On July 14, my church took a bus trip to see the play Joshua at Sight & Sound, and it was such an incredible experience. After the play, we went to Hershey Farm Resort for dinner, and let me tell you--that was the biggest buffet I have ever been to! The food was absolutely amazing, with so many delicious options to choose from. I even tried crème brûlée French toast for the first time, and it was so good! If you ever get the chance to eat there, I highly recommend it. The restaurant itself is beautiful. As soon as you walk in, it's bright, welcoming, and incredibly spacious. The atmosphere made the experience even better. From an unforgettable show to an amazing meal, it was a wonderful day filled with great food, great fellowship, and great memories. Breakfast Buffet: 4.5 stars, great complimentary breakfast with lots of options and custom made omelets. Tidy operation with great service from the staff. Some of the hot items in the buffet were cold, maybe because we dined at 8am right when they opened (???) Hotel Rooms: 2 stars... fairly nice and tidy rooms. Comfortable beds and a restful nights sleep. The negatives -- We stayed for 2 nights; the hotel automatically disabled the card key after the first night, resulting in us having to go back to the front desk to get it reactivated. In addition, our room was not made up or refreshed for the 2nd night despite the fact the other rooms in our section were refreshed. Reservations: 0 stars. Group reservations are horrible. Difficult to get responses and one of the couples in our group was left with no room the 2nd night and were forced to scramble to find a place to stay. The person handling the group gave an apology but nothing else. Convenience: 5 stars; easy walk up to Sight & Sound Theater without having to move your car. Overall: all things considered, I would rate this experience 3 stars. If you just want to eat here, it's a good value but other restaurants in the area might be a better choice. If you want a hotel close to Sight & Sound, this is your place. read more

Everytime We go see a play at Sight and Sound we try here. The stay is amazing. The very frist time that we stayed here the restaurant had just burned down. So we had all you could eat breakfast in the main hotel. It we as nice we did that twice. This time we were able to stay at the Carriage House on the platform it was so nice. I think that it was a new section. We normally stay in the carriage which is equally nice. We had breakfast in the new restaurant it was amazing it was all you can eat. The food was great the staff was friendly. There were stores in the foyer area outside the restaurant. If you go to Sight and Sound definitely give it a stay you can Literally walk to the theater from the hotel. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. read more

Our server Nicky was so helpful! We had a big family get together, so there was three tables of jovial bliss. Such a variety of food! So many kinds of soups! I enjoyed the mushroom soup. I took just a spoonful of it because I didn't wanna try different things. They have a crème brûlée French toast that a lot of people rave about and I will say... Without a doubt, it was magnificent and delicious and so fresh! I did have a salad and it was very colorful and my whole family really enjoyed their meal here. The seating is large family style tables because they generally appeal to large groups. Everything was elegant. With four hot food lines, a salad island, a dessert island, a made-to-order grill, you can literally get food that appeals to everyone. Again being in Lancaster, I had to focus on some Amish classics. Shoo Fly Pie was phenomenal and definitely goes well with a dollop of Vanilla Ice Cream. Ham Balls were reminiscent of my grandmother's ham loaf, except these came with a delicious honey sauce. Amish Fillings is a fresher, fuller version of you standard stuffing. Large pieces of soft bread - I'd consider a perfect adaptation of stuffing and bread pudding together. The staff was extremely attentive. Filling drinks and clearing plates with precision. Oh my! This is the best buffet I have ever been to. So clean, fresh food, beautiful atmosphere, and the staff were so friendly. I can't think of anything they didn't have on the buffet. Huge salad bar, bread bar, soups, steamed shrimp. Tons of main entrees, veggies, pastas, and a 4 sided array of desserts. The black raspberry soft serve was amazing. They also have a grill that has burgers, tacos, and other restaurant like foods. The price is very reasonable. Perfect for eating one big meal in the middle of the afternoon. "Sweeter than a Hershey Kiss Come, be my dessert " (Britney Spears) Picture a dessert bar, salad bar, soup bar, carving station, a made to order counter, and what feels like half a mile of buffet trays--because that's exactly what $41.99 gets an adult for a Saturday night dinner at Hershey Farm's Grand Smorgasbord. Oh, I forgot to mention that everything is AYCE. We just had a fantastic group dinner here, and as I watched my tablemates go up for plate after plate after plate, it became apparent that we were having a sensational experience. I started off with a cup of their chili as my base, added in spoonfuls of cheese and mushrooms from their salad bar, and garnished the whole thing with a few tortilla chips. Yes, it was great. Next, I went to their made-to-order counter (The Grille) and ordered a crab cake. It was delicious, stacked with crabmeat with a crunchy breadcrumb filling. Round #1 for me was greens from the salad bar, seven shell-on shrimp, and a piece of fried chicken. The fried chicken was the clear winner of this round- it was juicy, crunchy, tender, and pretty much 100% magnificent. Round #2 for me was a hunk of meatloaf, some rice, and a scoop of Orange Chicken. No clear winner here -both were very good. I finished off my night of gluttony with a slice of sugar free cherry pie that sure tasted like the real deal. Our dinner included pitchers of water, lemonade, and iced tea on our table. AYCD soft drinks will add $4.99 to your bill. The dining room is very spacious and gorgeous, the buffet tables are spacious and not crowded, and the service was amazing as plates were cleared at the speed of light. We came here on a Saturday. $35. For that price, I would say a few other Amish buffet establishment offers more variety and delivers better flavor. Their fried chicken is nice. Soup looks clumpy but cream of potato and tomato bisque taste better than they look. housemade bean burger is mushy mealy flavor. I have higher expectation for a 'resort' food. Otherwise, great service and decent ambiance. Away from crowded establishment that are more of tourist traps. read more

I've come here a few times in the past .... The main reason is that it is next to Sight and Sound so it is convenient. It also has a store next door and a little park with games for the kids..... food was always mediocre but since we always came for lunch it was ok because our 2 kids ate free at lunch time . For the first time we decided to go for dinner. Kids don't eat free for dinner but because they advertise " carving station" like in this picture we decided to go. When we arrived they had a lousy piece of ham and they said that they don't have the steak shown on the picture everyday, only on Saturdays. That is not written anywhere ! When I told them that I was disappointed they lied to my face saying that their webpage said that. I am including what it shows online and it does say anything. On my way to Sight & Sound Ronk Pa., stopped over at Hershey farm resort and restaurant. Haven't been here since the big fire in 2023 of January. Totally new look, Fantastic stores and shops, prices are pretty reasonable for clothing and yes men there's some clothing items for us. The bake shop is directly across from the main store with delicious bread,pies, honey etc.All staff members are very welcoming. The Grand smorgasbord.is located in this area also. With many culinary dishes to try. They also have just directly across from the Grand Smorgasbord a large dining facility that seats at 125 people which was the size of our group. Everything was served family style with potato salad, coleslaw mashed potato, string beans corn stuffing fried chicken roast beef and ham, hot rolls, sweet ice tea, all you have to do is ask your server for more of whatever you want and they bring it out by the platters or bowls. To top it off we had apple pie with fresh churned ice cream ,shoofly pie and marble cake. The food was excellent though the string beans needed salt. Also the hotel area has access to everything without having to go outside. I stayed here before the fire of 2023, and it was great so I'm looking forward to returning very soon for a weekend visit. I was here a LONG time ago. Nice to see the remnants of the original place (we stayed in one of the rooms here). The newer building is absolutely beautiful. The buffet...well, for what you pay and the food, it's "OK". I never have high expectations for smorgasbord style settings, and it wasn't awful. 4.5 stars.....This resort has the most comfortable bed I've ever had at a hotel! The free huge breakfast buffet, animal barn, beautiful lake, plentiful parking, clean rooms, friendly staff, nice stores, and fresh baked goods are all amazing. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that there is no elevator to get bags to the 2nd floor. I had to carry my family's 7 bags up a flight of stairs. Management refused to compensate for another room or match the current room rate that was lower than the booked online rate. Proximity to Sight and Sound Theater was within walking distance. The restaurant and shops appear near and fresh, very modern. We went for the buffet. It was a slower weekend day, the dishes on the buffet were shallow which I felt it would help the food hold the temperature more but almost everything I consumed was lukewarm at best. Food seemed to be lacking seasoning and flavor. The buffet was clean, some more favorite items emptied quicker due to the shallow containers. Service was great. The stores are not terribly overpriced and have items for all. Due to the cost I probably wouldn't go out of our way to return, it just seemed overpriced for what you get. read more

It was our annual tradition for Easter weekend to have dinner here when in the area. We haven't been back since the fire and came back today. While it looks beautiful and new, we really miss the country vibe of Hershey Restaurant before the fire. This place reminded me of IKEA dining room. Our large group was automatically charged an 18% gratuity, which is understandable, but the receipt still had an additional blank tip line, and the staff even asked us to fill it out! Wow! The view here and the new dining room are amazing. It is just beautiful. Hershey Farm offers a large buffet with plenty of choices, there is a slight room for improvement on some of the entrees. But the grill is the best! Offering custom and fresh made cheesesteaks, pasta, French toast, pancakes and who knows what else this is just a wonderful option. My husband and I visited the Grand smorgasbord for lunch on Tuesday 6/30/26, we have been here many times before the Reno and had a wonderful food experience. This time the food was terrible! The vegetables were canned(?) and soggy, the salad bar was pathetic some lettuce,spinach carrots in honey and a few other low grade things. We were so disappointed, our waitress was fine (never got the second glass of water but ok.) The bus loads of people came so the food was moving but it was all just low quality & bland. A woman in a motorized scooter had her small dog with her (at an open buffet) she had a shirt on him that stated he was a "service dog". The bathrooms couldn't accommodate the bus loads of people coming in so the line was long. It came to almost $70.00 for terrible food and mediocre service. A waste of money. Wow! Ambience and flavor! This was my first time at this resort and buffet and I was amazed by the friendliness and attentiveness of our server. She overheard it was my birthday and at the end of my breakfast appeared with a whoopee pie with a little candle installed. No singing which normally I try to be a good sport about but secretly don't like. The food offerings are well prepared and attended on the smorgasbord. Nothing looks like it has been neglected and sat too long. It's tasty too! Omelettes are made to order. So much to choose from otherwise! You need to put the one on your dance card! read more

The new bldg is so open & feels so welcoming, loved the atmosphere! We walked in & were greeted by 3 young gentleman. All three welcomed us warmly, we were quickly shown to a table. Our server, Lisa was just as friendly and gave us the low down while getting our drink orders. I really enjoyed the omelet station with the choice of 7 different cheeses to add to my omelet. The food was all very good and they had a bunch of items to choose from for the Sunday brunch buffet. Lisa made sure our drinks never ran out. I loved the gift shop & bakery shop as well. Then it burned down and has been replaced by this beautiful Hershey Farm Resort/ Restaurant but as beautiful it is the food is just ok. The service was excellent! This is really hard for me to write, but I must be honest. I have loved Hershey Farm Resort for many years. It is my favorite place to stay when I visit the area. Their buffet was always my absolute favorite in the area before the remodel. I think the new building is beautiful. The layout is a bit harder for me now because I have mobility issues. My issue is the food. I think the food was much better before re-opening. Something feels off. Maybe it's the types of food offered. I think the former dining experience had more home style foods. Lately, it feels more generic and not in keeping with the traditional area cooking. The grill area is great but I really miss the quality of the food that they used to present. I feel so sad giving this review for a place I really loved. read more

The ambiance was so fresh and a great farmhouse feel. Lots of room for large groups. The staff was so sweet and friendly. The food was amazing! Our favorites were the crème brûlée French toast and Philly cheesesteaks from the grill. On Saturday they had prime rib that wasn't there on Friday that was so good. I have stayed as a guest at their hotel and hotel guest receive free breakfast from 9am - 2pm, which is pretty awesome for what the restaurant offers, it's not a basic continental breakfast. The new restaurant is so nice and very chic looking. The decor is very modern and comfortable. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area. read more
