! Really?? This guy has to commit a crime before banning him from the arena?? How about enforcing your own policy on fan conduct which "strictly" prohibits this kind of behavior?? So I was dumb enough to go back for the 3rd time, and there he was drinking beer after beer and getting louder & more obnoxious the more he drank! Never again, I'll never go to the giant center ever again for any kind of event! The following is the Hershey Bears fan conduct policy which they do NOT enforce: POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - FAN GUIDELINES Guests must refrain from conduct that is inconsistent with the fun and family atmosphere at Giant Center. Such conduct includes but is not limited to: interfering with other guests' ability to enjoy an event; using foul or abusive language or gestures; appearing to be in a drunken or diminished capacity; failure to produce a ticket on request or sitting in a seat which is not ticketed; possession of unauthorized items; and interfering with an event. Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest.

The staff is awesome in allowing the children to participate with aspects of the game like being ballboys, allowing the kids to run in with the mascot and the players. If you contact the Heat general manager, he'll be able to set you up with any packet you may want. The games are often high scoring with the Heat getting better each season through management of Pat Healey. We are hopeful that in time the Heat will be reliving its glory days of old! The tickets are often between 15-20 dollars but special deals are often available. The venue is pleasant enough with concession stands where you can buy all kinds of drinks, including beer, foods and snacks. Be prepared to bring some wipes for your seat if you attend a game shortly after the Farmshow in January due to dusty conditions.

Game tickets run $13.00 - $20.00, and parking can be about $10. They frequently have groupons, giveaways or promotions to offset this cost. By no stretch of the imagination are they considered a good team, but they are the local indoor soccer club to visit. 2015-2016 season was kind of disappointing, with only 1 victory over the Syracuse Silver Knights. They usually team up with local businesses to offer Clinics, mini Summer Camps, 1 day sessions, etc. Fun way to kill some time in winter. The park is nicer and easier to get into. Parking is cheaper. The lines are shorter, the food is better, the people seem to have more fun. The emphasis at a Revs game seems to be on fun. Seeing a Senators game seems like a way for the team and the stadium to extract money out of customers and do the least they can in the way of providing a fun experience. Tonight the Revs lost but it was still a pleasure to attend the game, eat ballpark food, and watch the outstanding fireworks afterward.

Food options were nice and not crazy expensive. They had all these freebies - baseball caps, pens, pencils, lanyards, ponchos, even candy! I don't know, though, if this was a special thing or is every game. There was a lot to hold an 8-year- old's interest- fun games and silliness between innings. The Saturday fireworks were canceled due to lateness of the game (rain delay) and the noise ordinance in the city, but all were given the opportunity to come back for free to another game. I mean can you ask for anything more? My daughter, not a baseball fan, said "this was a lot better than I imagined."
